Just want everyone to know it's not the Kamui that we sell in the proshop. These are from a different Kamui, I know it's confusing but there was a split years back. The one you see in the pics has gone the mass production route while the one we sell is hand crafted.

Fourteen Forged TC770 2006 version
TourSpecGolfer replied to panicmotion's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
taper tip and I think they are made by Endo. -
We will be getting a few of the MB's in about a month. yea everything from Akira is cast but a couple things stand out for them. - small quantitities produced at the limits of tolerance - shape and design is pretty close to perfect. As you mention they got the shape's done right. The KS201 sat well it just didn't feel as pure. It was soft for a casting no doubt but something was missing.

yes the TC910's are made by Endo. The 710's are not as far as I know.
-
They are cast, if anyone is interested let me know. they come in black as well.

The fourteen's would be much more forgiving and feel better. Is this it: or is it this one: -
Iron shaft roundup - what's your all-time favorite & why?
TourSpecGolfer replied to Mjr. D's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I wouldn't say the NS950 is lower quality. It's just different and fit's a wider range of player. I get along great with NS950, one of the best feeling and easiest to hit shafts around. lots of people like it less because its a standard shaft offering. I consider it an upgrade to the standard dynamic gold shaft. -
Sasaya did U.S and JPN metal lab testing on GSS vs J.I.S grade SUS303. It's the same. GSS=JSS These ingles putters look really classy. They have that old school london look to them.
-
The cheapest thing you can do is split the neck from the head and use a screw or weld. good feeling vibrations from impact is lost through gaps, holes, and screws.
-
I've seen these over the years. It's a very similar process to how TP mills produced putters. If your a collector it's an interesting purchase. As far as performance go's the sweet spot's are small. I consider these handmade as the CNC is controlled by Hand like Gold's Factory does.

Crazy Royal Decoration and CRZ-460 Review
TourSpecGolfer replied to JMCMB's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
We have the first ever Royal Deco shaft's coming in that custom white soon. -
We have Dr. Darren around here somewhere. He's a nano scientist and has actually worked with golf OEM's. Hopefully he reads this and can chime in. We go to the nano fair every year. It's the same time as the Tokyo Golf Show and even in the same building. Lot's of golf applications. From what I understand is the "good stuff" is too expensive for mainstream golf applications today. If it's considered expensive in Japan it's totally out of reach for the U.S. Expect to see it in golf ball covers first. Let's hope Japan's economy flourishes because when it does every industry see's a boost of new tech.

I suggest comparing Boron Fiber to Carbon Fiber. 80T is just the press weight of the flat carbon prepeg. btw 80 ton isn't the big deal as 1200T can be found at nearly the same price. What's special about the 80T carbon in high end shafts is the Japanese manufactures that produce it and the technique. Boron's time has come and gone. In aerospace, golf, bicycling, etc.. Advanced and hybrid fibers in particular carbon fibers have replaced it. Boron is a very limited application where as CF has a lot of attributes that can be manipulated. Boron is a very rigid and strong because the process is started with a string of tungsten and the boron is created around it through a process. In some application's its as hard as a diamond. on a scale of 1-10 and a 10 is diamond hard it's a 9.5 That said it isn't as strong as newer high modulus carbon fibers. Boron and Carbon fibers can also be very dangerous the fibers are so thin and sharp they can be carried by bloodstream and in military applications have been the cause of aneurysm's brain and pulmonary. be careful when cutting! How it applies to the golf shaft. Not very well, It's inconsistent in flex, weight, and durability. Boron always has structural defects and morphological irregularities. It does not conduct vibration as well as carbon either. Boron is very expensive because of the tungsten string in the center. The Future is in hybrid mixes of carbon fibers as well as carbon nano tubes. While we are on this topic another interesting tid bit is Graphite vs Carbon Sheets. During the heat treatment process if carbon fiber is heated above 2500*C it becomes graphite. It's bonds break and it reorganizes into a more stable graphite form. Crazy Royal Decoration and CRZ-460 Review
TourSpecGolfer replied to JMCMB's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs

Ryoma Special Tuning Hi Cor - Who is ordering?
TourSpecGolfer replied to bogeydog's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I'm thinking 9.5 w/ Royal Deco shaft myself. I need to make up my mind soon or I will miss the window. -
Bangvoo Premium and Diamana Proto Stinger
TourSpecGolfer replied to taibo's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Just buy a white board if you can't find the stinger. Same shaft minus the boron. For me it's the Bangvoo (non 787), I've played both and even swinging 105 the stinger is not what I call user friendly. -
Taking Ryoma Hi COR driver and new FW Pre Orders Now
TourSpecGolfer replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
My suggestion to everyone who want's them is to get them now. 15 yards longer than the current Ryoma driver. 30 over other drivers. I can't imagine. They are almost gone gone. -
I've actually gamed these in black. They wear as any other black finish will. Face goes silver sole begins to looked a brushed grey, It's a good look. It's not plated it's a black finish so it will wear. Satin or chrome is a plating, blacks are likely coating and will wear. I suggest these irons if you play in harder turf conditions. From above these look amazing but my issue with them for my swing at least was the sharp leading edge.

Akira 3w M215 Joins Baby Brother and Sister
TourSpecGolfer replied to bogeydog's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
im playing the 3,5,7 now too. we bought the last of the mohicans on these. I have about 5 of each left. -
I was for a while and they feel really nice, easy on the joints but they were in a set of proto yururi's that didn't pack enough forgiveness for me. I ended up pulling them and forgot I had them. Ended up selling them. If I were to critique them I would say distance and feel A+. the only negative for me was my shots would leak right sometimes and I had a hard time putting a draw on the ball.

Hey Rob, Thanks for participating in the blog! That was a fun read. In regards to shaft selection. I think the Program 130's would numb up feel a bit. Do you get the boardy sensation with those? I know I did when playing them although very accurate with a slight gain in distance over steel. I also think KBS lack's superb feel as well but to each is own. Never tried the C-Tapers. I'm waiting to shaft up the Crazy shafts as well. It's been a bit hot where I'm at so I dread getting out these days... Guess I will just work on the new TSG..;) For me and this is so personal but NS Pro has the best feel imo. I'm actually still a fan of the NS950 provided its in a low launching head but that's not very fun is it. Shimada's are good but don't have that buttery feel the NS Pro's have. One negative for me is that my dispersion is wider with NS shafts, even the 1150's. My current gamers are soft stepped NS1150's in AF302's. I would jump to the ONOFF's in a heart beat.
-
Hi Exhaloprez, That's interesting because head vs head fourteens vs your Razr MB's the Callaways will have the lower trajectory. Now shaft vs shaft the 950GH HT have a much higher trajectory than the Project X. So overall what you are seeing doesn't make sense to me. If it were me personally I would take the ONOFF Forged over the Fourteen 710's. I think the 710's are a hair smaller and quite a bit less forgiving. The ONOFF's also feel softer at impact.
-
The Bridgestone/GD 10-03 is very much like a DJ-6 but softer from what I'm told. What I'm thinking now for you is an SR flex. As far as carry and your trajectory goes with the BS/GD 10-3 would you like higher or lower? More carry or more roll?

Stew didn't you hit this at the show in feb? It's a decent driver, feels good and on the firm side.
