  3. I assume you mean R9 Forged TP? It isn't out or announced yet so no one as hit it. Expect first sight in Feb 2010.
  4. Hopefully it's coming soon, we are still negotiating details. Things look promising. The Irons are from Kyoei, the wedge blanks come from Kyoei or Oichi. Whatever the case its J.I.S S25C from Himeji.
  5. #1 it performs and feels amazing and best of all it's simply the best options ever provided for any driver or at least that I have seen. You can get the same service from Honma but it costs you about 5,000 - 6,000 USD. I hit all of the Kamui drivers, the 456 silver reminds me of the 460ZR it has that area on the face where you see the two types of materials by difference in color. Feel ranks very high for me, distance is up there with the best and the options make this IMO the best current driver on the market.
  6. Geotech just keeps the new gear coming and this time with the completion of the SP Series line of clubs. The new Geotech SP Fairway wood retails at only $69.00, it's made of SUS630 Stainless with a maraging face. Made by the same factory that produces many other well known expensive brands its a steal. It features a wide flat sole with cut away heel and toe area and comes available in 3,5,7 woods. The 3 is square but the 5 & 7 are both open faced half a degree. The SP Utility Wood is available in 16.5/19.5/23/16* lofts all with a square face angle those are also made with the same philosophy of cut away heel and toe and SUS630 stainless body with maraging face sole. These also retail at $69.00. Last is the new SP Iron at only 59.00 bucks a head again a killer price for what your getting, It isnt forged but its made of SUS431 stainless featuring a semi wide sole with a rolled off heel as well as a rounded leading edge. I have samples in hand and let me tell you the finish, design, and manufacturing of these are on par with any top OEM in the states at a fraction of the price. Best part is they are available shafted or head only to the customer.
  7. More Images Guys! Shafted mine up several days ago will post a review in the GTI Blog asap!
  8. No release date yet, these are actually pics of early tour prototypes. As soon as they are available to us or Japan TSG will make them available to you.
  9. I think it's an excellent choice for a Fairway wood because it has a higher launch by design and kick point. For drivers it does pretty much what they advertise, feels good, has a noticeable kick, goes high. Big carry, not so much roll and tipping is a good idea if you want to firm it up. I've tried the 46g Stiff Flex for maybe 1-2 rounds in one of the drivers i used. If you have a smooth tempo a mid 90's swing speed and your bad shot is a fade or slice It's a worthy option.
  10. wow these are a must have. It's not often ONOFF produces product at Endo.

  15. X-Blade 703 Forged TheTourStage X-Blade 703 Iron looks to be a real contender in the forged player's CB arena coming in 2010. Always around this time of year in the end of summer/fall release we can usually catch a glimpse of whats to come around February - March of the following year. In this case it's first look at the Tourstage X-Blade 703 Forged Irons. The TourStage 703 Forged CB doesn't have official specifications noted yet but It is safe to assume their flagship X-BLADE series would be made of soft S20C and forged at Endo ( we can only guess ). The craftsmanship and design would appear to be at that high a level also. A clean and modern shape with some major updates like a cut away sole areas deep cavity and full perimeter weighting. X-Drive 703 TourStage will be releasing its X-Drive 703 driver which appears to be a more forgiving and fine tuned version of the previous model. The weighting screw is still not available to the publicbut I'm sure pro support has a blast adjusting head weights with that method. If it's forgiving enough it will be a hit as TourStage always brings it with their launch, ball speeds, and usually feel. I am looking forward to hitting all their new products soon. We dont have exact release dates yet but will keep you updated also we should be getting an advance set in for pics and testing.
