Another crazy Royal dec proto 531 review
Well I had to try it I had the Adams adapter put on the crazy shaft to try it with the Adams head. With the 531 it was a little longer than the Miyazaki black but it still was no comparison to the RBZ head. I could only get one or two shots to fly over the net all the others were short. Now I need to find a tour issue RBZ head that I can afford. It surprises me how high these heads are on eBay and everywhere else

Yes it is a super shaft. I noticed the big miss was not way right. It was definitely easier to hit a draw as well.

Another crazy Royal dec proto 531 review
I just got this in from a fellow member here. It is the SX flex 531 model. It looks as though there may be extra tape with the grip. it feels thicker and a little heavy at the butt end. I plan to get another grip today. my goal was to use this shaft with my Adams fast12LS Tour issue. it is a great feeling head with the hot melt added. it easily feels as good as any JDM that I have owned. I have owned many JDM heads. I was not certain that it was the longest head that I have hit so I went to the range for a test. Now I realize this is not apples to apples but The Proto 531 came with a Taylormade adaptor so I used a demo RBZ tour head to test. For me the RBZ tour was the longest head that I have used so far this year. However the retail version feels terrible. Also it is very loud at impact which I do not care for as well. The Adams has a Miyazaki Black 61 in stiff flex in it. Very solid shaft. After hitting about 35 balls head to head it was No contest. The RBZ was longer by 15 or more yards with the Proto 531. The Adams just could not keep up in carry distance. The net is about 254 to carry and only 2 drives with the adams made it that far. The RBZ flew the net many times. Toe hits with the RBZ where also less punishing. Bottom line- Do you all believe it was the Proto shaft that gave the RBZ the edge?? At this point I plan to buy a Tour issue RBZ head OR should I try the RD proto in the Adams head. If I knew the Adams would equal the RBZ with the proto 531 in it then it is a no brainer. The adams has a much better sound and feel but I cannot leave 15 or more yards on the table. To add to my confusion I have read many claims that the Tour Issue RBZ head is much better than the retail due to a lower launch and lower spin. With my swing fault I fight spin constantly with the driver. The proto 531 is a super shaft and I would rather not jack around with different adaptors if possible. Thoughts from the experts!!!

Crazy shaft fitted to rocketballz.......
Again I must say that testing the RBZ driver with the stock shaft is not going to work for those who are looking for max performance. no way I would have gamed this driver with the stock shaft. I do have the 3 wood now but the first thing to go was the stock shaft. I have a Bassara wyvern in it and it is a beast. 2 drives yesterday of 258.

I agree. The stock shaft was junk. Just terrible! Glad I gave it more time with better shaft offerings.

Crazy shaft fitted to rocketballz.......
Just an update for anyone who may be interested. I took my RBZ tour with the tour spec motore speeder to a launch monitor. I do this with any head/shaft combo that could be a gamer after extensive out door testing. The best numbers I have achieved so far was the crazy 460 with a Miyazaki Indigo. backspin was 3200 with a 12* launch. Carry was about 255 with a total of 273. The RBZ combo topped any driver that I have ever hit. backspin was 2455 with a carry of 259 totaling 279. I have never been able to achieve low backspin numbers before. I cant wait for dry conditions to see what real world roll will be. I cant say enough good things about this combo. I would like to try the Gloire head but if it did not work out I know I would take a bath on resale.

Crazy shaft fitted to rocketballz.......
Sorry my post was confusing. I would love to try the Gloire head with the Wyvern shaft. From tourspec's post it does not sound as though the Gloire head is any longer than the other TM heads. Just longer due to shaft length and weight. For me 46 inches is the max and that can get out of hand on a bad day.

Oh I think the Wyvern is a keeper. It is very stable. I can't overpower this one.

Crazy shaft fitted to rocketballz.......
Sorry to revive a thread that may be dead. I have another 36 holes in with the US TMade RBZ. I now have the Bassara Wyvern shaft in it. Folks it is longer than anything that I have hit. The shaft is smooth and I did gain another 15 yards over the tour spec motore speeder. I am now looking at the Gloire. Could I expect even more yards with the Gloire with a better shaft??????

