Oh ok....i was under the impression that Crazy only made graphite iron shafts but i did a google and found a review and specs on the Crazy Steel 120 shaft, a rare bird for sure !

wow u guys are pretty darn long with the irons ! i can carry at most 185m on a warm day and i use 7.2 flex (rifle) currently !
  6. Any updates with the Crazy setup ??? The Crazy and Ryoma were on my to do list but ive got some serious magic working with my Kamui right now so all drivers on my to do list have been halted !

    Wow 190m (208 yds ) is a pretty long shot for a 5 iron.....If u use reg flex, how far do the x flex players hit a 5 iron 220m (241) ?
  8. Hmmmm.....use nippons and be a girl....hahahahhahaha......im guilty as charged, however i may even be worse, i play sp orange in x flex and sp blues in stiff, however i also game a set of rifle lite 7.0 and a set of mfs115 which feel like 8.0s...It doesnt make any sense but i rotate flexes based on how i feel....In the winter time, all i do is live in the weight room and when i do play, i prefer reg flex because i am stiff from lifting and its cold as heck outside and i need maximum carry when it is 39 deg farenheit ! * On a side note doesnt Ishikawa have a lot of girl fans ???? does that make u a girl as well ??? (Im a big Ishikawa fan myself)

If my Kamui Ray could only feel and sound like the epon 460zr, then i would have the ultimate driver !!! As for now i have to settle for distance forgiveness and the perfect trajectory ! ( hehe maybe the ryoma or Yamaha will be perfect )

Update.....went out to play 27 holes at Yocha dehe today, a very nice and long course.....it was super windy today so it was a good test in extreme conditions.....This driver simply works..it is a bullet into the wind and hits bombs with the wind behind it and most of all the face is superforgiving. A fairway finder that is super long....i give this driver a 9.5/10 If it sounded more muted, then it would be 10/10 I cant ask for anything more in terms of forgiveness, workability or distance !
  11. robbie replied to potuna's post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
totally agree on the 460zr, that driver really absorbed the ball and sent it out there.....I didnt get my longest drives with it but it definitely was a joy to hit and very forgiving !

i can relate somewhat to your situation. The epon 101 is defnitely soft but i found my callaway ft9 ta to be very soft, softest driver i have hit !!! Im gaming a Kamui Ray right now, it doesnt sound very good to me at all, too loud a driver for me, but the results are great !!! Long and forgiving and very predictable....i wish it sounded better but it feels nice !

i know some guys got it done but they were low profile type guys .....i guess guys with 27k in their pocket for clubs dont have much time for reviews...... : (

I havent heard about the T3 but i am gaming the international series and the T2 and they are very solid stable shafts with plenty of pop !!!!! They dont seem to impart much sidespin......The slices become gentle fades and the hooks become sweeping draws ......
  15. robbie replied to robbie's post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
the 27k club fitting involved clubs and everything with a ozik shaft i believe, including the uber expensive ozik iron shafts at that time, about 4k i believe.....I would have gone for it if i had the money but thankfully i had other vices such as cars woman and gambling !!!!! im sure that 27k was more fulfilling than that stupid Hermes purse i bought .............
  16. Epon and Yamaha.....haha you could flipflop my choices and i would not complain.......probably a wee edge to Yamaha....no worries about the putter !

yeah...you and me both......but stuff was expensive back then, rac protos were close to 3k and lehmans were 2k and 510 protos were 2k......and those oziks were pricey as well.....heck even those y cutters were like 300-400 a piece.....but i did manage to sell some of that crap while it was still popular, i figured i probably only spent/lost about 70k over 7 years.....and now im tighter than the skin on a hotdog ! : )

I think im more of a endo guy than a miura type ......The only set of miuras which i miss are my old trusty TM300 Lehman grinds......Those were some nice clubs !!! As for irons, i have the yamaha vtour forged on my wish list but im going to wait a lil bit. im still rectycling some of my old jdm stuff from the closet ! The MR23 and the EPon Technity Type1 are in the front runner slot and my customs mp33 are next up !!!! Just got a set of Nippon orange peening in x2, those are some mighty smooth shafts !

