blade choices of recent times ............
Ran into a cpl of sets of newer newish MB model recently that need some simple honest dialogue.......... from a blade lover, I cannoned all cbs and am playing mb only so...... I have skin in the game muziik...........honma............epon.....mizuno mp05 hmmmmmmmmm...... the designers of mbs have gone in very different tacks recently it seems none of these are remotely alike! HONMA : are a Mb verision of the latest cb model line , same score lines on the back, same squareish head shape. but with a thinner top line this time and as always with honma MB , a nice compact body , this time they are a bit more blocky" looking to my eye with the typical not-a-lot-of offset ,which I LOVE , thats pretty much standard with honma. , they also went with a pretty ginormous deviation from their previous models shape wise , which were rounded smooth and clean lined with a bit thicker top line , I guess they wanted a new look for Justin rose or that's the shape he likes , maybe ????..., anyway I guess im just a little bit disappointed by these but I totally GET WHY THEY DIDNT DO ANOTHER similar style to their last models , im just not excited by these new ones..... sorry but I just cant see why youd buy these over the older model, unless of course folks want the latest and (pretty much never) the greatest ........... IMO still if u want a mini blocky set of MB get a set of miuraisms and forget any other club ever again !!!! but then again thse are 1/4 the price so well there is that.......................... caveat, i not hit them and will prob only do at a range. im about shape more than anything else bec here pretty much no such thing as a BAD jdm forged iron ! ofr my mind the older 2 models are a nicer look . EPON af tour new (ish) model good lord .....................what the FK happened here????????? picked these up ( for 1 second_) and said who the fk designed these and for what purpose?? they rounded and shrunk the original model and seems like quadrupeld the offset in them. they simply don't work!!!!!!!!!!! these are nasty horrible looking things AS FAR AS AN EPON CAN LOOK.... and I love epon, but whoever did these totally stacked an opportunity to make a competitive, stylish, expensive MB for the US mkt oh I presume these were aimed there ??????.............................. I don't wanna go into any more on these im still I shock by the butcher job they did on THE best easy to play Mb iron set of alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll time the original af-tour. im gutted........absolutely gutted by what CUDA/SHUDDA/WUDDA been a kille set of new mbs ,, honeslty they totally stacked it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MUZIIK mb now THESE are interesting........... they are BIG chunky and falcoursome, they are NOT blades, no way they are MBS and a big punchy set at that. they look great.. nice score lines with satin muscle. a topline semi thick, and offset that doesn't disturb them too much. yea id game these I wudnt buy them over a few others but yes I cud and wud game them for sure they are in the origina af tour line of MBs bit easier, bit larger, and id imagine a delightfull impact. mizuno mp5................. GETTING A SET end of chat , blew the rest away , PW is a thing of beauty not seen a better one. rounded sole, no offset, HIGH thicker topline frames the ball beautifully. IF theres a detractor its they are too soft and distance might not be quite as long as ud expect, bwahahahhahahahahahahaha. im in , alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll in.

Wedge bounce: high vs low
Gents ....... the bounce of your wdges makes a fricken ENORMOUS difference if u didnt know that already, I think I proved it sat. conds were good mid thick grass erring on tighter than fluffier at this time of the year. so ordinalriy id gale low bounce , but sat I had one of my rounds where I hit as many balls as humanly possible. I took 2 sets of wedges. just to see what is what old prgr tr03 high bounce 14*sw and 10 aw and prgr tr low bounce 8/10, very similar heads think maybe a year or two diff release, both with the same shaft NS m43 I tell ya it may have been left hand right handed in terms of similarity!!!!!!!!!!! the high bounce wedges have some ONSET to them. its a strange look bec although onset they have a gooseneck, its freaky but it works, these lauch LOW , I mean LOW, these are for hitting dead straight and just before the flag definitely not past the pin, they do not move in the air, I can not cut them in and its EXTREMELY hard to get funky with them . they are point shoot grip roll a bit stop. sort of like the SYARD bolds, I find these very similar in play style. I get the same results. both high bounce wedges. the low bounce ones are the polar opposite, , I can lay them open, hit cuts, draws anything I can think of , chips flops all of it , basically they are MILES more versatile, BUT with the versatility also cometh more variable results IF you don't swing em sweet. I found I hit the most consistent shots over the day with the higher bounce bunt shots as a rule but I got closer on tricky shots or shorter shots ( inside 50 yards ) with the higher bounced ones . the lower bounce wedges play best with high shots over the pin as they back up a fair bit when I hit these short the putt got very long very quickly BUT I had a ton more shots to decide on with lower bounce. from the bunker the diff is even more pronounced, with the lower bounce the ball ALWAYs comes out short so I had to really commit to hitting the ball harder to get the distance right, or I was missing the green short!.. with the higher bounce it was longer and thinning the ball I was struggling with , a mid fariway bunker like 50 yards from the green the high bounce blew the lower ones away for results but close by the green the opposite was true. what I discovered is I much prefer the higher bounce 52* GAP wedge and the lower bounce 56* . prob not everyones cup of tee mixing and matching wedges but it was pretty obvious to to me that that's how I play wedges best, which is vexing bec I kind of like matching pairs..... normally il game a set of wedges but in a match . now I know exactly what pairing suits my game it will be the high bounce 52 and the low bounce 56 with a super low bounce 60/61. was a good educational round sat. now, if I can only find where my once indispensably reliable cut/ fade 6 iron shot ive seemed to have lost went , id be a chance !!

Very special irons and iron head sets looking for a new home
the power thrust set of hogans, do u have any idea what they are made of and are they forged ? I LOVE the look of these , they wud be a good match for a cpl of my other older JDM MB sets.. im just a bit wary of the feel of these tho , I have tried the precision set but didn't like them at all, the felt pretty harsh ,. I did a review of them on here a few yrs back and was mortifed by the difference, given the ones I hit weren't re plated so that MAY(?????) make a difference. any info u can give wud be a help

golf heaven = JLPGA tourny course.
I received a nice invite to a LPGA track a cpl of weeks back , the course was in immaculate cond for the time of year ( cherry blossom season) and the clubhouse is a thing of beauty. greens at 10.5 on stimp and billiard table smooth. yards: 6890 blue tees great day , really great day out , we played 27 holes. we were in fine, fine form. 36/36/34 for the 3 nines. i. it cud have been anything this day with a bit more attention to detail. errrrgh missed a cpl of very makeable putts and my chipping was insanely good ( thank you tourstage x-wedges!) 8 birdies , 2 doubles , 2 bogies on the day AND........... 4 birds in a row on front nine to break ( smash) my birdie record in a round, -let alone on one nine- let alone-......... in.......a .......row!! anyway it was one of the bestdays out EVER on a course, hardly anyone out and a few nice liquid refreshments to follow! heres cpl of snaps of , JDM golf gold !
