  1. If you play one set of blades, not being a blade player, these are a fairly easy set to hit as far as blades go.
  2. Ahh, just looked in the proshop and saw the 77 model, think I'll grab that first.
  3. Wonder how it would go in a FW. I'll probably give one of these a go, I normally don't go above a 75 gram class in drivers, but with the stellar review I'll give it a shot, and if I don't love it in the driver, I'll try it in a FW.
  4. "its quite possibly the best shaft ive played" That's says ALOT.
  5. I would honestly have to defer to someone with a greater knowledge of club fitting than I have, I really can only remark on my personal experiences with any sort of authority. Personally, I prefer a flatter lie for when I'm swinging poorly, as it's always seemed to start the ball out further to the right, not a great distance, but enough to keep a hook in the rough and not the trees, when everything is working as it should though, I don't really notice much difference between varying lie angles in different drivers, FW's and utilities.
  6. For me personally, when I'm not hitting the ball well, a wood with a flatter lie angle starts the ball out tracking a bit to the right and when it turns over it doesn't come back as far left, so a poorly hit ball won't wind up with as large of a hook as it would with a more upright club..... That's me personally though, when I'm hitting the ball well, the lie angle on woods isn't something I'm overly concerned with. I've always assumed that the reasons for needing a change in lie angle and the effect of changing the lie angle would be basically the same in woods as it would be with irons and wedges.
  7. I've never owned one personally, but my father has and I've driven it more than a few times, its still a pretty sweet ride, and the interior doesn't feel dated at all or uncomfortable, again though, I'm not one to absolutely need the latest tech to enjoy a car, just as long as everything works consistently and does what it's supposed to do well. He has it with the 6 speed manual so I can't really comment on how the transmission compares to the newer models offered with the paddle shift, but I believe that the 360 also had the F1 paddle shift as an option, not sure if it's the same transmission as the 599 GTO I have, it might be though, whatever's the case, I prefer the slightly newer PDK from Porsche and the newer dual clutch from Ferrari in the 458 my brother drives, smoother, more refined, the previous generation paddle shift from Ferrari is in no way bad, but the newer model IS an improvement. As a daily driver, I'm not 100% sure, I've never personally driven the 360 daily, but they have held there value really well and you still see them at dealerships used for high stickers.
  8. I've only owned one Lamborghini and it was a Gallardo from 2008 I believe, but I found it to be the biggest chore I've even driven, maybe I just had some bad luck, but everything about that car did not sit well with me, had multiple transmission issues, the ride was SUPER harsh, was probably the only low exotic that I found extremely obnoxious to get in and out of, handled poor driving and road conditions terribly(not good in the wet, every small bump felt like a tire was going to go). That was a few years back now and I can't really rate the entire brand based on my one bad experience, but that was my first real "super car" and the 3rd auto I ever owned, I've stayed away from the brand since then, but I have owned a few Ferrari's and I've enjoyed each one ALOT more then the Lambo, they've all had there little quirks but usually the issues are small and overlooked when compared to how enjoyable the Ferraris are to drive.
  9. Pretty darn close, yeah, out of all of the protos I've tried, these are the most user friendly and the easiest to change the shape of the shot.
  10. What's the difference between this and the standard 458? performance, and price.
  11. I totally agree about taking wedge that is has very consistent spin over one that just zips the ball back as much as possible. I do feel that grooves do make a difference though, not a gargantuan amount, but enough to notice, especially out of the rough, and I really feel that's where they wanted to hamper Tour pro's ability to spin the ball and control the spin of the ball, with guys getting longer and longer off the tee they felt that players needed to be penalized more for missing the fairways and shouldn't be able to gouge the ball out of the rough, how much its affected things, I'm not totally sure. The hyper aggressive non conforming grooves that Gold's Factory can do definitely generates more spin than anything conforming. Really don't know if face milling has any affect at all, I've had milled wedges that don't spin very well, and unmilled wedges that spin like crazy.
  12. Seems like a very logical way of thinking about it, if you look at the laser milling on the BOLDS its so apparent aesthetically because its just deep enough to show the surface of the wedge beneath the finish, so when the dark finish on the face of the wedge wears off, then so does the appearance of the milling.
  13. Gold's custom wedges, Maru's and Bold's have been sharing top slots lately.... The edge has went to the GF wedges the past week though as I've needed the extra spin. Let's see how that set of Fourteen's shakes things up.
  14. best wedges on links courses for me has still been the 2011 Yamaha's.
  15. Bold 50* would be a perfect match for the kamui kp 101's. That'd be one hell of a setup for some links play.
  16. Good short term review on this, very detailed..... The P-tune and Triple X are both at the top of my list also. Think your spot on in the Crazy/Quadra flex comparison mate, the Crazy shafts have always played stiffer to flex than the Quadra's for me.
  17. I honestly can't say how I feel about this, its disappointing, but at the same time, all clubs wear and wear out, with milled faces there's just something else that wears off on the face... I remember the first set of wedges I had with a black, the finish started to wear off the face and the sole as the wedges wore out and I felt like I had gotten totally screwed, that's just how it seems to go though, I know a finish and face milling are two different things, but they both seem to wear as the wedges wear for me. 300 balls though seems like nothing, there are days when I hit 100-150 balls with an individual wedge and I've never seen any get that worn after 300 shots, I haven't started to see too much wear on the Bold's I picked up and when I bought them they had been very slightly used, maybe 250 shots out of each wedge so far(52*, 58*) from me and a bit of wear showing.
  18. How is this here??? What a setup! I know what you've been gaming and I understand the sale, but how in the world has no one bought this?
  19. The Carrera GT. That was the first car I ever test drove..... At Manhattan motorcars in Westhampton beach NY, I stalled about 100 yards out of the dealership and saw my father cringe in the passenger seat, then proceeded to get pulled over after taking an entrance ramp at 85. Didn't wind up buying it, lol. They still sell for big dollars, have never actually seen one on the road though.
  20. How has this FW been treating you? I really like the small head.
  21. I've always been a big fan of Porsche. They just make great cars..... Wish they would release a seriously juiced up Cayman, such an attractive car, so much fun to drive, but with more power that thing would be totally tops.
  22. Totally agree with Duff, Tario is your connection to JDM golf gear mate. Take a look on the blog at Craig's absurdly, magnificent, super, awesome, fantastic trip to Japan(that's what the article should be called anyway) and see exactly whats possible if you wanna hit the absolute top end manufacturers and get things built exactly how you like them....
  23. Simply stunning. Have a Yamada razor in Burning Copper and I think that would look awesome with a finish like that.
