Scratch Wedges
I was lucky enough to get two of the very first Scratch wedges made. They are a unique concept & one I felt would benefit my game. The wedges came and they looked great, the finish was eye catching, the grind suited me perfectly, the feel was unparalleled and I had a wedge I could finally call my own. However there were a few drawbacks. The Satin finish was incredible to look at, but after a few weeks it began to wear. The wet, salt air on the West coast of Ireland is not conducive to golf clubs! The wedges are real nice and simple, but the shape was just off to my eye. What happened? I met up with Ari & Jeff at Pacific Dunes and I get a brand new Raw 54*. Ari just got a new machine - I think its called the "tumbler" Whatever it is called - its well worth it. The new wedge was sleeker, sexier, more refined. In essence, Ari has improved on so-called "perfection" and I dub this "Scratch 2.0" The finish is smoother, the heeling edge grind is sharper (to the eye) and it is also a lot more durable. Everything about this just screams quality. While playing with Jeff I got talking about different shapes. My new Scratch is more Vokey-esque in the topline. It is a little thinner & tighter at the heel. The leading edge suits my eye a lot better now - its only probably a few mm in difference but what a difference! All in all I could not be happier with my new 54* - its got to the stage that I use it from everywhere & my old 59* is obsolete. Thankfully I am working on a solution for that as we speak - a new 59* with the tumbler/Vokey style grind :surprize:

670 Specials
I am selling my dream set of irons! I need the money and I am in the mood for a set of CBs They are the 670 head which is a traditionally shaped blade, with very limited offset, and a high COG. That is the set retail but mine are "special" First off they are finished in Tour Satin Chrome by a top class company (not Iron Factory) They heads have been custom ground to for more of a standard player They are blueprinted with Rifle Project X 6.5s that have been soft stepped The specs are +1/2@ 2* upright but I have a complete spec sheet if neccessary Grips are Lamkin Crossline Cords +1/32@ Ropund installed logo down Condition I would put at 8.5 - 9 out of 10 Pics will be coming shortly Entertaining offers at around 900 but will listen to trades. I am in tthe States now so shipping is fine (not Ireland) Patrick

Quick Question
I am looking for the Tour Cameron shop - I think its called Eagles Golf USA but it could be something different. I am in California right now & want to visit - does anyone have an address?

Tourstage is driving me crazy
Tourstage - they have this air of mystique linked to their clubs. Be it the holographic MR-23 logo, majestic forgings/feeling, or sheer style - they have it all. I have 2 Tourstage clubs - both MARU clubs. The 2 iron is the MR-23 CB and I still love it, have it over 6 months now and it just allows me to hit so many shots. Nothing feels as pure Next we have the MARU. I hate to use other people's analogies but the MARU is the stunning blonde, perfect figure, but very high maintance and not a lot going on between the ears! Its a great looking 370cc head - it plays true to loft - is longer than anything I have hit so far - it launches on a beautiful flat trajectory.... BUT you have to be on your game for every shot with it. There is no give in it and for me (reason I got rid of it) it is very hard to draw. Case and point - Ari had the R7 TP set up with all the weight on the toe, and he hooks it yet he cant draw the MARU.

wedge refinishing
its not that we dont know any - its that we get the same debate whenever this comes up. Golf Psychos are meant to be good (not sure) but they are very expensive. Iron Factory were the King, then went to the dogs but do seem on the up and up now. On a related note ALL satin finishes are electroplated, not just the "Electrosatin" finish :D

Which Japanese Forged Irons are the best?
JK's driver ... I think its the TM 420 Burner Tour - not that I am stalking him or anything
-
Tour Pics
he attacked the 18th fairway after he hit a bad shot. I am not saying I am perfect, but his behaviour was out of line. And every single commentator picked up on it

Picked up my Scratch wedge yesterday
i thought it said "god" woops congrats on the wedge! a lot more shots are available a lot easier now im sure

Tour Pics
I dunno. I dont like him - he seems too full of himself. And what he did in the US Open was just plain out of line. So what if he makes it on tour? I dont know enough about him as a golfer to make that judgement, all I know is that he wont make friends the way he is going. As for the club ho/pro statement - go back under your rock! :-) :surprize:

Tourstage X-Wedge w/PICS
are you saying the new Mizunos are better than these?

Tour Pics
Trying to spice up the forum a bit - first pic is Sergio with R7 Spoilt Brat - Spencer Levin losing (could it happen to a nicer kid?!) Whats this?! R7 missing the fairway :surprize: And just another note - Els switched putters again. So now he has gone from pure retail Newport2 to 303GSS Tour Newport and now to a Red X2 I think.
