Maximia Type V review.
Great review Mjr Given the arsenal of Drivers you have tried this is certainly a big wrap for the Maxima. Particularly the wind comments. Hope they sort out the closed face issue. For that sort of dough you expect to get what you order

What is the difference between the jBeam 435 and the 435 II?
Mate Tried both of these at the Crazy factory. In the words of the Crazy guys. The 435II is much more forgiving, higher launching and draw biased. Pretty much the exact opposite of what I had found. This is whatbthey wanted to put me in to. I have found the 435II to ne one of my favourite looking heads. It looks just outright mean. For me it is not as long, not as straight. If I was going ok with the 435 then dont change.

Craig' Excellent Japan Adventure Part 2: Crazy Factory and Buchi Fittings
Yeah Had a great day at both these places. Crazy is like a smorgasbord of clubs and shafts. Pretty much got everything one could want to hit. Their showroom is also pretty amazing. Their bags truly turn heads. Buchi is interesting. Certainly would not like to try and find it on my own. Went up to the office/showroom then taken to a secret location in the factory for the fitting. Hardest thing here was having to aim to the right of centre. I found it difficult. Was stunned at how different the Buchi head was to the Crazy Drivers considering they are made of the same material. Overall a great couple of days. Just got to pay for it now. Anyone need a kidney.........

Crazy labomba shaft snapped help!!!
I have an absolute plethora of Crazy shafts. Some bought new, some used. To be honest, I have lost count of the number of times they have been pulled, re used etc. Some more than a dozen times. Some of these Crazy shafts have seen more action than mine. The only one I have ever had break was in my Crazy 435. My top dog and I had never touched it. Bought it secomd hand and it just snapped. But this was after much, much use. I have no complaints. You just cant beat bad luck and I would say based on my experience, it is unlikely to happen again.

Lexus vs Merc
Craig replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearIn my opinion you cant beat the Lexus for outright reliability. The mercs win for outright luxury and coolness. The Audis, well they are like the inbred cousins. The LFA well I have driven one. It is what it is. Fast and useless Sound wise, the Lexus ISF is pretty darn hard to beat

face progression... blades
Mate My criteria are almost identical to yours. I am staring at my 2 current sets. Miurism SB 01 and custom Mizuno MP 69 If I had to pick I would choose the Miurisms every time.

You Guess the Wedge.. You GET IT!!
Geotech square bite Non conforming, a bit chunky and in my opinion the best bang for your buck wedge on the market.

Number 2 Crazy 435
10 OnOff 9. Epon Zero 8. Ryoma 7. crazy 460 6. S Yard 388 5. Crazy 435 II 4. Crazy 425 Solid Contacts 3. Yamaha V440 2. Crazy 435 Cant say much more than what has already been said. Sets the benchmark and has done so for a few years. The Frankel of Drivers. Heck even the golf buggy goes faster with this in the bag. Nambo and I bought this originally because, yes it was cheap. We thought the shaft would not suit, but hell we wanted to see what all the talk about this Driver was. After all it cant be longer than what we already have.! we can play around with some shafts and see what happens. Needles to say it has never left my sight since. The interesting thing with this combo is that my first few drives of the day are always straight pull lefts. Always. Gives a mid launch and surprisingly the more you play it, the more forgiving it is. Of the top dogs I find it the most forgiving and is really the only one I would consider gaming. My usual bad shot is that pussy weak leaking right one. With this it tends to be a mixture. A bit like the Forrest Gump chocolate line. You never know what you are getting. I often talk about risk V reward. With this, the risk is there, but boy oh boy so is the reward. one thing with this head is that when you hit it in the sweet spot, you know it and the ball truly goes as far as you thought it would. Seriously if you can tame this head then the search is nearly over. Even then, dont turn your back, it will bite back. A lot of players of my standard probably play this head purely for the distance it gives. Probably for the ego as well. Those low handicappers who play this, you know thse real good players, well I envy them

Best Place to get fitted in Tokyo?
Have been to Victoria golf in Shinjuju multiple times, the last time being in April and they do not carry any epon accessories or gear at all. Great place for a sticky though as expensive.

