2015 Japan Golf Fair Thread! What do you want this year?
604_skyline replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
As always, any boutique or one off wedge's or wedge company's as well the same for the putter's; boutique or one off putter company's using only the best materials/process to make the heads. -
So, was having a bit of a think....is there honestly just too much damn good golf gear out there from Japan? I mean honestly, there are multiple drivers and iron sets out there, wedges as well. No to mention the shaft market... Sometimes I find it really hard to find out what to zero in on. As soon as I have sometime in mind, something else pops up that is equally as intriguing...

The 681/681T stamps were produced more than people think, and the general Titleist release 681 T were with black paintfill in the T. 2000 or 2500 for the regular 681 and atleast 1500 for the 681 T Titleist Japan back in 1997 did release a set of just T stamp muscle backs with red T, they were also stamped 1/500. I will find some pics, they were also the only sets to come with actual tour velvet full cord grips logo down as per Tiger's actual sets. The other set to have that is worth the $$$ is from 2001, when Tiger switched from Titleist irons to Nike irons; Titleist released I believe 1/49 or 1/50 set of Tigers Titleist irons in a cherry wood box with a plaque listing all his victories using the Titleist blades....

New Quadrafire Express Prototype 2014 ver. 1 "BLACK FIRE"
604_skyline replied to 604_skyline's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Did they mention any specs/characteristics? -
are you able to request a certain weight of shaft? if one were to pick the balanced option, could you tell SD you wanted the shaft an exact weight? for example say 77 grams?
-
So, the line of quadra fire shafts has always been at the top of my list of wanting to try, except I am cluess as to all the variants they offer; anyone care to elaborate on the differences between; Fire Express RB; Fire Express TP-V; Fire Express MAX WBQ; Fire Express; Fire Express LD60; Fire Express Light 45, I assume the LD60 and Light 45 are lighter weight versions, but I would be curious to see those that have hit the RB, TP-V and MAX WBQ their thoughts, as well as the regular Fire Express however they have a new prototype shaft on the way, the black fire;

would love to get your impressions on this head, it is the only driver out there currently that piques my interest...
-
sadly no, not yet, but I think they will be available in september, fairly limited, only several hundred pieces in each loft; an exact number I do not know. heavier head than the standard 306V; i think lie a little more upright, face angle slightly more open than standard
