  1. super low prices for brand new! i dont need a 3rd T388 though
  2. Chris, this weekend my buddy came into town and we hit the course together with the goal of testing out my 7D. As previously mentioned in another thread I have gained a little bit of distance, around 7 yards for a total carry of about 260. So during our round I let him play my T388 with 7D on every driver hole. Just a little background on him, he swings about 115mph and has an overall aggressive transition. He is a solid golfer and plays maybe once a month (2 young kids). Over the course of the day and multiple driver swings he absolutely loved the shaft. what he loved about it was it went dead straight and incredibly long. the most eggregious of shots that he made was on a 560 dog leg left par 5 that was a tad downwind. to the bed it is about 300 yards and his drive ended up deep in the woods well past the 300 yard elbow. It was an absolutely insane shot and the rest of our group could not beleive it. There were also a couple other holes that resulted in amazing drives. with a 10 mph headwind he hit it 290 into the wind all carry on a slightly uphill par 4. So in general yes these shafts are meant for the owner but I guess they can work for other people? I find this interesting because my swing versus his swing is completely different.
  3. are you located in the USA? i have a T388 in perfect condition if you want that headcover
  4. wow these irons actually appeal to me. the only issue i have is how thick the sole is. i never got along with the af302s because the sole was just too thick. these appear to be smaller but i cant really tell. the top down view is also appealing. looks like relatively minimal offset

unfortunately i find it an absolutely uncomfortable carry bag. if you were to carry it for 18 holes you would not only be dreadfully tired, but the most likely get strap burn. its great for walking to the driving range etc but i do not recommend it for walking 18 holes.
  6. agreed and as Chris said it depends on what you want. However, to know what you want is to know your game where you can have give and takes. for me, i will take 7 yards longer on every drive if that means marginally missing 2 fairways. I rarely hook or slice the ball and in general, I find the fairway quite often. so as long as you know your game and where you have some wiggle room, i think this process works quite well. agreed, this coupled with face control has just really impressed me. the best part is at impact when i have just made contact with the ball and i swing through. the feeling is powerful like i am completely loading and unloading my swing. I haven't smiled much only because i am pretty even keel on the course. however, in my mind I would say "damn that just feels and looks right".
  7. After 2 full rounds of golf and over 100+ driving range balls, here is my analysis of the 7D Distance shaft. First, a little about my game/swing. I am 5'5" 145lbs 34 years old. I am very flexible and have a very quick transition from the top of my backswing and down through the ball. I guess in general my swing thoughts are to throw the club at the target. I have a pretty high ball flight and my miss is a push/fade. This occurs when I get lazy and don't make a full turn or I get stuck on the downswing. I have had instruction most of my life so my swing is in general a cookie cutter swing and I played competitively in college.I can get up to 110mph clubhead speed but I do not like to operate that high. I am typically in the 106mph range with about a 250 yard carry with a T.388 9.5* and SX Quadra Fire Express TPV. The T.388 with Quadra Fire is a great combo. It has a pretty active shaft and I could feel the shaft load during the downswing. This resulted in medium trajectory drives with pretty tight dispersion. I am very accurate with this shaft and am very happy with its distance. Luckily I had a spare T.388 9.5 so the 7D went directly into that club. Once I shafted up the club I went to my course later in the week and prepared myself to be wowed. All I can say is that I was not wowed upon the first swing. The shaft felt good but I couldn't see a noticeable difference between the Quadra. I hit maybe 5 - 6 more drives with similar thoughts. I took the club directly to the course and was ready to try it in action. The first hole is a pretty easy dog leg right par 4 with about 200 carry to the fairway. This hole typically plays into the wind, which it was that day, and is about 400 yards. I got up to the tee box, did my thing, and just let the club rip. I absolutely smashed the ball into a 15mph wind that gave me an approach of about 135. I will take 265 into the wind all day long! I played the driver maybe 8 times that day with overall ok results. I had my B swing that day so I definitely was no clicking on all cylinders. Fast forward one more around and 100 range balls later and this shaft just flat out performs. Things started off slow but the experience got much better. What I find interesting about the shaft is that the trajectory is actually medium to high for me but the carry is just insane. The ball has some serious hang time and it appears to just keep going. The trajectory is a little higher than the Quadra but hang time and continuous ball flight make me want to keep hitting the driver. Now onto feel. The feel of this shaft is totally different. I now have it figured out and wow the shaft loads at the correct time during my downswing and it almost feels effortless. Don't get me wrong, the Quadra is really good. But after trying the 7D it doesn't even compare. This shaft essentially feels like it reacts to my swing and I now do not need time my swing in order to get a high smash factor. I really can feel the location of the face with this shaft and this is something I have never been able to feel in the past. I feel like I know exactly where the club face is during my entire backswing and downswing. I cannot highlight this part enough. I know exactly where the clubface is during my swing!!! Dispersion in general is surprisingly pretty good with this distance shaft. I expected the ball to be all over the place but I found myself in more fairways than rough. Versus the Quadra, I do think the Quadra is a better fairway finder but I can't argue with the distance. Lastly, distance. Distance is without a doubt, longer. How much? 7-10 yards easy compared to the Quadra. I haven't hit any mammoth drives lately but on the 9th hole this past weekend I had an approach shot on a par 4 of about 75 yards where I typically have an approach of 100. I had never been in this territory before so having a half sandwedge into a green versus half gap wedge felt very different. So in general and after 36 holes and 100+ range balls just with the driver, I am sold. However, I do not think that this type of shaft is for everyone and I say that because I think it suits a player who knows exactly what their game is. Meaning that person knows his weaknesses in the driver game and knows how to be honest with his distance, clubhead speed and transition. I wish I could have gone to Japan to have a full fitting but this was all I could muster up and I am not disappointed at all. I would not hesitate to try another 7D if not for their service. 7D overlooked some things and I still don't even have the hard case, cloth and instruction booklet. Time will tell if I get these any time soon. However, the shaft certainly performs.
  8. Any time. Let us know what shaft you went with!
  9. The t388 9.5 is an amazing head. If you are a good ball striker then you will love it. I have two and have no plans for switch anytime soon. Welcome to the boards and great first post.

