  1. I've used heavy putter shafts in the past, always kept the head weight somewhere in the realm of normal for me, maybe a bit heavier, 365-370 grams where I normally prefer 360 grams.
  2. Got a PM yesterday with interest in buying the 60 Stiff, if Stew doesn't want a 60 Stiff to trade for the 80 and I don't get a response from the other interested member, it's all yours mate.
  3. Agreed, 30 years is a very long time(longer than I've been around), especially the past 3 decades as alot of golf gear has totally transformed from what was played that long ago.....
  4. Wowsah, your selling off a bunch of great drivers, you must really be enjoying the TRPX mate.
  5. Lately it's been Sticky 2.3 for me, the X-grip and X evolution are close seconds, but the Sticky just seems to let me take the most comfortable hold, as much as I used to enjoy the Nowon 50, they just seem to twist at the most inopportune times..... I have the Golf Pride Niion on a few wedges and it's definitely not bad at all, just wish it had a bit more tackiness, also tried the Lamkin I-line and I can't say it was a bad grip, it just feels too thin and small for me. I worked out a deal with my builder to order me boxes of Iomics at a really great price so I always have enough of them when I shuffle things around.
  6. I would be supremely happy if you could pass along our desire for minimal stamping and ANYTHING besides a chrome finish....l
  7. Similar, I would say something along the personals or the TS 901 looks wise, the very slightest bit larger than the Miuraism SB01's, feel wise something in-between Epon and Miura, very dense heads with a real powerful thump at impact, as Stew says, frozen marshmallows, offset from the TR500 would be perfect.... And please, a 48* or at least 47* PW. I wouldn't mind a full 2-PW setup, but with a separate forged driving iron designed and offered in 17.5*, 21*, and 24*.
  8. Could have sworn he had a combo set of 725/925 irons, think I've seen pictures of him with the 725 in his hands.
  9. I believe it had to do with a non competition agreement. It definitely can be plausible, I'm pretty certain Crazy released the 435 first designed by J Beam and made sure if J Beam was going to release the head under there own label then it couldn't perform quite as well as the Crazy, if Jbeam originally released there own head and then Crazy decided to re brand it then I couldn't see it happening, but if J Beam designed it for Crazy then decided to release it once they saw how popular it was then I could definitely see Crazy being able to set some terms.
  10. Jbeam makes fantastic heads, really doesn't matter to me what branding they have, weather they say Jbeam, Crazy, or TRPX, doesnt make much difference to me, everything I've hit from them has been wonderful, the only head it ever actually mattered performance wise was the 435 where the J Beam head was I believe tuned down slightly vs. The Crazy.
  11. +1 on the Srixon, its the best stock driving iron by far, the current model looks a bit large though, the previous model is much sexier. The older Fourteen Tour driving irons were excellent, the Srixon gives an easier launch though while the Fourteen is a bit easier to move around.
  12. I highly doubt anyone on this site doesn't do exactly that with every set of clubs they play mate, its silly not to have clubs built to your specs, you leave way too much to chance..... I have 43 iron sets sitting around, each and every one is built to the same specs loft, lie, and length wise, and all the shafts were either installed aftermarket in Japan when I purchased them or re built with my builder here in the states, even if a set comes stock EXACTLY as I want them, I still need to have the specs checked with my builder considering large manufacturers aren't always spot on with there builds, JDM companies are FAR superior than what I've seen from the US in that regard, but weird things do happen. Every pro isn't just playing a perfectly constructed set, in many cases theyre playing clubs far different than anything you can get your hands on from the brands they are playing, every single brand that has players on tour will offer even more radical tweaks than the custom Yoro Craft Mizuno's or Buchi gear you can order through TSG which offer a huge array of custom options that most companies wouldn't even think of offering the public.
  13. Most of the gear they release in the states are older Giken heads, they just tweak them a bit... The CB501 are the older 1003 heads, the 202 are the 1005 heads, they can say whatever they wish at Miura US, but its just re stamping with some tweaks to the shape and grind. Nothing wrong with that though as most are excellent heads that go very well and feel wonderful.
  14. Gold's mate, trust me on this one, I don't think you would be disappointed with the work they do at Cameron, but it wont be anything special, it also will be a random craftsman doing the refurb, Cameron himself rarely touches anything that isn't heading to tour, Sasaya-san is doing the actual work on your putter when you send it in to GF.
  15. Looks like a Private Stock 02 to me, cant be sure though. GF has always been able to finish any putter they make however the customer wants it.
  16. If anyone is considering these.... Take them as is, just had a similar set of blades out with the same shaft setup today and its pure magic, low head, high, strong and stable shaft, just bliss. Guy who builds Stew's gear is fantastic, top, of the top of the line, cant possibly say enough about the quality of the builds after the absolute miracle he just worked on a first generation EGG Spoon for me. You're getting rid of theses, the TS's, a set of Pro 100's, AND set of personal's, cant wait to see the new Ism set.
  17. I cant wait to hear your thoughts on this one, glad its not too much like the 425 & 435. Tried emailing you earlier mate, didn't go through for some reason, ring me if your still around over there.
  18. Its not impossible to get Bridgestone gear here in the US, but its much more difficult than other large brands, a lot of the big box stores don't carry them and most places that do have to order them.... Its surprising considering how fantastic the gear is and how large the corporation behind them.
  19. Haven't ever seen anyplace in the US I can demo JDM gear which is really what I was referring to, my mistake, never been to Thailand. The Bridgestone J40's are the previous TS 705 Type M, theyre great clubs, I have them...
  20. As in the blanks? or the actual putter?
  21. No problem mate, welcome to the forums.
  22. You can only order his stuff through Scratch now, but he is an excellent craftsman, I believe Carlo(Spoon) knows him quite well and has some experience with his putters.
  23. Golf is a game of personal preference and opinion... All the data in the WORLD doesn't mean a bleeding thing once you get clubs out on the course, if someone told you that the horizontal face milling was proven not to get the ball rolling any faster, it would still get the ball rolling faster for you(and me, I prefer that pattern as well), nothing wrong with educating yourself, but don't drown yourself in so much information that it impairs your ability to make choices, especially considering that golf is, for a good percentage of players, a game of feel... If the information is ABSOLUTELY required, then I believe that I read something a while back on Scotty Cameron doing testing on how different milling effects roll.
  24. Bridgestone usually offers the previous year's TS players cavity back with different stamping and possibly a slightly different grind(not sure about that), you wont find any Bridgestone MB's because the Tourstage MB's are limited and sell out.... You probably wont be able to find any TS clubs outside of Japan that you can demo, its rare to find any JDM club outside of Japan to demo, that's just kinda the way it goes mate, you sacrifice the ability to try the clubs out before hand to play absolutely top quality gear. A Yoro set of Mizunos will only feel different if you tweak the clubs, finish will have some effect on feel, and if you have them grind the clubs differently they will feel different, but if you order a Yoro set with a stock finish, grind and specs and just add your initials, then I would imagine they would feel basically the same....