Number 3 Yamaha V440
10 OnOff 9. Epon Zero 8. Ryoma 7. crazy 460 6. S Yard 388 5. Crazy 435 II 4. Crazy 425 Solid Contacts 3. Yamaha V440 Bought this one cheap as well to try. Was hard for me as I thought the shaft would not suit, and I have no great love for Yamaha Drivers. They just dont do anything for me. A bit like red headed chicks. Tried a heap of them and they are not for me. Same goes for the Yamahas. However this combo bucks the trend. Sadly, due to my ignorance, dont know the year etc but perhaps some of our more learned colleagues can help me out. Mid launch, tons of roll but for me loves the right side. Strange this one. Even when you hit it straight, it looks like it wants to change course, almost like its searching for the free beer. Of the Yamaha heads I have hit, I find this to be both the longest and most forgiving. I dont think I have hit the 2012 or 2013 models, which have been suggested must be in my top 10. I have no doubt they are great heads. Probably equally good for prostate stimulation as well. Thought it must be the shaft so tried it in other Yamaha heads, and other heads overall. None worked Tried other shafts in this, none worked. Straightened it up, but alas, no length to speak of. The Diamana X is also a good match for me in this head, but launch is too low. Overall a just combo that works for me
-
Have you tried your BOLD Wedge?
I am glad these are working out for some. Have had mine for quite a while now and have played them exclusively. Cant make them work. Tried my trusty crazy wedge shafts which I have been using for eons, still a no go zone. Cannot get 2 shots to do the same thing. Inconsistant is what I would say. Feel great, look great and occasionally work great So back to the crazy or Yururi raw wedges for me

Number 4 Crazy 425
10 OnOff 9. Epon Zero 8. Ryoma 7. crazy 460 6. S Yard 388 5. Crazy 435 II 4. Crazy 425 Solid Contacts Only bought this recently as it is an older head. Sitting in the corner of a Tokyo golf shop. Pretty much alone, like a kid sitting in the naughty corner. Unloved, unwanted. Heck even the spiders avoided it My learned partner in crime, supo, says " buy that, it will feel great, but its not the longest out there and its dirt cheap. The shaft is worth more than that. Dont know why I got rid of mine" This is the top end of town here, so it is a real shock. Didnt buy it with any real expectations or hopes. Pretty much not thinking anything really. Couldnt take my eyes off the price sticker. Bit like at a topless beach. Like girls, I've always thought you get what you pay for. I was wrong. wish I had the same luck with renters. Interestingly from this Driver onwards, all have been bought cheap to simply try. Not one of them has been bought to my specs or shaft choice etc. Free plug here for the JBeam 425 for $499. Its cheap, worth a go. For that price anyway. Launches higher than I expected, and gives plenty of roll as well. I really like this head as it gives me what I consider the ideal launch. That being mid to high. Thought this would be a low launch combo. Shows how good a judge I am. As I have mentioned before, I am trying to get a higher launch with my Driver..... and along comes this. Maybe all those days in Sunday school are finally paying off !!!!!!!! Best way to describe this is business like with great feel. Like Jenna Jameson in a suit. Never get that wow, I've smashed that feeling. Not talking about Jenna, unfortunately. A couple of minutes later though it is often followed by "It cant have come this far" Are you sure thats my ball. It is more forgiving than you would expect, but if forgiveness is what you are after, I suggest Sunday confessional. Even karl Marx could hit this right No shaft experimentation as of yet and I am really unsure of what to try. The TJ 46 is also a shaft that I thought was not for me. Maybe I should do something really, really stupid and just leave it like it is.

Number 5 Crazy 435 II
10 OnOff 9. Epon Zero 8. Ryoma 7. crazy 460 6. S Yard 388 5. Crazy 435 II Man when you pull this out the worms start digging, the grasshoppers wear helmets, even the grass stops growing Low,Low,low Even when you look at it evil thoughts enter your head. Have seen little or no love for this and for a long time I agreed. Bought this as I rated the 435 and thought the second version should be longer. Believed the talk that it was new and improved and would surpass the 435. It was only when it was suggested that i try the long drivers high launch shaft that I thought much of it. That extra height and feel turned this into a beast. Theres also the mindset. Something about stepping up and thinking "This is what all the big hitters use". Maybe that chest puff and head swell...... Low to mid launch, at best, but runs like a kenyan marathoner. Not for the faint hearted though. I find it to be, after the Zero, the most unforgiving head I have hit. Results for me are very shaft dependant. For me I need that launch. Without it I am a shot duck. If we were talking about consistantly long drivers then this, like the Zero would not be here. On its day though, or more correctly, on my day, this could outdrive Mark Webber. This is the one head that I would love to see a good player hit.
