  1. It all is personal opinion of course. My experience for the best combination of distance and accuracy, the Ryoma is the best I have experienced and i have tried a bunch. I don't even look at other drivers at this point. You do need to get a correct shaft, my guess is you are in the regular range of shafts. For your handicap, the stock Ryoma shaft which is a Graphite Design should work well. I would reach out to Gocchin (Tario) he is the man to set you up.
  2. I bought a ryoma f2 used here. I love the thing. I also have an egg 17 which I love as well. I actually hit the F2 on a great flight. It rolls out considerably more than my Egg so they pair well. With range balls off the deck I was rolling it out 250 and I am no big hitter. Hit on the screws I hit the Ryoma driver 265. I hit the egg much higher. I probably would have bought an Egg 13 in the new style if they made one. I understand the hard to work but I am a fan of straight and long. It is super forgiving. I would have to agree that for the price the Egg is a better value, but the Ryoma for me works really well

I shipped a putter to OZ this week USPS. It was $38 I imagine triple digits to OZ for a bag....
  4. How did you gain that much club head speed!
  5. I played the US version Mizuno FOrged 800's and now play last years VG3's. For me they are similar, VG3's feel slightly better. The VG3's are more forgiving IMO. The tungsten in the sole helps.
  6. I hear you on roll. East Coast of the states had so much rain in the summer that the fairways never rolled. The don't roll now in the damp and cold. I am hoping to see some of the roll promised by my RYOMA head this year if it ever warms up and dries out. I think Golf Gear is mental as well, if you think you need a RD stiff then you better go that way, don't need you head questioning the club....
  7. I don't trust Launch Monitors at all, especially those indoors, calibration issues et all. The internet boards, particularly Golf WRX are full of 125 MPH LM swings. I am 45 years old and hit it 250 yds with good contact, can get it to 270 with a great shot. I rarely find myself outdriven consistently, and I walk on as a single a lot, so I am not sure where these swinging gorillas are hiding! I would trust your on course results much more than a launch monitor. For me, a touch too soft is better than too stiff, much easier to adjust to a tad soft.
  8. Looking at your clubs, your set up and shafts are very similar to mine. I play an Egg Spoon with M43, Egg-i + utility with M40. My irons have regular shaft Aerotech steel fiber graphites. I would agree with Tario, SR flex is probably the right flex. With a poor quick swing I actually can make the RD go left with a pull hook. the combo of RD and Ryoma just wants to go straight, I have never been more accurate off the tee.
  9. Played the DI at 46. RD Feels Better, Smoother. Hard to say on stiffness, I can't say I noticed a difference. I am more swinger than hitter. I went SR in the DI to SR in the RD I gained accuracy for sure can't tell distance yet as I haven't hit the RD when it was above 60 degrees....most days in the 40's
  10. I have a Royal Deco in SR in a Ryoma head. Great combo, playing around 47 inches. Super combo. I can hit it high or medium or low all depends on tee height. I am a 92-102 MPH Driver swinger, wish I consistently would hit 102... I went from DI 6 SR to Royal Deco SR. Little Lower than the DI6. Super Smooth waiting for dry fairways and warmer weather to fully see the benefits but the RD feels great..
  11. I think folding has to do with micro biology and disease research. Teams can work around the world sharing data and work around the clock. I am not 100% positive though.

Lennie- How did this one compare to your Ryoma?
  13. Go out of the way to Brooksville, FL. About an hour or less North of Tampa. Play World Woods Pine Barrens and Rolling Oaks. Drive 35 minutes North and play Juliette Falls. 3 of the top 7 public golf courses in FL. If its about golf do these. Add the private Black Diamond Ranch a top 100 Private Course in Lecanto by staying on site. Awesome Quarry Course. Lecanto is actually almost the center staging area for all three of the public options I mention. 4 great courses, get the local food stops. Probably the best 4 courses you can play within 45 minutes of each other in all of Florida.
  14. Oh I am not sure about that. Old Guys Rule.! I avoid facebook as well. If you know me and want to find me, you can email me. Too much nonsense on Facebook for me.
  15. We saw what Taylormade has in store for the coming year. Is Titleist still tight lipped as to what is to come?
  16. I think JGalls is in Syracuse, NY. He's either buried in snow or frozen solid trying to take pictures of his new toys. We might have to wait until May when the snow melts.
  17. Your family must go with the clothes on their backs and flip flops to get all that gear on the plane!
  18. Stew- You must have a Rodney Dangerfield golf bag to carry all those clubs down under...
  19. I am playing the aerotech steel fibers 95cw
  20. That surprises me about the accuracy. I hit about 25 balls with the 8 iron after the re-shaft and was amazed at how close the balls all landed! Loved the extra distance too as you described. I hit a couple 165 yd 8 irons.... I have heard good things about the KBS C Tapers....
  21. I just went to Aerotech Steel Fibers from 1050 GH Nippons. Love the feel and tight dispersion. I went with Regular Flex vs. Stiff in the Nippons. Head weight and swing weight tend to translate to feeling where the club is during the swing. My irons were C9 with the Nippons and with the Aerotech's and some tip weighting they are D2 and the clubs feel so much better. If you had luck with the Aerotech's move up in weight...
  22. I have the Fourteen RM-11 in 56*. Very versatile, right amount of grind and bounce plenty soft. Might make me sell my forged Vokeys (58 and 54). Went to one sand wedge this year. I can make the RM-11 do what I need it to do. So my set up is 50* attack and 56 sand. Working well in they early year.

I too want to see if there is a new titleist offering from Japan in the irons category. In the US, the tweaked the AP2, nothing major. Want to see what they would/will do around the VG3's.