Royal Deco and LY 02 info requested.
good to know. i can see a 114 or 120 MPH swing struggling with a light shaft but I am not in that universe. I picked up 4 mph going from a 72 to a 60 gram shaft. I have to believe a 51 gram shaft would give me faster SSpeeds and more distance as long as the shaft is stable and high quality. I did mis report concerning the RBZ loft. It was set at 7.5* and 9*. The 9* was still good but with increased shoulder turn I was getting a little too high in ball flight. Still it was not a balloon ball. The 7.5 was a nice mid launch that really looked good and long. I hit the net several times on the fly and it is 259 yards in the air. Not bad for a short hitter like me.

Lightweight driver shafts
Goochin is correct. My max SS is 108. I tried the RBZ driver with a 58 gram Wyvern in tstiff. I loved it and was getting 15 or more yards out of it. It felt smooth and very stable. I have tried Crazy cb, bangvoo 260cpm, quadra 65s, real Ahina 70s, Kaili 60s, oban Kiyoshi 65xstiff and GD ad-Di stiff and x flex. The Bassara is as stable and more smooth than most of the others. No ballooning or mega high launch. I really want to try a Royal deco SX flex now. The RBZ is a high launch head but my best results were at 8*. I am not sure now how to resist the crazy RD. it has to be as stable or better and provides more kick.

I am confused by the info here concerning the RD but I am excited by my range session. I just got in a Bassara Wyvern 53 in tour stiff. The actual weight is 58 grams. I hit about 35 shots each comparing this shaft to my current gamer Motore Tour spec Speeder which actually weighs in at 67 grams. I did a total weight with each shaft and the Bassara/RBZ combo was 11 grams lighter. I had a 14 mph wind from left to right that helped some from its angle. Using range rocks that are over a year old. The Motore looks better in the club but it was no contest. The Wyvern is smoother and very stable. I swung hard at several and the shaft handled it great. I never felt as though it was out of control. The Wyvern on pure hits was 15 to 18 yards longer. It was a little hard to see but there was rollout as well. No balloon balls or stupid high launch. I tried the head at 9* and down to 8*. I liked the 8* setting better and had no fear of ballon balls. I will game the Wyvern for 27 holes tomorrow but from the range session it is a clear winner. Now I am really curious about a RD in SX flex. With the adaptor it should come in at 51or 52 grams. If it is even more stable than the Wyvern it should handle anything I can give it.

Crazy Royal Dec Shaft Users Feedback Please
That is what Tario stated. I guess I am trying to convince myself that it will work.

Not sure if this helps but I am considering the RD SX flex. My SS is 102-108. I am afraid that if I go too soft then it will launch too high and get no roll. From the chart I may be a touch too stiff but at this weight I still believe that would be the way to go. I have gamed the ADDI in stiff and X flex and could not see much difference. That was in a 6 version. I know that a lighter shaft does help once you dial in the tempo. My fear is getting a flex that is too soft and never being comfortable going for it.

Crazy Royal Dec Shaft Users Feedback Please
I know many on this site are very loyal to JDM driver heads. I understand and respect that. I have gamed Ryoma,Crazy,Yonex and Kamui. Quality and feel are the best that I have tried when compared to any US model driver. That being said I have to admit that right now I am killing the new Taylormade RBZ tour driver. Now it is not in the class of JDM in terms of feel. But it is long for me. Longer than any JDM that I have tried. It is also forgiving, this really shocked me. When I can get 270 into a 17 MPH wind in 57* weather I know I have a winner. I knew after gaming it 54 holes that it was as forgiving and longer than anything that I have tried. So now I am thinking of trying a lighter shaft to gain more SS and yardage. I really want to try the Crazy RD. I have a SS of 102-108 max. I do not swing out of my shoes but I am not super smooth either. I like to crank it up and go for it when my swing is on. Can I handle the Crazy RD in a SX flex. I like the feel of lighter shafts. The head weighs in at 193 grams and I currently have a 67 gram Motore Speeder in this club. Cmon Crazy RD users help me out. Tario is ready for my order. As a side thought I am very curious about the Gloire. If it is longer than the US RBZ then it will be in my bag. Tario(Goochin) has been so patient with me. He has answered many questions that I have had and has always gave me sound advice. I know these guys are in business to sell clubs but it is nice to know that he will not give out bad advice just to make a sale. Thanks again.
