Longest legal driver on the market?
i certainly know that the best feeling , most accurate all round performer that i have hit is the 460 epon! it is by far the best alll round driver that i have ever had, and it really does tick all the boxes. Now you are asking about pure hardcore distance, from this point of view i have three heads in mind -> 1) The ERC ft3 2) The Nike DFI 3) The cleveland Type J all of these seemed to be long of the tee, but did not satisfy me in other departments! However bare in mind that with todays technology i feel that the heads really dont vary that much between one another and distance is usually down to the fit of the shaft to the player swinging the club.........i know that i have certainly gained distance, ie carry and roll from increasing my loft by 1 degree and by using an axiv V spec shaft. From doing this my launch and carry has increased and yet my spin rate has lowered.....= long drives! good luck in your search for the long ball! -> ie try one of the above...... but for ultimate satisfaction imo go epon 460! :tsg_smilie_cool: my 4 ball are all hooked on it now lol!

ns pro 1150gh
they actually play slightly softer to flex. but the 1150s are prety close. if you are a dg x100 then i would say try the 110 tour x hardstepped once. this should give you a similar flex but with a much much smoother silky feel. as for them in parallel i am not sure, but i assume that they do come in parallel. I know for sure that nippon have a 950 paraleel utility shaft. which i found worked great in my old mizuno UX2

DREV & Mach Line Shafts by NGS
i know the question is directed at chris but i asked the same question. The answer is no, the epon comes stock with a version of the DREV however if you see a spec that you prefer there will probably be an upcharge. ie i choose the ICN Light which is a super exxpensive shaft, therefore i had an upcharge to pay. But from what i have read and from my sources i think the upcharge will be well worth the $$$$ :tsg_smilie_cool:

FT-3 with PT-6?
i think you hit the nail on the head there chris! it is a very personal thing and that ALL these shafts are top quality......it is a matter of knowing what specs you need to optimize your distance and accuracy.

FT-3 with PT-6?
Tom i have tried the Axiv, the Axiv V spec and the PT-6. In my honest opinion i liked the PT-6 the least. I am not saying that it is a bad shaft - it just did not work out for me. I tried the stiff flex and seemed to hit it very very high, with far too much draw (uncontrollable). However the feel was very good. In terms of the Tour AD series i definitely preferred the M and W series. My favourite of these shafts was the Axiv V spec. My reason for this is that it has all the feel and distance of the Original Axiv but with a much more stable / consistent flight. The V spec for me kicked through impact beautifully - however did not turn over or hook. The launch was high with this shaft and the spin was very low.....meaning that she carrys far and runs out very well. Also the wind did not effect the flight at all. I have a few different models of the Drev comming this week which i will compare fully with the Axiv V Spec which i think will be a fun shootout.

alpha_pro's bag!!
the g field gft 3 wood is great, it performed for me, it seemed real easy to work and was also very long with the pt-7. however it could not knock my mizuno jpx with the tour ad m75 out of the bag. My mizuno is just so forgiving, long and easy to work and most of all it is so hot/fast of the face that i couldnt drop her. Thanks Alpha for the comments on the ARMRQ, it does look unreal but at the end of the day it is all in its performance. i love the axiv in the epon and am doing a DREV vs Axiv showdown very soon to compare these two.....so stay tuned lol. ps i am liking the look of the gft wedges, they look very similar to the gauge gas1 forged......do u know if it has the same face ie the 5 grooves that are tri cut?

Green and Orange pics of the Premium Zone Putters
i love the g field premiums, i have 3 circle t cammerons and the premium zone zero is in the bag over them all! i currently have the orange, which imo is fantastic. i have also ordered a black model for a more sleek look. The Green really does nothing for me, i personally think the green is a weak colour, and i would worry that it would clash against the green grass on the green. However it may look different in real life. But in terms of performance the premium zone is the daddy!!!!

Guage Design Japan Prototype Putter M2CAL
looks like a quality putter. the tungsten weights on the face and the centre shaft make this putter really suitable for my straight back straight through stroke. also the 3rtnc face gives that end over end roll that we all love. Great putter....how is she working for you?

