gauge design handmades
As far as i can remember it was much closer to the 50 mark - and like yourself sites i have 3 lol! In terms of the pw i would agree with yourself as i feel that the pw is a good size and certainly not oversized like the rest of the japan iron models.

WTB IRONS
How about a class set of Tourastage VIQ 2 Forged irons. these have only been taken on to the course 1 and to the range 2 times. There is a lot of info on these irons in the Japanese Import Equipt forum and they are highly recommended. I bought them for testing purposes only and found them to be long and ultra forgiving. Let me know pal

Yururi Wedge
Great looking wedge, i really like the finish on it! but more so i love the jap writting on the wedge - really looks funky!

X-drive 460 or Epon 460
i too have had a few epons - i have also had both viq tourstage drivers and the 435 x drive - I have not tried the 460. But in my opinion none will give the feel and performance of the epon! It truely has a unique feel unrivalled by any other. Good lucj with your hunt.

Please rank the following in terms of "softness..."
although they are currently in bag in terms of softness i wouldnt put them in the top 30. they are not soft and definitely have a slightly clicky feel - however performance is excellent with them

gauge design handmades
I would have to argue with that last point phil ! lol As for the nc1 vs the handmades i would have to say that yes they look similar - the finish is completely different - and the feel is completely different! the handmades are my favourite feeling set ever - it combines the soft buttery feel with a really solid hit. In no way are they muchy! Lucky for me in this time of my life i have no kids - but the point remains the same - if i had kids i would rather swap one of them lololol!

Please rank the following in terms of "softness..."
hey jammy good to see another uker in the forum -! I have owned all of the above irons and each have their own unique feel, which all are different types of softness. I personally do not find miura ultra soft and actually kind of firm, the mizzys are mizzys and the epons have a really solid soft feel. The scratch use the softest material but dont paly as soft as suggest - they in my opinion are very solid. in terms of feel my ranking would be 1. original gauge design irons (handmades) 2. scratch or epon .....personally i prefer the scratch but to be fair the epon have the most unique solid feel i have hit 3. mizzys 4. miura hope this helps

Miuras Giken's New Forged Wedge!
No prob K2_2 i was just giving my own honest opinion. The most versitile lob wedge i have and still use is the gauge design gas1 forged. I always go back to this baby as for me - it is soooo reliable from any type of ground! However the beres lobwedge seems very tempting! As for the deep - it is a definite keeper - i have had it a while now - it has an ozik altus installed and it is a true FAIRWAY FINDER! I am astonished by how consistent the club is. It is not overly long but still goes out there and it keeps me in play. You want to compare it with the 435.....I have a 435 with a tp7 in it and when i put the two together the deep is easier to hit - has a nicer feel to it, very soft yet not hollow. The 435 puts more spin back spin on the ball and does not travel as far. Out of the two drivers I have the viq in the bag - which actually knocked the epon out too. Hope this helps

Miuras Giken's New Forged Wedge!
I have both the 53 and the 58 from chris. From my experience I played teh 58 great from firm dry ground and from sand, however when the ground is wet and soggy which can be the case a lot of the time inthe winter - the club diggs badly! The 53 is a great all round wedge that i think plays great on links and parkland and for me is more versitile than the 58. Both are a great design by miura, with nice feel and a funky look - but im sorry to say that neither last in my bag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Test!
Guys i have carrying out a comprehensive test between a number of sets of irons for the last 2 weeks or so. Comparing Looks, Feel, Playability, Workability, distance and confidence. The following irons were in the line up - i will give them one more full session together and then tell you my thoughts! enjoy
