  1. No sir terry is an employee of the international agent. Epon ships from Japan to the USA, very little inventory or soft goods will come from Taiwan when Japan is out of stock but whatever the case none of the golf clubs are made in Taiwan. If it's made in Japan, and thats confirmed by Epon & TSG, there is no reason to be so interested in Taiwan.
  2. I really wish we could because all over the world people can't find the product so they come to us for help. It's not a matter of the distributors not doing a good job, the USA + UK have reached out to just about every store we can but the truth is that your average store doesnt sell a 1200.00 driver or 2000.00 irons often at all. The MSRP is increasing and so is the shops price making it unattractive for the store owner to tie up thousands in expensive product. Also take into account that TSG is the only one marketing them, when they should be marketing themselves.
  3. 302 is pretty awesome man, I think its a noticeable improvement over the 301. Same great feel but more forgiving
  4. They are both superior to the 101 & EMB in just about every way except when hit well I still find the 101 a hair longer than the 151. I honestly wish I could say I liked them better than the 460ZR of old though, that puppy just felt amazing and was more forgiving than the 101 or 151 due to it's shape in my opinion not it's MOI. The 151 sits very well, it feels better than 95% of the drivers on the market and it's pretty forgiving compared to other " player drivers " but not the most forgiving compared to others average tier clubs. When put on the launch monitor at a friends proshop it did OK but wasnt a stand out. Shockingly Yamaha came in the longest with best ball speeds while Geotech's GT455 came in second and third to the Callaway Legacy Tour. By the way it's the old Yamaha driver used in the testing not the new one in the proshop. I really wish I had the TourStage 703 in the mix but we didnt get it in time also I didnt have a Kamui on hand for the test either. The EMS is a big improvement over the EMB, feels much better, and it sets up very well also for a super forgiving type club however in both cases i feel like although it improves over the previous models by Epon it doesnt stand out against other drivers on the market the EMS tied with the Taylormade Japan Burner. The aesthetics are very good, the quality is all there so I would describe them as an evolution instead of revolution and for a club that costs over 1100 bucks it needs to be a jaw dropper. Let's hope they make a TOUR version of the 151 and EMS, with heavier head weights, bring back the ol 460ZR face, & add a behind the face technology like Callaway, TourStage, Taylormade, and Yamaha has. Then I think we may have a contender for the top spot. IMO if they follow those suggestions we will have a winner! I have to admit I am usually very biased toward Epon but Yamaha, TourStage, Callaway, & PRGR are next gen and a sign of what we will see in the future as far as technology and performance goes.
  5. Already sold out in Japan, with just several more for the International market. The new i33 limited Epon putter has a very heavy 369 gram head weight. The face is extremely flat done by super precise CNC milling while the remarkable milling pattern on its face stabilizes the spin rate for a better roll. The Satin finish + Boron plating helps to avoid sun reflection. It's a very soft and good feeling putter.
  6. Here you go guys, from my perspective the 502 is a hair longer heel to toe with a thinner topline than the 501 model. Overall it looks better, feels better, its long like the 701 but more consistent in distance control and much more forgiving. I know that may sound too good to be true but it is an improvement in just about every category there is. I think epon really thought out the design and performance extremely well for their new 2010 products.
  7. The AF151 sits in between the The AF101 & EMS driver. Its Forged in Japan of JIS grade high intensity titanium alloy and is USGA approved for tour and amatuer use. Versus the 101 model it features a bit shallower face height, a deeper center of gravity, and a higher MOI. The feel and sound of the 151 has also been enhanced making it more rewarding at impact than any other Epon driver. Available in 9.5, 10.5, and 11.5* lofts with a total head volume of 460cc's. As usual you can get the new A-151 with a custom face angle & head weight. We will be posting more images and reviews in this thread as it comes along. If your interested and want to purchase one please PM myself or gocchin for an online fitting.
  8. For those of you who haven't read the post Epon has changed their online sales policy for TSG allowing us to offer the product to our members in North America only once again. If you have a North American address and have any interest in the new Epon product please feel free to PM myself or Gocchin. Here is the skinny on the new 502 Irons: Production Method: Super Precision Forged Body: J.I.S S20C Face: Super Spring Steel Hardness Rating: approx HRB80 Finish: Nickel Chrome Made in Japan The target customer for the Epon 502 Forged Iron is the player who wants a combo of playability with forgiveness and extra distance. The high COR iron with variable face thickness also features a hollow body that is filled with a special alpha gel material to enhance feel by muting vibration, it makes the head feel softer as well. The distance is noticeably longer than other forged irons on the market, think AF701 with less offset, thinner topline, much better feel and the same ultra long distance. If you would like to see comparrison pics between the new Epon models vs the older ones let us know in this thread, I will do my best to keep it updated.
  9. Their top agent is located in Taiwan, He is from Japan and there is a good amount of inventory at his warehouse. I can confirm that the Epon product is all Forged in Japan.
