  4. I went to E watts yesterday to check my combo on the sim and to compare it to stock offerings. First I realize that even a $45000 simulator is not like a track man in terms of accuracy. I also wanted to hit the US sldr 460 and 430 driver. I tried both with the stock taylormade shaft. Spin was 3600 to 3800 rpms at a Swing speed of 107 to 108. Now bear in mind these offerings are rumored to be spin killers. Both heads had a decent feel and OK distance. So I try a Quadra LD60 on both heads. Spin dropped to 2400 to 2600 instantly. Never tell me that the shaft is not a Major part of any club. On a side note the 460 version was as long as my 2014 Gloire with the quadra shaft. That was a bummer but the feel and forgiveness of the Gloire is unmatched. I guess in the end that is what I really paid for. Well and the excellent craftsmanship and cool head cover. I game this shaft this weekend and hopefully I will know if it is a keeper but yesterday did prove that the shaft does reduce spin big time. Now if I could only demo a GD MT6 before making a purchase. That is the only other shaft that is rumored to be a perfect fit for this head.
  5. Thanks again for the info. I game the quadra fire express this weekend. Last weekend was bad. Short round Saturday and a Sunday wash out.
  6. I game the fire express ld today 60 gram version. Please share you info. The 4u is an interesting choice. I am looking at the mt6 so please pass on the experience.
  7. That makes sense. Guess I forgot what target audience this was aimed at. But fast swingers need forgiveness to. I am glad I picked mine up at a decent price. At least I have a little room for a better shaft.
  8. Okay I have been touting the Gloire head as the best I have ever hit. I am also curious about the woods. However I must say that it is disappointing that these heads need a different shaft to really come alive. Pretty pricey stuff to have such average shafts in them. I would love to try the 3 wood or a hybrid but geez then I have to drop another $300 in a shaft. Kind of silly. This technology is really something special but TM needs to put real, quality shafts in them to start.
  9. Works only with new style adaptor R1, Sldr, rbz stage 2
  10. Thanks to idrive I have a Quadra Fire express coming for the weekend rounds. He believes it will knock the spin down and give me great distance. Jeff seems to know his stuff so I am excited. Hopefully i will get to play both days this weekend but Sunday is sketchy due to possible rain.
  11. did not know about the new line just the original. thats why i posted that.
  12. The z9003 seems to be for high swing speeds. I saw 110 and up on their website. Too much for me. No idea about the new speeders.
  13. It will work but I am not sure if all settings are truly accurate. The ADDI that it tried had the R1 adaptor. The sldr adaptor looks like the factory Gloire model.
  14. The sldr adaptor is better. The R1 has so much extra options that it is not a good fit.
  15. Bill, My buddy plays The R1 with a graphite design ADDI shaft. It is very long but he can be erratic because it does not seem to be super forgiving. I have hit this club and there is no comparison in terms of feel.
  16. I must add that this head is very workable. I can hit a fade or a draw whenever I choose. Now obviously this is assuming that I am swinging halfway decent. Four bogeys today came from the fairway due to poor iron shots. I was in trouble twice today from the driver and honestly one was poor aim and the other was just a crappy swing. I am sold but I do want to try more than one shaft to get this baby optimal.
  17. 18 holes in today. Very wet in fairways here in middle Kentucky. 8 out of 11 fairways. 1 fairway missed due to my poor aim. I wanted to hit a fade but I did not give myself enough room around a very large tree on the right. It nicked a limb and shot right into a hazard. I am still very excited about the feel and forgiveness of this club. The Bassara hawk was mid launch at 9.5. I lowered the loft and it was just too low a launch. I do not think this combination is spinning a lot because I still was able to get some roll out even in semi-wet fairways. Right now I will stand by my earlier comment that this is the best head that I have ever tried. Jbeam long but so much better feeling and forgiving. I may try a GD mt6 or a used Quadra from Idrive.
  18. Not yet. Today was a good day with the Bassara. At 9.5 it was still mid launch. I hit a few bombs. I found a lot of fairways. 8 out of 11. One drive nicked a branch and flew away from the fairway into the hazard. This club is hard to get into big trouble. I still may try a quadra or GD mt6.
  19. Motore ts and Miyazaki black were similar for me. The Miyazaki had a little better feel. Not much either way for me.
  20. Just had a chance to weigh the Gloire with the Bassara Hawk. 301 grams. Feels much better all the way around. Playing an unfamiliar course today SOOO we will see but I love how it feels in practice swings. I like my drivers at 300 to 310 in terms of total weight.
  21. The only reason I am even looking at this head is that I fight spin. It is a swing flaw but I cannot seem to fix it. Now to be fair I have a lot of testing to do with the Gloire in terms of shafts before I label it a high spin head. I don't think it is. I am a solid 7 handi but I can tell you that on off days I need all the forgiveness that I can get. The Gloire is forgiveness for days so now I hope to get the spin down and keep it. I had a tour issue razr hawk that was super long on center hits but that was it. On good days it was a bomber on bad days it was bad!
  22. I have heard that the sldr is not forgiving! What do you all think?
  23. Well my bassara hawk is adaptor ready for the Gloire head. It looks great. I play 18 tomorrow so I am excited to see if this is a good combo. Feels good and a little heavier than the stock shaft. It plays 45.5 so I like that much better.