Scotty Cameron Circa 62 from Scotty's Custom Shop
wow i have never seen a retail scotty with as much detail and deep milling marks as this........the platinum finish really does emphasize the millings. That is a great buy bert and it definitely does look as though its worth the extra $140. :tsg_smilie_cool:

What is the most LOW spin rate driver shaft?
Yes this definitely is a low spinning shaft. However i found that the shaft was pretty boardy and lacked the feel that many of fujikuras japanese rivals have. If you are not a feel golfer and want a low spinning shaft this is the one for you, however if you like to feel the shaft throughout your swing, and get a nice kick through impact the v spec axiv or the ozik tp7x range are very good

Need shaft help.
the launch angle isnt too much of a problem here....ideally a 13-14* launch would be good, so an 8.5 head should be fine. In terms of the shaft i would highly recommend a rombax proto 70C in x flex. This to me is an extremely low spinning shaft. yes it does launch the ball up there but it definitely has a flat flight ie not much spin! To me this shaft is a tad boardy and that is where IMO it has its downfall - similar to the whole rombax range in fact. Another option i would recommend your mate would be the axiv V spec in an 8080 or 8084 flex. This is a very low spinning shaft, that still gets the desired launch for the rainbow flight...ie optimum carry. To me this has al the benefits of the rombax and yet has much much better feel. it is much smoother and manageable. I fitted one of my best mates with this shaft in the 8084 flex ( he moved from a 757 x tipped half and inch) and he is truely delighted! * one important thing to note is that although the flight may not appear to be different than his current flight, the ball will have less spin and therefore will get slightly further carry (especiallyinto the wind!) and will also roll out much much further when she hits the deck :tsg_smilie_smile: Hope this helps! :tsg_smilie_cool:

High launching shaft for driver...please help
if you are a very low launcher of the ball i would highly suggest - a stiff flex or even poss an x flex graphite design Tour AD W60. This shaft has a very low kick point which will increase your launch, and help you get the ball in the air. Also this will help inrease your carry! The feel and kick from this shaft is really good, yet it manags to stay stable through the hitting zone. I would also highly recommend you trying a higher loft on your driver.

Ultra Man
darn, i have him coming for the epon.......looks like it will be a tight squeeze lol! :tsg_smiley_embarrassed:

Japan Only Utility clubs......
i had the UX2 prior to the prgr 320 cx and i found that it was just too hard to work the ball. the UX2 just went soo straight - it also went a bit too low for hitting long shots into par 4s or par 5s to get any stop on the ball. Although this is a top class UT, it just wasnt for me.......!

EPON: The Best Forged Steel ENDO has Ever Produced!
hey wes, was just wondering how u are enjoying your type x epon irons? and specs you have them in/....... i have a set of the type js with 1150s and just ordered a set of the type x to do a comparison........so if ya can give me some insight into these bad boys i will know what to expect! ps im not sure if you have the 460 or not but as far as i can see there is no need for the Hicore model lol.....the ordinary 460 flies as is! :tsg_smilie_cool:

Japan Only Utility clubs......
yeah, the g field utility does look awesome, and i can testify that the g field woods do travel! i had the 4 wood with a pt 7 shaft and it really went out there. The only problem as Chris suggested would be that the distance would be too great and rather than filling a gap in the bag it would would just cause more confusion. I would consider the tity 503H as more of a driving iron. and in terms of driving irons i would only use one on a links course.......In this case i would love to rty out the PRGR 220i! i think she looks sweet Chris i am curious what you think is the best hybrid shaft on the market currently? And as well as that do Drev / Mach Line do a hybrid shaft?

Japan Only Utility clubs......
Hey guys im very interested in seeing what the TSGers favourite Japan Only Utility/ Hybrid is? There is a wide selection to choose from, all of which i think offer something more unique in terms of looks and feel over the USDM products. Some of the contenders may be - PRGR Zoom 320 cx PRGR Zoom 220i Fourteen 106 UT Fourteen Hi 585 G Field GFT Utility Mizuno UX1 and UX2 Taylormade TP Driving Iron Tourstage X-UT Tourstage VIQ - UT XXIO 4th Gen UT I personally have been using the PRGR Zoom 320 cx 20* for nearlly a year now. The feel from this wee club is very strange, almost like an old persimmons wood, yet performs very smooth and requires little effort to work the ball high or low and draw or fade, taking advantage of the most up to date technology. I have been so impressed with this club from all terrain ie tight lies, rough, wet rough, sand.......you name it she can dig her way through and out lol! I am currently using the stifff PRGR shaft at the moment which seems to work fine however i would like to experiment with an upgrade shaft............as a ho is never content lol!