  10. Yup its been announced a FORGED version Japan only model of the CG15! Yes its made 100% in Japan.
  11. Just found these images for those interested in the new X-Blade 703 Irons from TourStage.
  12. I've had the demo's for a while and IMO dont think they are as muted like the 302's. Tinky may not be the right word, the only other i can think of is Tink/Thwack. It is a better feel than the AF701 & AF501 for sure but not the 302. IMO the 302 feels a bit better than the 301 and I actually enjoy it more than the AF-Tour. Another issue may be that I have KB's installed in the 302's and NSPRO 1050 in the 502 demo. The Epon product we distribute to stores accross america arrives to us shipped from Japan and inspected by staff located in Niigata Japan.
  13. Yes the feeling is very different between the 502 & 302, the 502 has the hollow body making it more tinky.
  14. Ya know it's a good time to lock up a set of the up and coming Yamaha Tour Ltd. Those are my choice this coming season
  15. The New Callaway TOURi (S) ball was just revealed at the HSBC Champions event in Shanghai. Two of the top 3 players put it into play for the first time, Ernie Els & Ryan Moore. Golf.com's David Dusek recently broke the story. The early skinny on this ball is that it's the softest ball Callaway has ever produced. That's pretty cool but Soft Balls are not the friendliest right? Well Callaway has taken that problem into account and made this new 4 piece ball with a different compression on the inner than the outer core what Callaway claims this does sounds like music to my ears. The ball in theory is supposed to put a lot of spin on iron and wedge shots while putting very little spin on drives. Key Points: 1. Callaway's Softest Golf Ball 2. Callaway's Softest Spinning Golf Ball Around the Green 3. Spin Separation ( low spin in longer shots, high spin & excellent touch for shorter shots ) Steve Ogg, Callaway's vice president of ball R&D claims this to be " The most highly-engineered golf ball product we have ever come out with. " Can this be? The Ball's of all Ball's or is Mr. Ogg just doing his job? Normally I would say its the latter but what are the odds that 2 of the top 3 guys in the ball's inaugural event claim its superior to anything else out there. "I started playing a new golf ball that Callaway made," Els said. "This is what I've been looking forward to, is this golf ball. It would have been unbelievable if I could have won with this ball. It would have been great for Callaway and myself. I'm looking forward to the future now, and I think my equipment is now spot on." Pretty interesting and I personally can't wait to give this ball a try, I am a big fan of softer covered balls because I like the way they react with the scoring clubs but I do drive the ball much better with harder low spin balls. The real question is can this ball do everything they say it will. More info to come...
  16. I have both and IMO I think the Egg is better for you, or most people in genera. It's just flat out longer, easier to hit, the feel and sound isnt as good but my best guess is you will take the other attributes over that.
  17. Nice update Gocchin! I too can't tell the difference in an HCR driver versus usga legal yet when we have tested them on launch monitors I notice a little more spin & just a hair more carry on the HCR. The Works 456 is a hidden gem indeed
  18. Masayuki Sasaya is known to produce some of the best putters in the world. With the launch of Gold's Factory USA in America in the early part of 2009 he has expanded awareness of his brand to an international scale. All 2009 series GF USA putters have sold out as we eagerly await a peak at whats to come in 2010. We are excited to announce that we have found out from TSG sources that Master Sasaya plans to produce a total line up of products including: J.I.S Forged ( anser putter ) J.I.S SUS303 ( anser putter same material as Cameron's GSS ) J.I.S Squared ( center shaft similar to Cameron's Square Back ) (Prototype) Muscle Back (Prototype) Cavity Back (Prototype) Half Muscle J.I.S Wedge Elite Level Wedge While we do not have images of all the new products we do however have the very first 2 putter models photographed in the wild minus all the crazy modifications and personal flare GF customers select on top of the base design. We believe the thought process is to offer an affordable 100% Japan made product that gives the customer the ability to customize to their own desires at the time of purchase or in the future. The starting price of the previous models were pretty high at 1250.00 + but those came with all the bells and whistles, this time Sasaya San is offering base models that have a standard head weight of 350 grams and lots of blank space to add customizations. We are hearing that the base models will run below 700 USD before options and enhancements are selected. JIS: SUS303 JIS Forged:
  19. The old models will still be available for about 6 months I am told. The prices will not stay the same they will actually be going up. Yes even on the 301 & 501 models! Many accounts are upset about this and we share their frustration but it was not our decision to make. If anyone wants a club maker in their area to have the Epon account please contact [email protected] and we will reach out to that store on your behalf to start the account.
  20. I am all about the EGG in any loft, the club is so easy to hit super long and straight.
  21. They only cost 3.00 in the forum. PM if you would like to place an order.
  22. Does yours have the face insert? Is it FIT or honeycomb pattern?
