What current wedge spins the most (conforming or non)
Spoon replied to Mjr. D's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
i used to be a wedge addict and my favorite were always the raw shins and raw kyoeis. those were really really sharp and spun the ball crazy. right now im back to a 50 208kgx and 56 mystery raw wedge. the 208s are rather underrated but spin the ball crazy. if they had a non conforming 210 that would be perfect. have reshafted my dg tour issues with the new dg spinner shaft non + version. supposed to lower trajectory and increase spin by 750-100 rpm. let us see -
i agree. the ns950 is the gold standard in feel. thats why they use it in most stock offerings. defintely superior to anything american. if they could replicate the feel of the ns950 in a mid to high kick lower launching shaft thats about 10-15 grams heavier then that would be the ticket. i agree with chris the 1150s dont cut it,similar heavy version i would say is the SP reds but they feel harsh compared to the marshmallow rebound feel of the 950. the 1050s would be the closest. have virtually tried all nspro shafts from 750 to sp blue, only thing i missed out on were the browns. the 750s in hybrids are spectacular! right now i went 180deg and am back to the shafts i was using in 07. since i love the DGS300 i decided to relive the Tour concept shafts. i had these with the type x. Chris hooked me back in 07. C you remember? anyway i am yet to hit these shafts in my latest combo, will head to the range later. also swapped out my s400 tour issues for the new DG spinner non + wedge shafts. really excited about these. feel is subjective. others hate dg feel but i like DG flight and trajectory. i do admit that NSPRO is best in feel but im willing to sacrifice feel for trajectory for now. who knows in a few months i could have a combo shaft set like stews. have built many but am yet to try em on for myself. stew, your using sp orange/blue softstep X not hardstep S:)

they look very clean indeed nice! looking forward to your review -
guys both are available already and was so set on the new yamaha 19deg ute but after seeing the 2011 RC 20* i am really confused. the yamaha has the fric off sole while the RC has the twin rail. both make hitting of the rough easier. they both could have a place as a replacement for my 3i. which one? i know the yamaha has good reviews. how bout the rc? anyone gaming one?

ohhhh thats the same very club i wanted, and in the color and loft i wanted:) if you get tired of it let me know, remember the pm i sent you 3 weeks ago?
-
it will. most custom heads though are heavier to compensate for the grinding, i believe that you can use lead tape to get some weight back but for those that are oc about their clubs they will need to get re-finished etc etc. but anyone knowledgeable in golf club grinding and understanding of the interaction of club and turf can do this. i personally dont know anyone that can do this locally. care to experiment with one of your sets?

actually the reds will be closer to the 1150tour. the reds in S will be stiffer and heavier than the 1050. the reds will defineltly launch lower. the 1050s are like heavier 950s with the same launch. regarding the tips i really never had a chance to compare the two. had the red briefly in some 502s and they performed similar to kbs tour s flex. the red was not to my liking, the orange is actually more friendly for me.

that would be the ultimate of the ultimate.

c, the Ms are the ultimate driving machine, adding a turbo will only enhance that experience imho. the m5s specs are insane i cant imagine them adding a turbo to the v10. that would be the ultimate+ more!! -
theres brown, low kickpoint semi high launch. then the red, mid kick. around 115grams, heavier version of the 1050 then orange low-mid kick, 120g version blue. butt kick low launch. around 126 grams in S flex. favorite is the orange

hey Chris, im interested in grinding as well. i want to order a set of yururis but want a custom grind. can this be done on the phone? just give some basic info on AOA, divots profile etc etc? no one does that sort of thing locally.

your right about the pitching wedge, that is so good looking. can you just order the pw?

is that an actual tuned gt3 car? if it was it would have to be de-tuned as the gt3s arent road legal. for 450k id rather get a m5, porsche 911 turbo and keep the change:) -
great. love the orange. recommended them but originally you found them on the higher side, good job on the blues, theyl defintely serve you well in the links courses:) shimadas are awesome!
-
wow 295 cpm! holy mother of batman!
-
was also considering a set but the mr G's feedback from users is not so promising. may actually go back to the blues but first i want to re-try the Tour concepts.
-
they are very good shafts. i had high hopes for the modus but they arent living up to the the original proto shafts. how would you rate these shafts in order? Blues, shimada and modus?
-
will reshaft my onoff iron heads thanks. 3-pw + wedge shafts or whatever you have.

oh yeah bro tell me about it. they are actually 365grams and i played mine at 35! was extremely heavy. had to sell the epon, had i known about the golds tuning would have sent the epon to him, get the PZ milling. no need for the inserts as the head is already heavy.
