The shaft looks great. I'm sure all the components will work really well together. You'll have confidence at address just because the driver looks amazing. I always find that works for me anyway. Where did you get the ferrules from?
-
I will definitely try a driver around 44" - 44 1/2". Don't know about going any shorter. Length off the tee isn't a problem.......control is though! Over the next few months I'll get some more cash together and see what you guys are selling :) How much for your Yonex. Lol

That looks fantastic. If only I had the cash. Did you find that you were less acurate with this compared to your Yamaha Tour? GLWS. Ian.

I'll never say never, but at the moment I think I agree with you Nifty. My next driver will be less than 460.......maybe a Yonex 380/420 or something of similar size.

Quadra 4AX SOF 100i stiff flex graphite iron shaft review
Ian-500 replied to Ian-500's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I'm definitely a fan. When I eventually get a driver I'd like to try out a fex. What's the ball flight like for your swing? -
I recently bought a set of Yamaha Inpres X V forged tour model 2011 irons, and these came shafted with Quadra graphite shafts. Here is my review of the shafts: From the outset they look great. I like the way the colour changes from red at the butt in to black half way along the shaft. You can also see the carbon/graphite weave at this point. I don't think that they feel heavier or lighter than previous shafts I've played (TT Black Gold, DG S200, graphite Wilson Fatshafts), but a friend of mine said that they were definitely heavier than his Callaway Big Bertha irons with Callaway steel shafts, and those irons are like shovels! I was worried that these shafts would be too soft and flexible, but after gaming them for 3 rounds I actually think they feel stiffer than the Black Golds I've used. As described in the Pro Shop, they are very very stable and very accurate. This could be because they've been spine aligned or purely down to how good the shaft is. I think the usual soft feel from the Endo forged heads are enhanced even more with these Quadras, for example; on Monday I played 18 holes. On the 16th hole, par 5, I had 192yds to the front of the green after a great tee shot. I put a 5 iron shot over a bunker to the centre of the green. No more than 10yds of roll. Looking back now I actually think I didn't feel the club head hit the ball, so pure was the shot and so shock absorbing are the shafts. I've noticed 2 things that I need to get used to. 1) I now hit the ball higher. The 5 iron shot described above was high, but PW's 9's 8's seem to hang in the air forever. 2) a consequence of the high ball flight is longer carry. I'm now hitting my PW 140yds, 7i is about 160yds - 165yds. A bit of info about myself, I'm 6ft tall and weigh 12st 8lb. I play off 16hcp, but this is because I don't play enough. I'm a fit 39 year old guy with no ailments/injuries. So there you go, the shafts look great, feel great and play great. Hope this helps anyone's decision to buy or not to buy. I would certainly recommend them to anyone. Thanks for looking, Ian.

Just arrived in San Francisco, and couple of changes in the bag.

Those copper heads look stunning. Good choice PauSS. More pics needed :) -
I agree with supo67. I game the 2011 tours with Quadra graphite shafts. Absolutely fantastic. Lovely soft feel, better than my old Snake Eyes. I need more time to get used to the extra distance I'm hitting, but that's probably down to the shafts. The heads are small but I have no idea if they're forgiving or not as I hit out of the groves 90% of the time. If I hit it thin or fat then no big club head would help. I love the way they look at address.

Will accept a trade for a JDM driver. Any takers before it goes to Ebay and GolfWRX?

I love the iron head covers. I've looked at the price of these and it states one price. Is that for 1 cover or 10?

Loving the Yamaha driver
-
DaleUK and swisstrader - I know what you mean. I will get another driver eventually.......... Spoon - what went wrong with the Zero and Crazy? I think my Cobra plays at 43". By the way, delete the driver from your signature ;) shacco - the Yamahas are fantastic. I played today and shot 34 points off 16. I haven't been this close to my handicap for ages, so I'll put it down to either a shorter back swing because of the small head and/or concentrating more. bogeydog - I have a golf weekend away coming up on 13th/14th May, so I'll report back with a review after that. Thanks for all the comments guys. Keep 'em coming. I have more pics if you want them.

I don't know about you guys but i change my driver very often, so I've put a stop to that and I'm not carrying one for a little while. It probably won't last very long though as I love nothing more than smashing the ball miles down the fairway. Absolutely love it. Anyway, here's my driverless bag for 2012. It's taken me a while to put it together. I had to save hard but I got there in the end. Let me know what you think.

Fantastic bag Dale. You'll certainly get recognised on the course.......where's Dale?...oh there he is, on the 5th tee. Lol. Keep the pics coming.

Hi everyone. This is my 1st sale on the Tourspec BST. I thought I'd post here before Ebay UK or GolfWRX - Moderators please let me know if I've done anything wrong. Right then, for sale I have a set of Nippon NS Pro Modus 3 Tour 120's in X flex. Below is the extract from Ebay UK where I originally bought them from; NIPPON NS PRO MODUS 3 SHAFTS 4-PW THESE WERE TAKEN OUT OF A SET OF TOUR ISSSUE CLEVELAND IRONS ASSEMBLED ON THE EUROPEAN TOUR VAN A YEAR AGO THE LONGEST SHAFT MEASURES 37.1'' OR 94.1CM THEY PLAYED TO CLEVELANDS STANDARD LENGTH THEY ARE THE TOUR120 X FLEX SHAFTS As the pictures show, they are in great condition. No dents/dings/marks on the shafts. Some of the decals have come away from the shaft, but as highlighted in the pictures it's nothing major at all, so there's no defects that would effect their performance......just your swing! All tip sections in good condition. They are tapered tips .355. No grips. I was going to install these in to my old Snake Eyes 675b/c combo but I was offered some Yamaha Tours with Quadra shafts, so these Nippons are now surplus to requirements. Put your favourite grips on, spine align, install in to your favourite iron heads and away you go. Watch your handicap fall* I'm asking £130 GBP which at the time of typing is about $210 USD + postage costs worldwide. I haven't posted overseas before so a little help may be needed with shipping companies. Thanks for looking, Ian. *Not guaranteed

Hi. I have a pulled set of 4 - PW in the Tour 120 x flex if you're interested. I'm going to put them on sale on the forum tonight. Thanks, Ian.

+1 on the WinWin Style bag. I have the 2011 version of the Yamahas in the picture, so I've now got a great idea of what my irons would look like in that fantastic bag. Gonna have to save my pennies :) Are all the bags yours? And do you play a different bag every week or stick with 1 bag for a long time?
-
Spoon - I'm the opposite, I have the irons but not the woods! Would love to get a yammy driver in my bag.

Wish I hadn't highlighted the Yamaha. Damn it!!!
