EGG Spoon (PX-03) EGG 5 Fairway (PX-03FW)
-
Do you mean F145 and F175 Fairway Woods? If so, I really love that head. I think its all stainless, I still have the 5 wood that I play sometimes. Now that is what I wish all fairway woods felt and sounded like. Quad 6 isnt all that bad. Its a very stable shaft that doesnt pull many tricks.

It does have a little bit of reverse offset.

You guys may have seen it in the blog but I wanted to go ahead and post images of the new 210KGX wedge that Epon is set to release early May. It appears many brands are going for the higher CG designs. Epon was ahead of the curve and did this a while ago with their old HG wedge.

I just sold my old Egg's for some new lofts. Just picked up the Egg spoon and the Egg 17* FW. will post pics and a review soon. We are all pretty familiar with these fairway woods but I just can't get over how easy they are to hit and how long they travel.

Crazy TJ-46 with Kamui 456 Inital Impressions
TourSpecGolfer replied to bogeydog's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I made the mistake of going to soft in one of my crazy shafts at R2. The waggle felt like what I was used to in regards to stiffness but on the course the R2 left the hanging not allowing the head to catch up. I tried the same TJ-46 shaft in stiff flex it felt like a pole during the waggle but during the swing i was shocked that it was smooth and there was nice kick. I have to revise my opinion on Crazy shafts, Just because they CPM to a much stiffer flex dont go too much softer. The flex vs feel is deceptive. At the very most go 1 flex down. -
You mean watch JPGA events on U.S TV? I wish there was but even via the web we can't find the video.
-
Yup QT is a great shaft for fairway woods due to the high launch. Yet so is the DI series and even the Diamana i'lima if you need some float to your ball.

702's are coming, should be around August.

If you visit the Miura website and click on forging process it shows multiple steps of the forging process. Miura begins at step #4. Steps #1, #2, and #3 which are the main ones are done by another foundry nearby. No single company that size has the capacity to do their own forgings in the golf industry.

Epon AF-502 Custom Black Irons w/ Crazy LY Shafts
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The finish is holding up after 2 1/2 rounds. I'm still getting used to them I have a slight leaking to the right issue going on. I plan to take pics and post a longer review in this thread after a couple more rounds or whenever i figure out my problem. -
I think the DI-6 has more feel than the Motore. I didn't have the weight issue with it, felt perfect to me but then again I don't mind playing light shafts. Try a DI-7 or 8 maybe. We all have different swings. I played several rounds with the 102 DI-6 SR and like B said it was smooth and hard kicking.
-
Yup 44" is a very playable length for me. I personally think high end shafts do not need to be adjusted very much or at least I can't tell much of a difference. In Japan I hit 2 of the same club, same specs on an indoor LM one had everything done to it the other was bone stock. The numbers were the same. I will flo my clubs any time i have a chance but have no problems using Japan factory installs.

Epon AF-502 Custom Black Irons w/ Crazy LY Shafts
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The Black and Copper finish will wear fairly quickly. Also I dont suggest it for states with high humidity or salt levels. I am going to take pics after 3 rounds of golf to show you guys how it wears and post it in this thread. After every round I will do a quick spray of WD-40. I don't use iron covers. -
TM Burner Forged versus Callaway Diablo Forged/Legacy
TourSpecGolfer replied to golfware's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
IMO the TM Burner Forged is the way to go. It's not as large as the Legacy or Diablo Forged Iron. The setup is much better for the eye but really have a look at the Epon AF-502, they are a better shape and size, much longer and forgiving. -
I think your missing some of the best drivers available in your poll. I assume your a solid player as a couple of the drivers you are looking at are not exactly user friendly. Don't be shame to move to a more forgiving bracket I'm just going to spout off some comments about some drivers: - Callaway Legacy Tour: Awesome compact driver, made by Endo Forged Ti, Its not forgiving but it's super pure for the better player. Also very long distance as rated by rating-gate JPN. - PRGR GN502 Tour 440cc: it's got the best face shape I have seen ever, It sets up really well. - Callaway Type S Driver: Still a players driver not suggested for the mid handicapper. I suggest this over the tour as its a bit more forgiving. Made well, feel is great, awesome distance. - Epon AF102: I highly suggest this driver custom built to your specs, very long, amazing feel, setup like 440 but its actually 460. Epon/Endo quality. - Yamaha Inpres V201 or Tour Model, both work for the better player. The Tour model will have a lower flight but more of a pure feel. Tour is only 430cc's sit's very compact, its rare. - Crazy CRZ-435 w/ LY TJ-46 Shaft! Highly suggested, I think this would be the longest driver of them all. Great DAT55G face that feels great. almost 440cc's - Kamui 456 or 420, dont overlook Kamui it's fully custom hand made in Japan, DAT55G face, can be setup to every spec you desire. - TourStage 703 Limited: Compact VERY Pear shaped great stock shaft offerings I suggest the DI-6. Nice medium high trajectory which is rare in such a small and compact package. Erase the other shafts in your poll and focus on the ones above.

I don't think Hot melt would do much for the sound except change the pitch. Foaming would for sure change the sound making it more of a thwack mute tone. I would be interested in that but I just dont want to mess with these as they perform so well.
-
I like aluminum inserts for the same reason you mention, they are soft. The sound is a bit of a loud tink but overall its a great face insert material. The blinker is a gold's factory term and I think we dont see it around very much is because it's heavy and expensive. OEM's are producing lighter putters with good MOI while keeping it one piece as well.

Crazy Wedge has a New Different Grind!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Sorry idrive, It was a mix of things, no one told us and we were quick to break the story. They only offer this new grind but later I know you will end up taking the prototypes from me anyway. -
For those who have recently purchased the 2010 Crazy Wedge this post concerns you the most. The wedges arrived and to our surprise had a different grind on them. If you did purchase them we will contact you to see if this one is good for you. Pics of the NEW actual 2010 Crazy Wedge: Custom Shafts Available but we suggest with the 50 Ton Carbon Crazy Black Wedge shaft in 90g, 100g, & 110g. The wedge shaft when purchased alone costs over 200 bucks with the Crazy wedge you can get it for half of that. You also have your choice of conforming or non conforming grooves.

Hey Shout, You don't need to look any further. We always work with the customer on price but even more importantly you have TSG to back you up if anything goes wrong as far as manufacturing defects or replacements. Trust me when things are not right the OEM gets an ear full and has to work it out. You get good prices, experts to help with online fitting and our profits are mostly reinvested into web features, in depth's and new projects. We don't simply offer Japanese products to the golf world, we seek out the best products and bring them to the main stage.
