  1. GSS is the same thing as Japanese SUS303/304 People get in a rah rah over the marketing term.

will keep an eye out for you. I feel bad for ya man.

I'm asking Sasaya-san if he would start turning our conforming wedges into non conforming.
  4. I've been gaming the BangVoo for many months now. Love it, It's not the stout 787 like stew but the standard model 260 cpm stiff spec. Tatsuro also games the 787 stiff in a Jbeam 10* head. He is a 9* X-flex kinda guy and his 10* stiff flex combo kills everything.

my thoughts are: steel = lower trajectory, heavier balance, more harsh on joints, more accurate graphite = more expensive, higher trajectory, easier on body, more distance I go with steel if I feel cheap but graphite especially high end graphite is the way to go. Tour AD and Crazy would be the best route.
  6. I think it's apples to oranges. the tour edge is a hybrid, the egg well I'm not sure if we can even compare that to a normal FW. my opinion ( I have not hit the tour edge ) is the Egg will smash it when it comes to distance and forgiveness. Spin I can't comment on but I think the Egg is pretty boring.
  7. these fakes have a CNC milled cavity versus a forged pressed cavity direct from the original tooling. Endo doesn't CNC mill the design of the back cavity.
  8. I too would like to try some crazy shafts in my FW's and UT woods.
  9. The 380 feels great, distance is decent, shape is amazing. I don't think it has the best distance but it's a good value overall. +1 on the Yonex steel fairways, that and the new Akira are tops when it comes to traditional type woods.
  10. PRGR Egg Spoon for pure distance. Akira M215 for best all around FW.
  11. Ah, gotcha! It is a Tour Model, It looks like it packs more meat lower on the club head than its predecessors. We already have people lining up for these after this post was made. I find these to be very different compared to the 11's and wasn't expect such a drastic change as in the past Yamaha has made more subtle changes to the tour model irons annually. As usual look to bogeydog for first impressions when released as he is always the first to receive his from TSG

the AF152 is a solid setup, soft feel and very forgiving make it a top pick. If spin is your concern Jbeam makes some that while maybe not as forgiving it will fly dead straight with a decent swing. I also like Ryoma's spin attributes as well.
  13. You guy's think these could be the non tour models for 2012?
  14. Yonex is telling me its a very whippy training aid now..lol. love the mixed info. yes sorry i meant DI not DJ, always mix those two up.
  15. yes it is!!! wow good find!
  16. I've got the dark colored 120g in stiff already. I just haven't figured out what heads to stick on them.
  17. sorry I don't know for sure.
  18. actually today he is using his orange DJ shaft, I asked yonex what shaft the white one was, they sent me a video of him swinging the DJ series in orange just a few hours ago from their cell phone.
  19. yup a tour ad prototype, no name yet. It's mid kick, 75 gram range. im told.
  20. The Akira UT is along the lines of the TourStage XUT and ONOFF Labo Spec Fairway Wings, These all fly low have a mid trajectory and a very deep face.
  21. The 13* should be a bit easier to hit, the 11.5 lower. I'm not using it enough, max is twice a round. Sometimes depending on the course zero. look for it in the next inventory sale.

I always fit to the basics when I know I will be playing a set for an extended period of time. The 5 basic's are: Loft/Lie/Length/Swing Weight/Grip Size if your specs are spot on and you have the right shaft your pretty much set.
  23. this would look good done custom.
  24. I'm considering a 3,5,7 combo of these with DJ-8 shafts. Tatsuro and I thought it was the best FW period. The yonex 13* steel is another hot one but this particular akira is unreal.
