Hands and ball position - What's your style
TourSpecGolfer replied to Mjr. D's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
When I make impact with my irons my hands are always in front of the club head. With wedges they are usually where they where when I started and same for the woods. I am a student of Bret Smith and he has helped me big time in trapping the ball with conviction and really going after it which has helped me lower my ball flight and increase my distance. -
The price vs design & quality. Lets start with the woods, they are not original designs they simply stamped their logo and graphics on some very cheaply made older heads. It would be a bit better if they used newer blanks but these are very low on the totem poll as far as chinese blanks go. Anyone has the ability to purchase these old heads for dirt cheap and do the same. In regards to their irons, wedges, etc.. No R&D just a design concept that's interesting and different not necessarily good. They do a great job making their product look cool using CNC milling but that doesn't make a quality product in my opinion. We have had many upset customers for example order 2 wedges and one of them only has half a face of milling or one head can clearly be a defect and Yururi dont care they will ship it out to our customers anyway. IMO its because they have a staff of 1, the owner. If he is traveling or busy your product will not ship out, our requests are not responded to. We have had customers order 2 wedges and 1 has major offset the other has none and its the same product. We have had customers who purchase irons and all the lie angles are exactly the same throughout the set. Or the set has 2 #7 iron lofts in the set... I can go on and on. But wait there is more.... Its a major pain to get them to honor a warranty of any type. We have to fight tooth and nails to get them to acknowledge their mistakes and send the proper product to the customer. Looking at the numbers we sell very very little Yururi products compared to other brands but still the % of complaints on the actual product itself is very high. So honestly guys, I would stay away. I suggest a brand that spends big bucks on R&D for the club you spend money on? I suggest a brand that manufactures their product with good quality control and most of all does business in a clear and honest manner. There are literally dozens of brands I will suggest with confidence over Yururi.

It's a decent driver, For the price its very good. Not really known as anything special but it performs on the level that most drivers do now days. The trajectory is a bit lower than most 10.5's in my opinion but with the stock shaft it may fly a bit higher than you have experienced from other 10.5's. If your on a budget its worth a look. Geotech is another brand that produces great clubs at a good price.

as far as GI irons go the 701 are tops in my book. They don't look as big or strange from above while having a very modern look. Very forgiving with a super hot face creating major distance. Another club that IMO fits near that category are the new Honma Beres 2009 MG803
-
I would give the nod to the 301's over the KM irons due to shape and feel. I think the 301's feel more soft and pure and offer a better design with more appealing lines. The Yururi's are pretty good but the appeal is mostly an aesthetic one due to the CNC details in the back cavity.

The M3 Hit Tour is one of my all time favorites. Perfect face angle, nice flat lie, and the semi shallow face with its shape really helped get the ball up and off the deck in a penetrating manner.
-
No sir, the last 2 models were just released recently.
-
I still have a set, They are exactly as Gocchin said The longest and most forgiving irons on the market.
-
They stopped doing woods and that has helped but still to be honest guy's I would consider other brands before Yururi.
-
We only have the 460 model at 245.00 USD + Shipping and many of them. If you need one please PM myself or Gocchin.
-
The reviews I have seen are average at best but we do have a very low price on these right now 245.00USD + Shipping with the stock original shaft. Its fairly muted for a larger head.

What do you know about this putter?
TourSpecGolfer replied to asianplow's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The Crafting Edition " The One " was one of Gauge Design Japan's last releases. It is the same thing as the standard product except it sports a blanks sole, no paintfill, and a gun metal finish. To be honest this finish will wear and rust in humid conditions especially because the putter is carbon forged steel. -

TourSpecGolfer replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The great thing about this service is that you can have your Cameron, Bettinardi, and a variety of other OEM's putters modified with the options usually only offered on Golds Factory Putters. -

Epon AF101 Driver with NGS Superdelight SR shaft
TourSpecGolfer replied to nicwyc's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
They are available through just about any NGS dealer in Japan including us. I can see how it could really help a player with a very slow tempo, slicing issues, or a slow swing speed but I do not think someone with a 100mph swing speed should be looking at this particular model. I would consider 6.7 torque a risky buy even in the low 90's. But doesn't it sound nice to have a smile from ear to ear and to get addicted to your tee shots all over again. We each have a setup that can provide this sensation it's just a matter of figuring out what it is... -
I'm seriously considering this driver with the new OZIK TP HD shaft.

The new Red Stripe Rossa putters were just introduced to Japan and they look pretty solid. Pro Shop Description: Taylormade Japan introduces its all new Rossa Red Stripe Daytona putter for 2009. The Rossa Red Stripe putters flank a long white stripe with two red ones to create an alignment aid that allow the player to esily square the ball to the target. The key is that the red stripe alingment aid is the same length as the diameter of a ball. The Red Stripes feature ASGI+ for anti skidding with instant roll and soft feel. ASGI+ reduces extra backspin to give the ball as smooth roll to the target. The Red Stripe putters feature Rossa's Smart Grip. The Smart Grip is yet another alignment aid with dots to show positioning of the hand. This allows players to remember their hand position (choked down or higher up) depending on the length of the putt. Each dot is exactly an inch apart. The Red Stripe putters are only available in 35" and made of soft 304SS and a Titalium face. Please checkout the Fontana and Corza Taylormade Red Stripe series by clicking here

I'm 5'10" and I play 1/2" shorter than U.S standard because I come down on the ball very aggressively as a picker. I noticed my chances of a bad shot which in my case is usually fat has decreased. My distance and accuracy has improved by a noticeable margin. If your bad shot is fat its worth a try.

The V4 has a lower ball flight and imo was more accurate. Have you tried the 4 against the 3 and what did you notice?
-
Also keep in mind that open model and catalog heads can have their top line, sole grind, offset and other aspects adjusted, It can also be made of a different material.

Short Review I had a chance to review the new Fourteen V4 wedges with the input of 2 very good players from my area. For a while now these wedges were on heavy back order in Japan, but now and again readily available with no shortages. This wedge is also available in a limited black edition as seen here. Style & Design: Fourteen has done a good job making this wedge stand out when compared to the majority of designs on the market. The modern engraving, gold and grey paint fill and its interesting back grind further enhance its style. Good Job fourteen on making something simple yet modern. Grind: I think its very efficient not to fancy and overcomplicated but just right and able to get through most terrain quite easily. A couple of us did notice an easier than average time in the bunkers yet also bouncy on hard to very firm lie's. We were using the 58* with a bounce of 12* the 52/56/60 each come with 8* bounce which im sure would have effected both the bunker and hard area shots. Visuals: The V4 has very little offset and a thin topline. Although the stock images appear as if they have less I was not bothered a bit by the way this wedge set's up. My playing partners as well who are extremely good players yet not well versed in high end gear and fitting described it as " an over sized butter knife " I agree its sharp looking from all angles especially face view and top view. Performance: This will work in most conditions, its not bias to one type of turf or another, it held well with my picker style impact and the impact of two very different players. It's very hard to rate spin against other wedges but imo the Spin was good to better than average and it felt fairly soft in its stock S200 shaft as tested. Custom shafts are available at TSG with a variety of other options and the feel will depend a lot on what shaft you are using and the specs the wedge is built at. Overall: I think that if I were to put an NS999, 1150, KB, or something else + had the V4 built to my specs I could play this wedge for a very long time. Pros: Awesome Shape, Versatile Wedge, Better than Average Feel, Many loft options. Cons: To much text on back, Needs heavier stock shaft options & specs.
