This topic has been discussed ad naseum not just here. But I agree with you. There's no proof, research or otherwise, to support this. The pros get it done because it's done for free so they don't mind, and it certainly doesn't hurt to have it done. The question is whether it actually helps. The companies that do this try to get clubmakers to jump on the bandwagon. I've seen the promotional pitch to clubmakers and one of the big pitch is because it is a source of extra revenue for the clubmakers once they purchase the equipment. For someone with disposable income, and the belief that their equipment is in tune, it may be worth it. When I hit my shot 10 yards right or left, I'm often left to looking at my club to see what went wrong.
  4. That was a good job. As for the sound, that "crack" does sound like a toned down or muted version of the EMB. It shouldn't matter for the woods, unlike a driver, because you're probably in the fairway and have some distance to other people compared to the tee. I would take performance over sound any day.

Kamui driver now in the bag. It just took over the spot that my tourstage driver with crazy shaft occupied.
  6. I think you're going to like the crazy fw shaft. It's one of the best shafts that I've played and still playing.

Sounds to me you like the Yamaha the best.
  8. That guy is pretty sad. People like that should be ignored.
  9. Few people play the same brand in their bag, although when I find a brand good in one category of clubs I tend to want to try other type of clubs in that brand as well. And unfortunately, I have been disappointed. But ... Miura - excellent irons and wedges, the driver is a classic player's driver as are the woods, only their putters are weak, but still pretty good. Fourteen - a pretty complete company even though alot of stuff are made in China nowadays. Wedges still excellent. Putters are weak. Tourstage - again a pretty complete company from woods to irons. Wedges and putters are weak but playable. PRGR - With the new lines coming out, one could have a full bag of them. Older irons geared more for the average player. I don't know about the wedges or their putters. Epon - pretty much a complete company like Tourstage. If I had to play a complete bag of non-JDM clubs, then it would be Titleist.

Miura driver, 390cc, and launches quite low. Actually, it can launch what ever way you want it depending on your ability. Extremely workable driver.
  11. From experience with multiple Honma nonconforming drivers of years past, distance gain is minimal particularly for the amateur golfer.

I don't like Chikara production wedges. Nothing special. Also, too much bounce for me. Chikara prototype or custom wedges are much better. Heads are a little light, but I can deal with that.
  13. I do love the looks of the GF blades. I wish I could try it. I have played the PPM blades. It is soft. Only problem I had with them was that it had noticeable offset and a slightly thicker top line than my 5003. Also with the KBS shafts, I would draw the ball unintentionally and every shot was a draw. Maybe the increased offset had something to do with it. The only thing that I did not like about the 5003 is the strong lofts +2 degrees from 5/6 iron on compared to classic blades. Virtually every modern blades have strong lofts nowadays. I think the epon still has traditional lofts but have not had the opportunity to try them.

  15. Yes you are right. I keep thinking it has to be made in Japan. But so many "Japanese" companies have their manufacturing process outside of Japan.
  16. Is it really JDM when it is "milled in the USA"? I know they make it for the Japanese market.
  17. G-field Premium Zone #2 Putter Soft SUS303 34" with new iomic grip $185 $10 ship conus
  18. Yes, but I wouldn't question their business plan. Sales of their clubs are probably a small portions of what they make.
  19. Yup, I agree with this. Most dedicated players have been fitted many times. But I do agree that to reach the market that does not have access to the equipment itself, especially JDM stuff, TSG is the next best thing.
  20. If you're referring to Mr. GT, then yes. IMO, some of the G-field stuff was better than George Spirits. But the GS stuff was pretty good.
  21. thanks for the answer, but I didn't know and I'm sure others would chime in it would be a waste to create another post, hehe
  22. how do you like this putter? were these premium zone putters made by M. Sasaya when he was the head at gauge? is this the same premium zone as on the GF putters?
  23. Let me know if you got one for sale. Can also email: [email protected]
  24. your logic, not mine
  25. i don't think it's exactly the same in the same way that the FT-3 was essentially the E.R.C. driver of old. I believe the FT-3 used some of the technology of the E.R.C. that came out first in Japan. The hyperbolic face was something that came after the FT-5 design when Callaway came out with the Hyper X driver. The Legacy driver does incorporate some of the later technology than the FT-5. That said, it's a great price and I believe shipping to the U.S. is quite easy. For $348, that's a real good deal if you're looking for a Callaway driver.
