  1. Could someone compare the wyvern with the griffin?
  2. As fat as the yamaha line up goes, is this comparable to the 2010 v201 non-tour?
  3. Good review, Stew. Enjoyed it as usual.
  4. I'm with ya Stew. Thought the exact same thing about the wedges.
  5. Tiger is bagging the di still I think. The other shaft he's tinkering with this week is the kaili.
  6. I'm currently gaming an epon af-101 10.5* w/ ilima 60 stiff (could probably use an SR flex if diamana offered it b/c I load light). In terms of what I'm looking for... More of everything... Carry and roll out, hah! But seriously, I'm looking for higher initial launch but a flatter overall trajectory to get some more roll. I find that the ilima tends to get a little spinny when I go after it a bit. On wetter days, sometimes I find my tee shots behind the ballmark on the fairway.

    Thanks, Ant. Very thorough.
  8. Let me qualify this topic. It's easy enough to look up the various shafts and what the manufacturers say about them on my own. I've already done that. I'm in search of your guys opinions through personal experience. Again, which light weight shafts have proven themselves to perform, and in which ways: trajectory, carry, roll out, etc?
  9. As per the description in the proshop, the Crazy R D shaft is touted as one of, if not the most, stable light weight shafts of all time. There are several other manufacturers that make light weight shafts. Which of these are also good stable options in terms of light weight shafts for a swinger with 95 mph ss, smooth transition, and light load? If someone could equates a few various price points, it would be much appreciated.

Another endorsement for the Onoff woods by you, Chris. You must really be impressed by them.
  11. The Yamada website includes head specs for each of the designs, but I can't find any reference on shaft offset. Are all the plumbers necks full shaft offset and the goose necks half-shaft?
  12. Hahaha, maybe Mugen should redesign the aesthetics.
  13. Have all of these drivers been sold out through pre sale?
  14. I knew the Gloire would produce good results. Big TM forgiveness + more distance than US domestic + forged feel = winner. Just can't ever seem to get used to the white heads. I like the stealth look over this whimsical white, although the Gloire's lion emblem is a nice touch in marketing the products quality.

Why do you bother to choke down that much every shot off the tee? Why don't you just cut the shaft?

Dang, diarrhea, you want a tiny head w/ 8.5 And bb7? what's your, ss?

    What length is your driver?
  18. Shankopotamus replied to HULC1105's post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Ok, perhaps not against all logic, but certainly against the grain, where the trend as of late has been toward longer and longer drivers. The blurb on better energy transfer and consistency at shorter lengths is certainly true. But I think most people can make decent contact with a controlled swing, especially with how forgiving game improvement clubs are these days. It's my opinion that there would considerable distance loss decreasing your club length by 3-4 inches.
  19. Srixon makes quality clubs. My first set of forged irons were srixon i201s from over a decade ago now I think. Some of the best forgings I've had in my hands. They did it right from the beginning. Picked up a di from stew that's on it's way. I have no doubt it'll feel good and perform good as well.
  20. The Scions in the US don't look anything like that, haha. Is that one going to be released in the US for sure?

Ya, has to be a typo. Some uber secret technology aside, kinda goes against all logic.
  22. Between the Utes, which do you prefer, Chris, the Red or the Black?
  23. I currently game an af101. If you can pick one up at a bargain price, do it... no ifs, ands, or buts. It's as classic as a deep face, pear shaped 460cc driver will get. It's touted to be for the better player, but I think it's plenty forgiving for the average golfer that has aspirations to improve. The feel is FANTASTIC. As far as performance, it lacks absolutely nothing compared the more current models. Will you hit it as far as the Ryoma? Probably not, but it'll be hard to find a driver with the combination of great feel and above average distance, but then again, my philosophy to maximize distance is to make sure I'm fitted for the right shaft anyway. You can have something like a Ryoma, but w/o the right shaft distance will actually suffer. I recently just picked up a yammy v202, and I'm just hoping that it feels as good.
