  1. hmmmm.....what to do. What if I'm a "seriously athletic golf player", which one do I choose?
  2. LOVE my George Spirits putter...probably because I'm an "athlete golfer" lol
  3. Too bad...that 709 line-up of irons was one of the best from blade to CB that anyone's put out ever.
  4. If it's like all the other Egg's, it's sure to have a high-repulsion factor. ;)
  5. Fine grit sandpaper will take the shine off without changing the appearance too much.
  6. Did you tip it and make it 45.75", or did you add the length back in the butt? (THAT didn't sound right!) You weren't hooking it because it was too soft (unless your name is Gary Woodland), maybe because it was too long. 252CPM's at that length is STOUT. But whatever, glad it's working for ya.
  7. "gutsing" the ball? What does that mean? Never heard of that, an Aussie term?
  8. Those aren't really long, especially for a lighter shaft like that. If you go shorter you will probably have to add some tip weights. Never a good idea IMO. What are the swing weights? If the SW's are comfortable, I'd try to adjust and see if they work for you after several rounds/range sessions. Shortening half an inch would be expensive and a hassle for probably not much if any difference. If you like to tinker, no big deal I guess. As far as the 901's, all these hybrids and driving irons are being made to be a little longer (a half inch at least) than their iron counterparts, which I don't really like. They're supposed to be long iron replacements, but with everybody's obsession with distance, they make them as long as they can get away with because people just want to it these things far. And whichever one they hit the farthest on the simulator, accuracy be damned, that's the on they'll buy. They think they'll be able to figure out how to hit it straighter once it's in their bag. WRONG! But I doubt my internet rant is gonna change anything. lol
  9. I've never owned anything Honma but DAMN their stuff looks good. I could bag that driver and a couple their irons easily.
  10. Yikes! And you called those S-Yard irons ugly? Fugliest irons I've ever seen.

Well then why the hell are you selling them?? lol Anyway, GLWS, they look pretty cool.
  12. Not that bad IMO. A bit much going on and a little shiny, but it actually looks kinda quality to me. Hell, if it wasn't so sunny here all the time, I'd even stick 'em in my bag if you gave them to me. Sometimes it's kinda fun to play with long, high-hitting, easy irons.
  13. Tourstage 709 MC has all the qualities you mention. Be careful though, these might replace your 302's as your first set.
  14. Great bag. And great back-ups to boot. Are you really a 14? Just curious cuz I'm always interested to see what handicap levels like certain stuff.
  15. Tourstage/Bridgestone. Aren't they the same manufacturer? If so, you couldn't beat a total bag of that IMO. Even great gloves and shoes!

    Misleading title. Sooooo disappointed.
  17. I'm pretty sure that making irons stronger lofted actually INcreases the offset and I know that it DEceases the bounce about 1* for every 1* loft change. Maybe you just mis-typed?
  18. IDK what the specific bounce numbers are, but I do know that, like the '12's, they have a pretty wide, very cambered sole for an iron in that category (blade/low HC). Which IMO works great for all types of swings AND all kinds of turf.
  19. Guys, the head weights are the same as all the Miura irons. Maybe it got lost in the translation or something, but what they did was take 15 grams away from the middle and move it around to the perimeter. Per miuragiken.com, all the irons have the same head weights +/- a gram.
  20. Damn you guys!! This was gonna be the year where I just make do with what I've got, especially with two new little ones around and less focus on leisure. This may have to change that. I can't see how anyone that likes traditional irons with a hint of tech wouldn't like these. That PW just has "gimme" written all over it.
  21. Anybody thinking about getting these should realize that they're double nickel, which looks nothing like satinized chrome. Like OP says, they have a bronzish, goldish color instead of silver that's on chrome and brushed chrome. Makes a bigger difference in person than in most photos. If I were looking at these (I was, actually), I'd be much more concerned about that finish than the top line.
  22. And it will never really handle worth a s**t, no matter what you do to it (save for lopping 3,000 pounds off of it), so might as well cruise around in full luxe mode. I agree. Had a CL600, it was way better than my buddy's CL63. A little front heavy, but it was so damn heavy anyway it didn't matter. Drove/rode like a dream with much better finish out than the 63.
  23. Is there no S600 anymore? I preferred those in the S class over the AMG. The performance increase to me wasn't enough to make up for the loss of the quiet, smooth comfort of the 600. Loved the AMG conversion in the smaller, lighter cars that could really benefit from the suspension and power improvements. But I do really like the new S-Class body, not nearly so slab-sided as the previous one.
  24. If I were you I would just try them in the lofts they come with first. A 6* gap between clubs from 2 different types of sets might not be a "real" 6*. Meaning the 54's are meant to hit the ball higher with more weight lower than the 4. Then adjust lofts according to distance gaps. This obsession with loft number gaps is understandable, but not practical. Start with how far you want your longest and shortest irons to go and adjust lofts to get nice, even gaps between them. And adjusting the loft 1* on an iron will make no noticeable difference in the bounce. Not til you get to at least 2 or 3 degrees will it make a difference.
  25. Yeah, bounce is your friend. Hard to get too much, that should be ok.