  16. via gocchin from GolfToImpress.com Taylormade releases a lot of new golf clubs on a regular basis. This is because their R&D department is always working away at producing new designs and trying new things. Some people say they come out with too many products too fast but this is in fact a strategy used by TM emulated from believe it or not Japanese brands. Golf brands believe golfers want to see the latest innovations and see them quick. As Mark King CEO was quoted in BusinessWeek back in February: A few years ago they came out with MWT or Moveable Weight Technology and this year in the R9 series FCT or Flight Control Technology. What many golfers don't know is that these technologies did not just happen overnight. Taylormade has been working on them for a very long time and have in fact developed many prototypes over the years that have not made it to the retail market or tour scene at all. These are the true prototypes of Taylormade. The work of Mr. Toulon and Mr. Vincent A big part of Taylormade's club evolution is Sean Toulon, EVP of Innovation, Global Product and Brand Creation. Mr. Toulon was a former Taylormade sales representative who founded Zevo Golf, a cutting edge brand that included Zevo Shot control an adjustable driver, before coming back to TM and heading up equipment marketing before being promoted to his current position. Golf Today in Japan recently featured Mr. Toulon and another Taylormade visionary, Benoit Vincent, Chief Technology Officer and their prototype and development work for creating the new R9 Series. Mr. Toulon along with Mr. Vincent, have brought Taylormade to new heights of innovation over the past decade with MWT and FCT. Lets peek into the history of some of Taylormade's innovative prototypes of years past. Flight Control Technology First lets take a look at Flight Control Technology. The first FCT style "sleeve" first appeared in 2001 with the 360Ti driver. This sleeve which was built as a part of the driver allowed shafts to be changed in and out. In 2006 Taylormade placed a "Select Fit System" sleeve on the Burner Iron. In 2007 the makings of an R9 sleeve began with a prototype in the r7 425. Between 2007 and 2008, Taylorade used a r7 CGB Prototype which featured a very close to production FCT sleeve and sole screw for attachment. In 2009 the R9 Series with Flight Control Technology was officially born! Moveable Weight Technology Taylormade first began playing with the idea of changing weight on a driver back in1993 with its M27 Prototype which was a catridge type removable plate in the back of the head. In 2002 they utilized a 3 weight variation system in an R500 Series Prototype. This was a smaller catridge system with smaller weights inserted into the back bottom sole. In 2002 and 2003 they the first MWT Prototype was born utilizing three head screw weights in the toe heel and back of the driver. This prototype evolved into the R510 MWT Prototype which actually used 4 weight ports, one in the toe and one in the heel and two in the back sole. MWT can now be found in drivers and fairway woods and utilities and even Taylormade putters. Being able to change your ball flight has helped make Taylormade not only the number one driver on tour but also one of the best selling brands worldwide. The introduction of Flight Control Technology has helped them gain even more market share as it allows even the average golfer to adjust loft, lie, face angle and change shafts on the fly. This has allowed different swing type players to purchase the exact same driver and configure it for their own type of shot. So what does the future have in store for Taylormade? Most likely more innovation and busy rollout schedule to satisfy every golfer's needs. Get your FCT fix in the pro shop with the XR FCT, R9 Max and R9 Max Type E!
  17. You guys may laugh but I play bad when I shower & shave before a round.
  18. Im a bit confused by the " Made in Japan " printing. It isnt an engraving and I honestly dont know where these were produced. Could these actually be made in Japan or do they mean assembled in Japan?
  19. The AF302 and AF502 are supposed to be noticeable improvement over the 301 & 501. It's taken Epon a while to come up with irons that build upon such performing original designs but they have done it. I am awaiting the public release with anticipation because I know golfers will love the way the new product performs.
  20. It's just the weight that is difference. The profiles are exactly the same.
  21. The Legacy Driver Tour Model by Callaway Golf is set to be released early October as a Japan Only product. This model is part of Callaway Japan's flashship LEGACY series similar to the original model released in 2008 except this one is geared to the Pro or Better Golfer. This Legacy Tour Driver is 440cc's with a compact and pear head shape design. It also features a traditional hosel type unlike many of Callaway's recent U.S offerings, they went with the traditional hosel for 3 reasons, the first is the player can sense more kickback during and after the swing, the second is this allows the golfer to have more control to fade or draw when working the shot and lastly a stronger trajectory. The design philosiphy is based off of Control, Distance, & most importantly Feel. Callaway Japan has found that these are the top 3 attributes for the better golfer. Callaway is using its Hyperbolic face design which is chemical milled of Alpha + Beta treated Titanium, it's overall MOI and center of gravity location promotes medium penetrating ball flight. Available with a a variety of new shafts like the AMORPHOUS by Mitsubishi, Mamiya ATTAS, MOTORE VC6.0, and The DIAMANA 'ILIMA Callaway is way ahead of the curve as far as its custom offerings. The previous legacy driver geared toward the average player had an amazing stock shaft and by the looks of the Tour versions stock shafts specs and profile this one is highly suggested. Available in 8.5, 9.5, and 10.5* lofts. The Callaway Legacy Hybrid was designed for the average to better golfer, this is not exactly on the same low handicap level as the Tour Driver mentioned above. This new utility has the ability to match up with the Legacy Forged Irons very well for a flow between hybrid & longer irons. In addition to a shallow face design there is a steeper drop off while it tapers off to an also shallow rear end, from side view the face looks much deeper than its back. The reason why they did this was to achive a higher launch angle by putting optimal thickness and weighting in areas needed most. The use the term straight offset and the reason why they made it this was is because often the average golfer pulls some of their hybrid shots, this is a combonation of user friendly design + player friendly specifications. A special drag resistant triple cut sole design is subtle but supposed to prevent the ball from getting stuck in longer grass. It cuts away more and more near the far back end especially on the heel side. Available in a standard Legacy 60h & 50h shaft in SR and R you will also have the option of an ultra light 40h model for the ladies and a GS95 steel shaft for men who want heavier, lower, and a tighter despersion. Coming Japan Only on October 1st make sure to visit TourSpecGolf to secure your pre order before the first batch sell's out. The lofts available will be 21,24, & 27*
  22. Hey guy's an FYI I confirmed the shaft is Orange not red. Looks like a very dark rich orange.
