  1. well i just selected my shaft of choice (distance) and i cant wait to get it. im glad there is a "comfort" in case i chose incorrectly. however, i have faith in the survey that my shaft will be fitted most appropriately.
  2. gotcha. yeah in Tx you need very little bounce. it sounds like you already bought the 60.5 and gaming it. any chance you can buy a different wedge with lower bounce? starting at 12 degree is just too much and youd prob need to take off 20g of weight to achieve 6 degree. that would really mess with the overall weighting of your club. i woudl go with what chiro suggested or something similar
  3. so i just bent my 56.5 down to 55. the tataki is very easily bent and youll have no issues there. the problem you might run into is the amount of headweight you will lose. when you increase the loft by bending you will increase the angle between the sole line and ground line. this isn't a bad thing but it depends on your angle of attack and overall playing conditions. if you aren't a steep swinger you will def need to grind your sole as you previously mentioned. if i am right, and other can chime if, when you decide to go to 62 degrees you will increase the bounce of your club. this could swing it to 14 degrees. to then get the bounce down to 6 i think you may be taking off too much headweight and then may not be able achieve the proper swingweight that you might need. this is a tough project since 6 degrees of bounce is VERY small and that wedge will really dig in and might be unplayable in soft conditions. let me know more about your thoughts.
  4. id be shocked if these arent sold within 5 minutes.
  5. i have a couple of Machine putters, a damascus and a stainless steel. i really love them both. the feel is great and i dont think there is an issue with the multiple component aspect. the ball rolls off the face extremely well and i dont get any sense of interrupted feel throughout the stroke. when i was looking at damascus i had originally contacted Byron but he was unwilling to to work on damascus. I therefore switched to Dave at Machine and he was great. i really enjoyed working with the actual owner of the company as we discussed everything from weighting, to hosel choice and loft. i was considering the bobby jones putters from machine as they gave me a special offer since i was an existing customer. however, Seven Dreamers comes first.
  6. I'll reserve my comments until I see address pics of the af tours. I know the 302s were wildly popular but I hated the width of the sole on those. I wonder how's the, 303s will compare
  7. good looking stuff Akpur. we got 30"+ here in metrowest boston
  8. i have the stock shaft in Stiff if youre interested.
  9. So wait, now im confused. is the AF Tour CB replacing the 302 or AF Tour Original? My reading comprehension implies that the Tour CB replaces the AF 302? or am i wrong on this? or perhaps, the AF Tour Original will be no longer and a the AF Tour CB will replace the AF Tour and AF 302?
  10. i love how they have no replacement for the AF Tours. IMO its one of the best overall blades... ever.
  11. pm sent. no idea how this fell through the cracks.
  12. i have the messenger 1st 4 Star (Xstif i think) FW shaft in my Egg HD. At first i installed this at D3, +1" over standard length. i played this for about a summer as is and overall it was a high launching 3w. however, i rarely could hit lower trajectory shots and the club became essentially useless in the wind. I play alot in Hawaii so hitting moon balls into trade winds generally doesnt yield good results. Chris suggested that i tip the shaft and i did so about 1". now i am much happier with this shaft. in terms of load, prior to tipping the shaft was certainly a little too weak thus i feel the load occurred too early in the downswing thus causing off line shots at times. now, load is still early but very comfortable and much easier to time. overall this is an easy shaft for me to load but i have a pretty aggressive transition from backswing to downswing.

One of the best driver heads around. If i weren't saving for a seven dreamers I'd take it. Glws
  14. ya i saw that. unfortunately you cant sell brand new shafts on their FS forums. the mods will take it down
  15. KBS tour stiffs did NOT work for me. they created way too much spin and thus short, ballooning iron shots. the SPB stiffs are great shafts and cut the spin down more so than the KBS tours. however, i am now gaming the Modus 120 X and these really fit my game nicely. I think if i were to play SPB again i would tip them a tad to play in between S and X.

wow great timing. I literally just emailed Chris about seven dreamers. Was on the fence but will definitely get this. ill also be putting a distance shaft in a T388 so well see how that shakes out. great post and thanks for the review! how long did the entire process take to order, wait, receive the shaft?
  19. Chris, interesting. so i have the Trpx Messenger FW in X Flex (4 stars) tipped .75". i think this is a solid profile but would be interested in the FW80 Crazy. the reason for the wanting to try the crazy would be to have the ability to create better wind penetrating draws which I think the FW80 would really help with. I have no idea what my SS is but my transition on my downswing is pretty aggressive and my takeaway is slow and smooth.
  20. Chris, great thread. So I tipped my messenger xxxx 3 wood shaft and it has made a world of difference in my egg HD. I'm glad I played this shaft longer than standard because I tipped it about. 75 inches. I have it at d3 but I wonder how the crazy FW80 would do in this head. Do you know if crazy has any available and if so which would fit me? I do feel at times the messenger can be light but it hasn't hurt my game at all
  21. very interesting....Chris, what would stack up against the TPV Quadra Fire SX? the muso xdb did not work for me at all so i need something in my second T388.
