  1. after gaming a beautiful 4+ BBD type H 16* i have effectively removed the need for a 3/5 wood combination. the 16 is long off the tee, has the height and is also forgiving from the fairway. now i already mentioned the di95s is on the heavy side and paired with the heavy 18* adams is honestly a heavy combo after getting the perfect weighting on the 4w 70 gm shaft, the hybrid is suddenly so heavy. also the 18* off the tee is amazing, but the 16* 4 wood does the job much higher and longer. also the 18 is not the easiest thing to hit from the fairway so after getting the 4w right, the 18 suddenly seems redundant. next move is probably an epon 21* with crazy utility shaft.

    54/55* WEDGE

    Jdm ofcourse. thanks guys
  3. probably too stiff but i have a DI95S i am thinking of selling
  4. When T came out with his first review of the classic gekkus I immediately had nostalgia, this wedge has always been on my wish list And want a 50, 58 combo. They even have 8,9 and pw replacements. Has anyone gone that route and placed their short irons with the gekku wedges?
  5. stealthy! play them in good health my friend.
  6. arent your ora stiffs in your yammy 08? you have another set
  7. Pm Gochhin. i am sure that TSG can get these for you. Shimada is a specialty shaft so not a lot of builders carry them
  8. yup they have a 110 version but dont think it comes in black. you defintely have to give it a try. actually to dispel some notions, its not really black. actually its not, far from it. just has a smokish sheen to it. similar to the nspro 999s but lighter.
  9. Yes i have tried the kbs tour, it was ok personally. but cannot compare it to the SP blue, nvs wedge. but those two cannot even compare to the shimada. in my heirarchy of wedge shafts i would rate: shimada black>dg spinner LOB > 2F15 protos > DG s400 tour issue > SP blue > nspro WV125 > KBS TOUR the shimada black is the numero uno wedge i have tried. Thanks to Jason his recommendation is spot on. feels the same as the crazy:)
  10. even the 3i with the "Tour-spec" stamp is intimidating!
  11. ns950s are going to launch higher than dgr300 sls. the dgr300 is a r flex s300 in the 120+ region while the sl is around 115. ns 950 is around 95 grams R and 105 stiff. theNS950 will have a lower kickpoint=higher flight VS the DG higher kick, lower launch than 950 but not by much. Nippon though will be the smoother one though. depends what you like snappier or smoother? ******* yesterday 10/8 i made a surprising discovery. reshafted my 302 4 iron with shimada tour, used for 3 rounds coming from sp blue in #4. the shimada 4 iron was not to my liking. i got very handsy with it and had a lot of snap hooks, sure its my swing but i think the shaft should adapt to my swing not the other way around. was going beyond my comfort factor. i was also longer , higher straighter with my old ns950 HL shaft. in short the shimada tour 120 not for me. kick was very snappy, i like the rubbery kick of nspro better. havent given up yet i have a shimada tour lite s on standby and will reshaft my #4 today. this should be less demanding and prove more frutful, at least i hope it should compared to the tour 120. i normally play my long irons lighter anyway so no surprise there. another discovery i made was that the shimada black tour 120 wedge is the best wedge shaft i have ever tried. having tried SP blue, TT TC, Black golds, DGS4 tour issue, 2f15 protos, ozik programs and my current gamers DG spinners, these black are in a different bracket. they are very very tight. dispersion was amazing. i usually pull my gap wedge when i really go after it but this wedge shaft held up. is also much lower than any USDM and japanese shaft i have ever tried. i also rate this to be spinnier than my ultra high spinning DG spinners shafts on conforming wedges. i love it! i am reshafting all my wedges with this shaft as we speak. i know that this is a wedge shaft but i would have hoped the shimada iron shafts felt like this. may even consider shafting my 9 and pw with this amazing shaft! ive ended my dg wedge era. long live the shimada black wedge!
  12. good pick up indeed. what shafts are going into these? bend em flat as they are similar lies to the 302s
  13. you know what you are right, ive seen a lot of putters with the weld neck that are touted as tour protos and handmade , in fact the weld neck commands higher price bec it connotes more work done as opposed to a 1 block machine hand milled putter. BUT the one block costs more in the long run and wastes more material. however if you do the the math, with the welded necks, not only do they save on having two pieces, they also charge proportionately more for welding them back together. that is good marketing indeed:)
  14. ah very nice! would you know the cpm of the shaft? what was the playing length of your hybrid?
  15. that is always what i am worried about with crazy. i defintely want to give their utes a go!
  16. i hear you! my adams is the odd ball in my pure jdm bag. it should be booted out based on origin but it works, i have no qualms replacing it with the next jdm hybrid of similar physique. i had a disastrous utterly disastrous day today with my 4 wood experiment. 2 months ago i had some success with my DI8s in my interim ping k15 played at d3 43', it was bloody long but being a SGI club it was closed faced and draw biased. that translated to some major draws so i pulled the head out, it felt alright but i liked the balance and feel of the club. fast forward to last weekend i had an adams speedline tour only 17* shafted with a machline fw65 played at 43" my gosh that thing was bloody long but found the shaft on the lighter side so being the restless tinkerer i pulled the shaft and decided to play the di8s, cant go wrong right? well everything that could possibly go wrong happened. was a domino effect that ruined my entire afternoon. same length at 43" the club felt like a macedonian war axe! i had no time to get the swing weight or the specs but i could defintely feel the heft. first couple of holes were ok, had to adjust and put in a nice slow tempo but by the fourth hole i was swinging beyond my tempo and every ball i tried to slay felt like a saracen! the static weight of this axe was just a burden. infected my tempo for the remaining part of my round, game over! perplexed, do some muddling and find out that the damn weight plug on the head is a tour issue tungsten 25g weight. stock is 2 and 4 grams. combine that with the titanic di8s and you have a club Thor would be proud off. dont know what the next move is. pulling the combo tomorrow. you know what you can do with those utes shafts? give them a go with the Epon 18* ute play it longer length. i might revisit that route for now as the ryoma FWs are delayed til november.
  17. Email me il post your pics, my addy in the bottom of my sig
  18. Hey Paul whats up? Type j / 301s are classics. Some like e more than the 302s Good luck with sale
  19. actually come to think of it, i will give the Epon another shot. i cannot believe that all this tech and RD did not work for me the first time around. will try the 20 with a crazy black utility shaft. unsure wether i should go S or X. torques seem on the high side. would have preferred a 90grammer the Di 95s i am currently using is low torque and 10g heavier than crazy black ute
  20. thanks these are the copper versions of the shinagawa handmades which were and still are my all time favs! regret selling my 51/57 to another member:(