Wow, i was not expecting much but i was very impressed with the Kamui Ray driver ! Im not sure how it will perform on a course yet but it sure was hitting nice piercing balls at the range albeit the 42 degree chilly weather. Ive pretty much hit every driver under the sun but it has been awhile since i have been back to JDM clubs. My first run with JDm clubs was about 7 years ago and at that time i fell in love with tourstage x5000, MR23,TS201,TS202 and Mizuno, namely the TN87, MP29, MP33, MP27, MP32 TZoid Pro.etc.....But somehow i moved away to BSG, basically because tere was a lot of energy and talk and reviews and hype. Boy am I a sucker for hype, I must have spent close to 100k at that site before i realized that, Todd is a crook.....Haha i definitely am not the brightest when it comes to buying. TSG was always a top class site but for a few years the activity was real slow and there were no passionate guys out there who were active. But i moved on to WRX and there was quite a community there and it was a lot of fun but then it got too big and OH I should mention that i was banned for a couple of months. Sigh, i had the nerve to talk back to a golfwrx staffer. You will never guess what the topic was about ????? ANyways i wandered over here and wow, this site has some guys who are really passionate and informative about equipment ! I was initally hooked by gocchin (sp). He has brought so much life back to this site but i see now that there are guys like supo and spoon and perhaps a few dozen guys who enjoy high end equipment and give honest reviews about the rare JDM equipment out there ! Damn im hooked, i havent been this excited since i owned 57 sets of MR23 CBs !!!!!!! : P *Hopefully i see guys like siteseer and demolitionman and gth and sevenbirdies on here soon !! OH haha back to the review of the Kamui driver, the driver i am reviewing is 9.2 degrees and 45.5 inches equipped with a Attas T2 6S, My swing speed is about 102-112, the 112 speed is really a swing, im just lashing at the ball and hoping for contact. A honest swing speed for me would be about 106. I am about 6'1 180 with the shortest arms on this continent !!!! I rotate about 4 drivers right now, the epon 101, 910D3, FT9-TA and the Yonex 380....The first 3 drivers are equipped with the Di7 and the yonex has a Attas 8s in it. I also have backup drivers of the same model with Ali Islei. The Ray might be almost perfect but i wont be able to confirm until i get it out on the course on a warm day. In terms of length, the Yonex is the longest. It does not carry the furthest but man it runs forever on hard fairways. The Ft9TA is not far behing but it achieves everything through the air, all carry. The 910D3 is sneaky long, i can never tell whether i hit it good vs when i hit it great. The 910d3 works well but is not very satisfying in the feel dept. The Epon 101 is a strange creature, it feels wonderful and sounds great and is forgiving and drives the ball really well. The reason it is not in the bag is because i get zero roll. When i go after the epon, it always results in a big slice. For smooth swinging days i prefer the epon and for normal tournament golf it has to be the ft9TA...The yonex has been in the bag the shortest amount of time but it certainly performs the best, it hits hot balls and is easy to control in terms of direction. In fact this should be my ultimate gamer but it too has its weak point. The weak point on this driver FOR ME is that it is not very forgiving ! If i miss the sweet spot which is about the size of a quarter, i lose about 20-40 yards of carry. Distance lost depending on how much i missed the sweet spot by. I have a hunch that i miss the sweet spot about 20% of the time beacuse A) im not that good a golfer B) i have erratic tempo C) Im old and im never sure how much of me actually shows up on any given day D) the shaft has a weird kick point and it throws my rhythm off. In terms of feeling, the Kamui felt great, very forgiving and the shaft and i seemed to get along from the start. The Kamui felt very hot as well, I had to google to make sure it was conforming !!!!! it definitely hits like it is nonconforming. The ball leaves the tee in a hurry and the thwack is a bit hollow and sounds a bit high pitched ( probably due to the frozen tee balls and enclosed range) I like the trajectory, forgiveness, and distance. This club is very well balanced. Oh and forget the headcover, it looks like a cover u get from a driver costing $19.99 at a sports discount store. Since im back to JDM, I hope to purchase a crazy 435, a yamaha 420, and a ryoma in the near future.......( But it is going to take a lot of work to kick either the Yonex or Kamui out of the bag !)

i agree, generally every half inch equals 3 swing points........I doubt a shaft weighing 10 grams would move the swing weight more than 1-1.5 SW.....to get the SW up, the weight is placed in the head, it would take a very heavy shaft to move the swingweight loss from 1"....... @supo....how about trying a steel shaft ??????? im planning on sticking a steelshaft into my yonex 380 and playing it at 43.75"
  22. robbie replied to charge's post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
ive been eager to try the kamui 420 myself but no luck....i did get a Kamui 456 Ray that should be here by friday ! hopefully a crazy 435 or jbeam shows up in the BST soon
  23. i think it is a nice putter but the price seems pretty high. At that price point, i would rather have the tour issue scottys rather than the tour experimental prototype.
  24. If i knew there was a club that would get me 8-10 yards while being as accurate as my gamer, I would pick it up in a heartbeat, My previous gamer was a ft9-TA and it flat out hit some bombs for me. Then i got the yonex 380cc and that has increased my drives on avg of about 10-15 yards. However it is a distance gain which has its price ! The mis**ts are much shorter and the long shots are due to the increased roll out from the yonex. I was debating over the Ryoma but the Crazy 435II seems to be calling me !

    damn nice driver !
