  1. Yeah but not just any 950, I fine the 950 ht best suited for the task. I have it in my long irons . Very very Easy to hit, nice kick and high trajectory.
  2. Yup 100% agree! Don't plan on selling these though hence naked. If i were a buyer I'd prefer the set in better condition .
  3. kinda liberating to remove the headcovers. as someone said they are tools and not jewels. i just snake a towel in the golfcart to prevent chatter. other than that i leave em as is. the soles and some of the faces have that golden burinished look already like it.
  4. Skip, read my post about the FEX vs FEX proto, I'm going heavier w the 75s. That leaves a problem with the fw woods. I like my woods softer feeling and have a Higher launch, pref tip soft to get the ball airborne quick. High launch low spin my preference although I can live w mid spin. The oziks are out coz they feel like glass poles. Brittly low launch monsters but not My vup of chai! Thinking quad f75s but worried about the cpm of 270. As the proto 75s which I intend for my driver is 265tops. And as I said I like em fluffier to aid in launch. Based on my spec requirement, the DI and DJ are the only ones That fit the criteria. Care to comment? I've decided to o with either a ping g15 4w or k15 for the time being or until the next big shallow jdm wood comes along.
  5. Well it's been over a month and ten days since I last posted On here about the FEX proto. I have gotten much of my old ss Back, distance is back and all those months of pt and stretching has Increased my flexibility. Becaue of this new development, I think I am over- Powering my shaft. Few months ago it was perfectly fine but I did comment it was a bit loose On the screws. I will game this for about a week more, seems as the round progresses My tempo gets off due to the lighter shaft, my coach noticed the same thing. My transition Was way off and caught myself pushing it right! Wasn't the case before. Had one of my Longest drives today with this shaft , number 4 at my local course a short par 4 nasty dog leg right Wth a creek on the right side. Play safe straight shot around 240-250 middle of the fairway. I usually play this route but the downwind picked up and ripped one , too ambitious too right Out long long drive though. Second shot I carry the entire corner barely and rolled about 15yards on a soggy fw. Was a lob away 40 yards. Made double b w penalty what a hole!!! Hole was 380. So the flex is obviously right, I just need something a tad heavier To keep the tempo in check The 65 and 75 proto s have the same cpm numbers only diff is lower torque on the 7. Would this Be a problem? Help guys
  6. Got my 20 today and gamed it right away. This suits my game more As I am getting the distance I need. I find that I still am inconsistent with The shaft and since its only 20 I might reshaft it with an nspro 950ht shaft to lower The flight and tighten it up a bit.
  7. I gamed my ping g15 jspec 4 wood and was hitting it Quite well. The shaft was a bit light, will grad to ping center Tom and do a head to head test with the new k15 16* , will Try different combos til I get it right. So far this could be my Only option for now. The g15 4w is one of the easiest woods I have hit, probably even Easier than the egg. Key is the shaft though. I'm curious about The k15. This could be the only usdm piece of equipment in my bag For now.
  8. good review, from what i inferred a full blooded 3 wood is the way to go in the fairway. if you couldnt hit it much further than the spoon then us mere mortals shouldnt even bother. could be that the launch and additional hangtime of the egg vs the piercing lower trajectory of the Ds cancels each other out , from the tee the distance gaps should be huge! if ur loving this i think you would love the #3 wood in either 14 or 15!
  9. bumping to the top. james, pm daleuk i think he is interested in this one. c
  10. The dent back is supposedly to lower the trajectory and flight the ball lower. Also the laser milled grooves should increase spin. I will verify The kenmochisnarebthe easiestbwedges. Playable from any lie, easy to open adnset up for a green side flop shot. Hope these Are comparable at the very least
  11. Thanks T. I will probably maintain for 1 week then forget about it. My kenmochis were raw, had a black ox coating that has worn off completely Now they are exposed with some rust spots but doesnt bother me. These though Will be hard to neglect. What's the diff between this and the regular 52 and 58?
  12. It's a win win scenario with that combo! No reason why itnshouldnt top your current driver
  13. Nope, told you I did not get it:) so I got these instead. These are conforming though so I hope i don't get disappointed With the spin. The mochis were real spin mesiters!
  14. i started looking for a used set of 52/56 non protos about a month ago as back up to my kenmochi 52/58 and also to satisfy my curiosity. well i got more than i bargained for as i recently got lucky and found a set of like new DB protos. i got it at a very, very, very good deal. i think these more than redeem my bad luck on missing out on that 56 RC in the demo sale. here are pics from the seller, i should receive them by next week. now just wanted to ask, who else gaming these bad boys? what is the difference between this and the 52/58 non protos? also is this a raw type of head? i cant tel from the pics but if i would guess it looks raw. its currently shafted with s200 but will most likely pull and install my trusty dg spinners. i usually use a 52/58. i can also go 52 58 bent to 60 but will need another 56 to complete the set. will have updates when i have had a chance to game these.
  15. yup i think i will go naked soon, the deepest scratch is always the first. i find the covers cumbersome and annoying. i have several epon club covers but for the entire set of irons to prevent bag chatter. something like this we only use carts and when walking the caddies have trolleys. actually most of my old bag chatter was from driving the golf cart.
  16. I guess you have a point, Im using a 17 ping g15 4wood and the thing looks so skinny and Malnourished compared to the rcs. Pretty funny
  17. my gosh the yonex must have been one hell of training club as i have gained so much yardage with the 302s and they seem like a breeze to hit, easily gained 2 clubs now with the modus 3 hardstep shaft. im beginning to think the shaft is softer than i like, i could have gone x straight up but im more than content with the S. less demanding and i can really sling the irons. enjoying the irons so much and hitting the 4 in the range is such a joy i immediately ordered a 3iron head bent 1* strong. lies are all flat by 1*. i can see that the modus 3 shafts work very very well with these heads. i think the distance gained had something to do with the shafts. they are lower than the 1050s but still launch pretty high but you get the soft landing, even on a 4 iron! the finish is holding up fine but my 7iron has the most wear on the sole due to hitting around 200 balls in the range. the faces are fine, the 9 iron has a sort of look as if mini grenade exploded on the face. was done when there was some wet sand on the ball when i struck it puro! i find the headcovers such a snag and a pain to use. im thinking of playing them naked! what do you guys think?
  18. i wish i had your ability to hit those launchers off the deck. its not like i dont have the SS, Just find those deep faced cannons too much to handle.
  19. Thanks I will definitely check it out. I was considering a 4wood but sine the loft is 17, I can live with that . T, the plus model looks just as thick as the RC 17/18 though, is the onoff easier to launch because of the higher loft? And not necessarily the face?
  20. That gfield 4 wood is awesome. Had two before.ni don't know why I sold em.
  21. Doesn't have to be jdm have a ping jspec g15 17 deg I will revive while I wait For options to surface. Thanks donds
  22. I had the 14 yamaha twin rail, struggled with the face thickness and switched to the RC twin rail 15. Better but Still have the same problem. Its quite demanding given the thickness of the face.
  23. The yamaha and the RC are for the better player, deep faced cannons. The egg is very easy to hit off the fw, but based On what younsaid the RC and the yamaha may be the way to go.
  24. dale, check the proshop out. i think that price is with the stock machline shaft
