There is a variety of opinions on this matter, my personal take is modern lofts are good. You want a medium trajectory this will help over traditional lofts and balance really doesnt come into play with lofts IMO. In regards to distance I enjoy modern lofts as well. Make sure your lie angle is perfect and find out if you have distance gaps then try to adjust lofts to close them up a bit. You dont have to get all your lofts the same degree apart from each other just make sure to minimize the gaps.

I wouldnt agree with the Tour Stiff at 95mph swing speed. The Basarra in my opinion is a bit anti left which may be increasing the fade for you.

Great Review! The ability to swing harder with a tighter result is thanks to the 80 ton carbon. Thanks for your post please keep us posted on any new findings.

New 17mm Tungsten Option by Gold's Factory
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Hey C, Ok so the head is standard 350g and you want to make it 370-375ish correct? If thats right around 2 x 12mm or 17mm will get you to 370. When master Sasaya CNC's the hole for the tungsten it removes half the weight of the tungsten. So CNC hole -10g add 20g tungsten +10 grams. You can put it on the face or sole. -

PRGR New TR500 Forged Limited Edition
TourSpecGolfer replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
They look unreal and what may do it for me is that they appear to be a compact players CB from above and below but have the mass behind the face of something a little more forgiving. I think these could be my 2010 gamers! -
Great Post! Right now I would say PRGR because the GN502 Tour is an amazing driver, I could not live without their fairway woods, The TR500 Forged limited irons are crazy awesome, MTI wedges are a bit ugly but perform well and are easy to use in just about any conditions. The only drawback is the putter although they feel good and are weighted well they just look a little too modern for me. My second choice would be TourStage, No doubt amazing drivers and fairway woods that are much easier to hit than previous designs, The X-Blade 703 cavity backs are the perfect in between iron not too game improvement yet not exactly a compact players CB, the TourStage wedges have always been really good. The last part which is the putters is the most difficult part with this brand, they dont do it for me visually but I know they do the job. Third choice is Yamaha I can play everything they have and be happy except again the putters are an issue. Fourth is Fourteen, TC550 very easy to hit and smooth, the driver which is made by Endo and fairway woods are not the easiest to hit but still better than most, the wedges really are solid and the putters are pretty darn decent. Epon would rank #5, although they make great gear like the AF302, AF151, and i33 putter which are all outstanding I just can't dail in the 208KGX wedge to save me and the fairway wood kills confidence and has a low percentage success rate compared to others.

I hit the TVD CC vs the previous TVD and I am 120% against the new groove rule. I feel like spin is reduced by 20+%
-
I think the difference is minimal. At about 110 mph it creates about 5 yards more carry. at 100 mph I thought it was around 2. Your spin rates are also supposed to increase as well.

2010 Golds Factory Muscle Backs!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
There are 2 more versions of Prototype Gold's Factory Muscle Backs coming out. I think everyone who participated in this post will be happy we implemented a lot of their suggestions. The CB is in its very early stages. -
I would suggest having a look at: The Yamaha Tour V201 Yamaha V201 Callaway Legacy Tour Custom Kamui Head TourStage 703 I think depending on the head alone to achive a result will take you there slower, Get one in a lower loft, and a high kick shaft and I think you will be very happy. I would have Kamui build one custom with weighting to provide a lower launch.

Two 2010 JDM Drivers I'm Most Interest In
TourSpecGolfer replied to BigEasy's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The Legacy Tour looks amazing especially it's face profile but it's for a different player than the 2010 XXIO driver which is much more user friendly in my opinion. I personally would go with the Legacy Tour and put a very easy swinging shaft on it. -
Zestaim Fi-2 toe heel forged - Any reviews?
TourSpecGolfer replied to Randy's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Here's what you can do order the standard version in the ProShop and in the checkout memo area write that you would like to order the strong loft version that was not listed. -
This year Taylormade Japan has put out two amazing releases the Burner Forged which I was able to hit and felt it was not only very forgiving but setup well and felt really good and the Burner TP irons which also feel soft ( not even forged ) and setup like a dream, very little offset, very thin topline and the stock prototype GD shaft makes it feel even better at impact.

Zestaim Fi-2 toe heel forged - Any reviews?
TourSpecGolfer replied to Randy's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Yes exactly that they produce a semi traditional and a strong lofted version. I has able to hit the Zestaim Fi-2 CB and it felt amazing at impact and the best part was how forgiving it was. Zestaim produces very underrated irons. -
Hey! Right on man, I appreciate the time and effort put into this chart. Thanks!

Yamaha Tour Model Irons Let's Compare!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
That would be cool but I would still take the Yamaha's. I think the 302's do the job they are intended and so do the Yamaha's. Same material S20C same factory and the Yamaha's are more rare and cost less. -
2010 Golds Factory Muscle Backs!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Kyoei is the manufacture of Vega. The former president of Kyoei left to run Vega and distribute Ozik shafts in Japan. It is not the same as Epon/Endo those two are one in the same. Vega is seperate of Kyoei. That is why other brands can use the same Kyoei models that Vega also uses. Kyoei does own Zestaim. -
The new ilima is like an updated red board, If your gonna lay down cash go that route.

2010 Golds Factory Muscle Backs!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Gold's was never doing anything with Vega. Vega and Kyoei are not one as many people have thought. Vega uses Kyoei head designs and puts their logo on it. Yes a New Golds CB is in the works. -
Gold's Factory SC Respect Putter
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Right now we can only do center shaft w/ weld and heel bend shaft w/ weld. The same shaft as Cameron is not available as we would have to produce at least a hundred or two to have it made. -
Yamaha Tour Model Irons Let's Compare!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
To compare the two, they are both amazing choices. I think the AF302 is more forgiving and a hair better in feel but I just cant resist the setup and profile of the Yamaha's.