Supo - my previous 3 wood was Egg HD w Messenger 1st FW X. this shaft really wasnt the ideal fit for me as i hit some long but very high balls. the XV has a much lower launch, similiar distance and a more tight dispersion. I am sure the Fw80 7.4 has alot to do with the new trajectory. I did notice that the XV has a duller sound and feel at impact versus other 3woods so that is taking some time to get used to. spent saturday and sunday with the 7D. hit about 100 balls total plus 1 round of golf. i want to wait one more week to post results as i like to typically have a couple rounds under my belt with a new club. Plus, i had my B- swing on Saturday so hopefully i have a better swing this weekend. But as of now, i dont forsee anything replacing the 7D at the moment.

will get them up! i should have been more specific here. as you can see i have way more clubs that the 14 club maxmium. the thought between the 18 and 19 is that both clubs will NEVER be in the bag at the same time. I play the driving iron on windy days and hybrid on calm days. I gave up trying to hit hybrids into hawaii trade winds so the driving hybrid is a solid solution.

Alright here goes. I am going on the record to say that the gear listed as my opening 2015 bag will actually be the exact same as my closing 2015 bag. Meaning I will not be making any tweaks (I reserve the right to take out that POS hi rev shaft in my sand wedge and replace it) between now and November. Irons are typically at D3 with wedges coming in a little heavier at D4/5 This bag will serve as my gamer bag for tournaments and regular play. I do have another two backup sets but those wont get any playing time this year. Maybe 1 round. My putters are rotated pretty often so they will certainly share the season. 13. nah i built it myself. i love building clubs. when i take this to the range i will compare it to my other T388 w Quadra Fire TP V SX. That will make for a nice comparison.
  14. I wish, im in the US and could not get a flight over there. This shaft was fitted via the questionnaire.
  15. Placed an order for a 7D Distance shaft with Chris and after some serious delays and hiccups the shaft is finally here. the shaft will be paired with an Syard T388 9.5. Swingweight about D3 at 45.5" I wont be able to test it until this weekend but here are some. more pics and reviews to come...club is drying.

I love my PW at 46* as it allows me to hit 50, 54 and 58 for my other wedges. i like having versatility in my wedges esp when it comes to grinds. If i need to drop clubs to hit that 14 mark it will either be my 3 hybrid, 2 driving iron or 3 iron. On windy days i will typically drop the hybrid completely and 3 iron.
  17. Dude we need more pics and updates! I believe mine is shipping this week
  18. I'm liking om2 the best. Well see what the other models look like soon.
  19. I got my 18* today and it looks great. Drying now but the address looks confidence boosting
  20. I can't wait to get mine. I went with the 18* and its my first jump into driving irons
  21. I just placed an order for the driving iron. It'll be my first and I can't wait

  23. I am a total tech/gearhead without a doubt. It isn’t just the clubs for me, but the entire hobby of being a club builder. I have loft and lie machines, benches, sanders, extractors, extra shafts, grips, you name it. I truly love building a club from the ground up by doing the research on components, weighing everything, measuring everything and eventually putting it all together. Then, what I love even more is testing if that club performs the way I want to it to perform. That having been said, I probably spend more time practicing than I do playing and building combined! Often, I find myself not wanting to play but wanting to practice a certain shot on the range. I absolutely love to practice different shots on the range and can do it for multiple hours a day. I think the reason for this is that I learned at a young age how to practice correctly versus just smacking balls. My coaches would always tell me that practice never makes perfect, but permanent. Therefore, you must practice correctly to see any benefit on course. So while on the range, and I won’t bore you all with the details but each shot I make is deliberate, spaced out and there is a point to the shot. I never rush through a bucket and I bet I take between 20-30 seconds per ball hit. I can easily make 60 balls last almost two hours. Also, I am huge on muscle memory for the good shots and more specifically the bad. For example, when I make a bad shot, the next shot I take I purposely try to do the complete opposite. So if I mistakenly push the ball to the right, my next shot will be a hard pull or draw to the left. In general I never want my body to remember what it feels like to make a shot that I did not intend hit. Lastly, my practice also stems from my workout regime. About 6 years ago I started to really focus on strength with flexibility. Bikram Yoga a few times a month plus high intensity interval training 2 times a week, has really added visible benefits to my game. So I guess in general, as much of an equipment guy that I am, I know equipment can only take me so far which is why I spend the majority of my time away from the equipment side of the game.
  24. Chris, i think youll actually be ok on BABA on a 6-12mos time horizon and ive actually started to add to my position as of yesterday. i got pretty lucky and sold 60% at 119 and then sold calls at 90. but at the 75-80 lvls its a good entry/re-entry point. i dont expect 120 again but 100 pretty comfortably.
