Axis1 putters
supo replied to bngolfer's topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech Gear
ive been an axis since they came out 6 ish years ago ??? axis eagle 1 funky design but its 100 % face balanced and zero torque. had my best ever putting with this thing , never missed a putt , wud love a classy one of these made my some JDM co. it just feels cheap. but it does what its spsoed to with aplomb -
that 2 tmb I have pitured is quite offset... but my gawwwwwwwd does it feel good, long as well, makes an easy fairway shot, prob the easiest of them all. I had the newer honma di but it was a shovel to my eye, very nice feel again,. and workable as it was smaller, but its looks got the better of me and I ousted it not long after I got it. beautiful to look at / hold, but I t just didn't get me.... the new srixon , not sure of its model name looks VERY nice.. that will get a round or so this season im sure!

I love A DI, always got at least one floating about in a bag . 18/22* is my thing, higher than that I prefer a 4 iron. ive had so many over the years, a few have really stuck out but srixon , honma have been my go too's for the last few years. I have however expanded a cpl with non traditional DIs. I found a 3 iron fromm a set of PRGR speed irons that can only be said to be as close to eye candy as one cud imagine... os I had to have it NS SP orange stiff shaft and off to the races sat. As close to zero offset as you cud get. BLOWS traditional Di out of the water on this front , which means I can get WAY funkier with it, hitting cuts and draws are miles easier. I did notice I gave up a cpl of yards. but it was pretty moot really for the versatility it offered. from the tee it was an utter pleasure to hit ,feel is so soft its like hitting air. workability is unmatched,, mighbe a god or bad thing depending on your taste... but I love it. from e deck in mid winter it was good... a bit larger than ud prob like to hit, a 3 iron is a lot more amenable than this , but in summer with a nice soft lie oh man this will come alive!!!!!!!! will prob make best use of this back home on a cpl of tricky holes where a di is essential and the ute is a bit long. salivating at the thought when the days get a bit warmer.... heres a cpl I have sworn by over the years ....

just an aside, I shafted the 21* with a diamana stinger 70xs instead of the modus , just to see .. best decision ive made. first game with it on sat. 200-220 yards not a problem.. in fact it was a bit longer than I thought it was going to be flew 2 bloody greens with it . feel is a trillion times better than with the steel, but it does move about a bit more than with the steel. wont change the steel bec its a lok for the tees on par 4s.. both serve a great purpose. think these will/may..... take over ALL my spots for woods this season.

hhah58 that's great.! mine is simple.... give myself a FGHTING chance all the time .., ie... don't leave the ball short on putts that lower the score!!! I must have blown 50 thousand chances inside 10 feet last year. ahhhhhhhhhhhh such is golf!

took both the astro tours out on the weekend. the version 2 is an absiolute beast. Tbh a harder or rather faster swinger than I shud have this set up, I can activate it but JUST, theres so much more in the tank that my methodical swing doesn't utilize to the full , its a howler of a club , truly. by comapirson the verion 3 is a like a placement driver, I can shape that nicely . not a lot but more tan th V2. im really really liking playing this last cpl of weeks. last wekeeend I was on song with it big time. so much confidence with it now. head shape suits a course with twists and trnrs from the tee box. I wudnt take it out on a 7300 yard behemouth , bec theres better suited to that. but for a week I n out driver I like this as much as the ryoma d1

Winter/wet weather golf, do you play lighter shafts or heavier shafts?
supo replied to Ian-500's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
that's a big jump .. if im playing a lot then my tempo gets outta whack, esp. going heavy to light. if I mix and match each day, if its a once a week thing then no probs at all. I prefer heavier shafts, suits my swing tempo better, but in winter ill put the big dogs away and play light and airy and nothingelse, then I can re jig my tempo on range to the lighter shafts. btw NS 105x are a very stable shaft , ball doesn't like to go laterally very much. not the ebst feeling shaft, they are light and thin to hit u kinda don't get that lovely compression guuuuuuuuuush u get with the 130s or 120s.. but I cant falut their play, I played these in sydney a lot this year in ver ywidny conditions and they were a big surprise, normally ill used 120x on masda heads to keep it low, but I took these out with the IDBLs and was most anamoured -
I have last 2 models.. they are very aggressive on spin, thin bottom line makes for a real ability tio zip em, they a live back home now where its a bit sort, they aresueprb on tight lies... cant wait to get hold of these next season.

Definitely lighter shafts that launch higher simply bec golf strength is lower in winter than summer i m slower and need extra help to hit it high to land softer on rock hard greens. ns 125s to ns 105x works a treat for me -
Nippon modus3 Tour120 stiff .355" taper shaft question
supo replied to gregoire56's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
shimada x are VERY stiff/boardy. if u have soft heads .then awsome. kyoei haeds might not feel as good as we can build. miz/epon/ onoff. ohhyea, even miura sb01s were ..... thouhjt provoking with shim x shafs... think well -
taking 1-1.5 inch off the butt vs tipping a shaft will do what exactly ?? ie driver plays 46 to 46.5 inch ,don't want to cut the tip bec is SO good as is ( 2010 shingo labospec) but icant get the fookeeeen driver to work bec its only 310 grams @ 46 + inch I keep hooking the bejesus out ofi t, I know its not made for me, shingo isn't a big fella. but I LOVE this shaft and want to just cut the butt 9* head. but not sure if I can, dot want to waste a trip to the builder if its moot. thoughts ??

Nippon modus3 Tour120 stiff .355" taper shaft question
supo replied to gregoire56's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Nobs report on feel is spot on in my book as well ive got a cpl of sets of 120X and they don't feel at all ike an x. more like a semi stiff at best..... modus 125s are much tighter than 120x I have found and a totally different flight. soft step modus 130x are a GREAT shaft, I have a cpl of them in play at the moment. love them
