  1. One thing about Scratch - people have a few hang ups about paying $1000 for a set of irons the vast majority of people have not heard of. I say - get over it! Titleist offer a similar program in which you get custom fit & ground irons but you pay $25,000 for it (called TPI I think) MacGregor used to offer it and it was $10,000 for just a set of irons, and Scratch will working with you to produce whatever you want, however you want it. Just my take, Patrick
  2. Just wondering if anyone could help with advice/jobs/accommodation/etc. First a little about me, currently an undergrad an University College Cork (Ireland),last summer spent on the Cape working in a hotel & had the time of my life. This summer I am flying into SF with 5 friends & we all have J1 Visas. Any help you could give me with where to stay, what to do, where NOT to go, what kind of jobs to try would be very much appreciated. Patrick
  3. Wow Chris, those putters really caught my eye. I personally am a huge fan of the head shape of the Anser 0, I prefer the rounder look. Reminds me quite a bit of the Tour Zero headshape (IMHO the best Newport shape head in the universe) Can I ask why its SS304 body and SS303 for the insert? ie why is it not all SS303? Cost?
  4. JLM - those are Jeff's initials, I was lucky enough to have a 53* over the summer and it was really sweet.
  5. great putter Steve, thanks a lot!
  6. John - glad you got Scratchified  just take some proper pics eh!? :surprize:

I was just flicking through some ebay auctions and found some really sweet equipment... It just got me thinking what I would do if I had the money: I would love to try the following: X-Drive 2 340cc Pro Spec 9.5* with Graphite Design M-65 Stiff Mizuno Custom Ground Zero Offset, thinned topline + rounded toe, MP-27 & 32 Combo set 2 - 9 with DG X-100s Gauge Design Tour Zero Black Finish 345gram head weight I think I could make do with a Sonartec 3 wood and my Scratch wedges but these clubs are the :surprize: :surprize: IMHO
  10. Great set there - I might just have one like it on the way
  11. Bernard, I think you would love this shaft, & a JK install is just  I think the specs are close to this: 70 - 75 grams 2.0*- 2.2* torque but doesnt feel too boardy mid-high kickpoint One of the best shafts ever made apparently & one that JK has had a lot of success installing.... (I was looking at this driver myself!!)

Still debating as to what iron I should get, have listed the Nikes for sale but am undecided.... The 05 RAC TPs are looking quite promising, any more opinions?
  13. Thanks for the pics - tha A1SP does not for me at all. Too industrial looking, bring back the Tour Zero
  14. We seem to be going in opposite directions! I am looking for a CB and you are looking to Blades. Wanna trade?

I am thinking about getting a new set of irons. I love my current ones from the fairway but am finding it real tough to hit out of the rough. I am not looking for miracle clubs & I actually dont look for a huge amount of forgiveness in the general sense. Moreso a "bulkier" head that I can hit from light rough. Perhaps it is a swing thing, I come in to the ball quite shallow but I think that a CB could help... Anyways, to add a bit of direction to this post - I am looking for a CB/Combo set with: Thin Topline Very Low Offset Rounded Toe A reasonably large cavity (muscle cavity ala TP 2005?) Confidence inspiring at address The clubs that have caught my eye are the J33 Combos & the RAC TP 2005s & also the Scratch 2005 AR-1s. Any opinions out there?
  16. Yes I am indeed - why do you ask?
  17. Bernard-this Rory coming through for you again? The Nike Blades should run at about $800 if you can prove Tour Issue/Miura Forged (there are a lot of sets out there with no serials but are just retail heads) The T60 has the Tiger factor & if it doesnt have the I on top it could fetch $650 + Wedges wont pick up much at all, maybe $100 each. This is just my opinion but I think Im right :surprize:
  18. would love a comparison pic between it & the SM490A too
  19. pic at address please!
  20. Vokester - please tell me you are not suggesting what I think you are suggesting! :spit:
  21. Chirs - any chance YOU could snap a pic of the putter at address? Your pics are a lot better than the one there
