i have both ems 10.5 and 151 9.5* , the feel of the 151 is superb and has a nice thud comparable to the 101. face is a tad shallower than 101 but not noticeable. i find that those accustomed to the 101 will like the 151. i need more course use to give feedback. the ems on the other hand is awesome. for those that loved the embs forgiveness but not the sound, this one is for you. it is very forgiving and long. off center hits still went very long. shaft i have on it is an oban devotion which is low- launch low spin, i am swapping out the shaft in favor for a revenge which is mid launch and mid spin with a slightly lower kickpoint. will have feedback soon.

for those playing a shorter length do make sure to get a heavier headweight. the heads of 151 and ems weigh about 194 grams a piece. had to add around 8-10grams to bump up my sw to d2 played at 45.5"

that gel is amazing. it really does help absorb unwanted vibrations. on mis**ts i swear that it should have felt worst. just wondering is there are any other manufacturers that employ this gel? will play another round with the sticks tom and will have more updates

i totally agree with you bat. i have been using the 701s for 2 years, did not like the 501s at all. then come the 502s, im hesitant due to being a replacement of the 501 i thought it would feel the same and be every bit as forgiving. boy was i wrong. the 502s are damn easy to hit, significantly easier than the 501 and a lot more solid feeling. i did not miss my 701s one bit which i quickly put up for sale. the 502s are revolutionary imho. love what they did with addressing the undercut cavity. have 2 full rounds under them and love em. i only use 5-pw but ordered and built a 4i to complete the set. only grip is the chrome, you cant see it at address though, i would have likes something understated, but they are pretty. no problems and no regrets
-
Tinky? i rather think the 502s are solid feeling and sound is a lot more muted compared to the 501s
-
i am gaming the 502s, they are much softer and solid feeling than the 501 due to the elim of the undercut. Sound at impact is also less clickier. I do find this to be a big improvement over the 501 in every aspect: feel, forgiveness and looks. I too was a bit concerned about the very close lofts most especially in the longer irons, was contemplating on tweaking them but decided to leave them alone and play them as spec. So far w the 3 rounds i have under my belt they are fine. What i really enjoy is how forgiving they are. Il have more updates soon

Spoon replied to Mjr. D's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs

I have a tour issue only pnt2 hybird that has a tour weight 13gram plug installed on head. these are not available retail and are hard to find. only one place on another forum to get em in. Cost me $230 for head only. $170 shafted it with a oban devotion 85g shaft. deliberetly left it .5" longer so you can either tip trim or butt trim depending on what you want. found the shaft on the heavier side but will work for stronger players. i can either tip trim or butt trim for you and adjust swing weight. $220 if you dont want the oban shaft can sell it with nspro 950UT shaft installed. $180

wow nice review randy. such an expensive xperiment but glad its working out. having wood woes as of the moment and am compromising by searching for a perfect 4wood 16* to end my bad spell. this looks like this could work. particularly eyeying the 15*
-
looking for some idle 4 wood heads. let me know what you have 16/17* welcome prefer shallower face

i agree, the 701s are so easy to hit, on top with the forgiveness factor. have used this set for 2 years without any complaints. i have hit and test the new 502s, although not as forgiving, still pretty decent and a lot more forgiving imho than the 501s. best is to test some before deciding.
