Part of it is 302's don't have jacked lofts, 46* PW which is one weak from their newer sets and nowhere close to what many Oems in the US are doing. That would make the P2 1 weak from the 302 rather than 2+ from some other sets. I only got them out a small amount before winter hit and it's just now getting warm enough to break them out again. I'd say feel wise they feel good, not as soft as the 302 because of the change in mass/thickness of blade but the 302 is also the softest iron I've ever hit. P2 is a little clickier as expected on my toe miss, epon soft but not quite 302 on center strikes. I also think the 302 is the best iron ever made, crazy good feel coupled with good looks, forgiveness, and the highest consistent ball speeds. People talk about ball speed a lot with drivers but it was shocking how well these performed repeatedly on trackman for me. I really only bought the P2's because they are so good looking and will play them during non competitive rounds, the PW might get a shot at the tournament bag.

120x, play super peening oranges in the 302's but plan on switching those to 120 as well if I like them as much as the few times I've tried them. Using both sets to experiment with shafts but want them to have the same eventually so I can combo. Regarding distance I was surprised with how far they went, basically the same as my 302s which don't have super jacked lofts.

Want to trade for a heavier/stiffer set of Protos by chance?

I'll get some pics up when I can, P2's are being re-shafted.
  5. What does 58 use is growing vs 60 even mean? It could be one more player using a 58 and one less using a 60 with a breakdown of 5 playing 58 and 95 playing 60. That statement alone doesn't mean a 58 is more versatile and useful than a 60. Like I mentioned earlier there are other sites with very detailed witb for the tour pros and I don't see many carrying a 58 as their highest lofted wedge.

    Nice! 302/P2/210's here myself
  7. Many PW have gotten even stronger so makes sense pros would drop it in favor of a 46* vokey. I'm not sure I agree with the 58 vs 60 assessment and I also see a ton of >60* in four bags.
  8. Agreed, has to be the combo of graphite shaft and crazy epon ball speed. Loft to loft my 302's are still longer than any other similarly sized set I've hit. Ballspeed in the 144 range when I only get ~156 with driver! It's clunky looking and the sole is huge, I'd go 903 if it was getting double duty, links course tee club only though so it's a keeper for me.
  9. Are you the same magpies as the other forum, the one that asked me 3 times for feedback!?! Just tryin to help out
  10. Got it, I didn't mean new as in they weren't used before, more that the amount I see in PGA witb is 10x what I was 6 months ago before Speith. My B!
  11. Anyone else trying the new trend? Just got back my 20* 901 from install of a DI 95 S hybrid shaft. Phenomenal clubhead speed, ball speed, and feel. On Flightscope I was within 10 mph ball speed of my driver, 220 carry, roll out to 240+. I carry driver 255 and play a DI 6S in that FYI.
  12. Did I read correctly you've played once in a year? Personally I'd steer clear of such an expensive driver shaft if you don't use your golf clubs!
  13. Don't have enough rounds in yet to say for sure but I think they will be my nice weather no $ clubs, 302's for $ games and tourneys. I'm surprised so many comments on how forgiving they are, I agree to some extent but the 302s are more so. Maybe some people are in the bad swings = bad shots camp, I'm hoping my bad swings still end up ok. I consider myself to be a good ballstriker with irons for my skill level, +1 cap.
  14. Since these are "very far out", can anyone recommend some covers to me? Magnetic or snap, no Velcro
  15. Swizbeatz replied to Cosmo's post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Might be blasphemy to send you to another site but search for "markheardjr", he's got a 2 page thread going on this shaft on the big site.
  16. How we looking with these? Need a set of "TSG" version if your going to make those, lost a few of the crappy velcro epon covers over the course of the year.
  17. those would look really good in my bag
  18. Swizbeatz replied to supo's post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I don't swing them very well either. Tech is getting better so people are able to go lighter to pick up speed without sacrificing dispersion.
  19. Per the Nippon guru on the other site the 105 does not play soft to flex. I play 120x and swung a 105x yesterday and it felt very stiff.
  20. Swizbeatz replied to supo's post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
130 are definitely stiff. I've played 120x and 130s and the 130s played stiffer.
  21. I have a couple 901 DI but they are either unshafted or wrong shaft so yea, the long iron part is missing. When I made the original post I was staring at P2 heads only but now I've get them shafted up. I'll swap in more or less P2's depending on weather and what I'm playing for, not carrying many of them now with highs of 42* mid round. Mid summer messing around I'll go 5-p blades. Shooting those scores around my home track which isn't very long, I have issues in tournament golf when the courses get stretched out. I'd like to hit it higher in the long irons for sure, I play a low draw. I kept strokes gained stats this year and from 175-225 I'm brutal, ideally I want to compete in bigger am events. That would be why I'm experimenting in the top end of the bag.
  22. The idea was I like the distance control with blades but need help hitting it higher the longer the club. Take out the 901 because it's really a tee club anyways. I hit my current 302 4 iron a little lower than I'd like hence the idea of a bigger cavity back. Regardless of how it fits in looks wise, if it performs from 210 I can get over changing looks a little and there are similarities being from the company. I'd also dial in carry yardages on Trackman by tweaking loft so that wouldn't be an issue. Agree with the above about the full set thing, I've got a lot of extra irons sitting around haha. I've been playing a srixon DI 4 iron, 302 5-7, and P2 8-p for about 2 weeks and 8-10 rounds now. Unfortunately I think my lack of height with the irons will need to be addressed with swing changes. 72/72/67 last three rounds with the combo setup.
  23. Same here
  24. Which of the copper finishes would hold up best after 100+ rounds? Smoked copper?
  25. I need it most off the deck, I'm not long enough to be going for many par 5s in tournament golf with something less than 3 wood. I will most likely have no hybrids and instead a 2 driving iron (901) setup between 3 wood and irons. My home CC has 2 courses, there are no tee shots that require a 3 wood but from the up tees I might hit it 2-3 times for better accuracy. Most tournaments I'm hitting driver all day because of a "measly" ~255 carry. I play a 16.5 915F so not a designated tee club, it's good but I'm a low ball hitter and was thinking of looking for a higher launching fairway.
