Jag pulls out of F1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
shoe295 replied to Mike's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearI am not a big race fan, but with all the financial issues in the domestic auto industry it is not really a surprise to me that Ford would do this...too bad cuz F1 has always been the most interesting of all race formats.

shoe295 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearHip...sorry for you loss...I am not sure that the feelings around the time of a loved one's passing ever get easier..my dad's been gone for 15 yrs and since he died on my birthday it sort of dims the celebratory mood. I can only imagine the feelings associated with a loss as a result of an act of cowardice. I noticed all the flags here were at half mast....a nice touch...I for one will not forget... on a lighter note...my wedges should be here soon, at last, then I can spend the end of Sept and all of October playing as often as possible...this is why I save my vacation time...

Primo's final rant of the year...
For a minute I was surprised to hear I'd joined another cult...I love that concept.. :-D ...I would have to agree that sometimes it seems a little slow here but then I am extremely grateful that the majority of stuff posted is worth reading. A couple of you have already stated quality over qauntity, a concept I heartily embrace. I stumbled into this site in March during one of my rambles thru the ether and have been delighted, amazed, and enlightened on a regular basis since. I have learned an incredible amount about equipment I never knew existed from people who feel the same way about this game as I do.. . I am not sure I understand being intimidated by the :money: aspect. I am far from wealth, but possessing good taste and an appreciation for quality and fine craftsmanship costs nothing. I will never be able to buy a set a week but so what...here I get the benefits of the guys who can and are willing to share those experiences( omg maybe I'm a voyeur too) for my benefit. What you are is determined by what you read and who you associate with which in my mind makes me a conniouseur of fine golf equipment, for which I thank all of the members of this site because without your knowledge and willingness to share none of this is possible. Oh yeah...it's Chris's fault...sorry oh benevolent master san...but it IS your site...I go to my closet now and confine myself to bread and water. One thing before I go...I see nothing wrong in thanking any business person for selling me something at a profit...if they do it honestly and with courtesy I want them to know I'm happy with that...having spent 20 some years in retail its nice to hear a thank you occasionally instead of questioning the legitimacy of my parentage. :-)

Gauge Japan 2005 Blades etc
I have to agree with FAQ. When I read Chris's post I thought it was some amazingly honest stuff, even to the point of brutality. I learned I had to put my ego away  and move to a driver with more loft and shaft closer to regular than stiff, and what happened was I hit the ball straighter more consistantly...ego always leads to status, buying stuff I don't need with money I don't have to impress people I don't like :-) . I like to think I've learned for when I replace my irons in the spring.. :money:

Happy belated Birthday Mike...these kids just don't know what it's like approaching the top of the rock (as opposed to over the hill)...and as a glimpse of what's ahead from one who is past the senior tour age..one of everything I have two of hurts and the other doesn't work right.. :-)

shoe295 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearMike...I saw that iMac..and what can I say but I like it..thing is really attractive to me, especially that self contained flat screen...and quiet..I read where they have 3 fans inside so they can run at a lower speed thus less noise...very nice stuff...now if I could just figure out how to make a gif picture smaller...but techno tard that I am...it may take awhile but if it can be done I'll figure it out even if I have to ask somebody..

Some dark blue, not navy but about 3-4 steps down , would be attractive..although that's a really nice looking flatstick as is

shoe295 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearMike, perhaps we do...although I do get paid amazingly well for doing very little.. Hipcheck...I commiserate with your troubles...this silly game will beat us bloody...I find that I can't take it as seriously today as I did, oh say, last week.. :o but then I haven't played a solid round in a month..just can't get things working and I'm hitting the ball reasonable well..sigh...I even went so far as to have the library special order me a book by Michael Hebron "The Art and Zen of Learning Golf". The title reminded me of something I read years ago, "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintainence" which I found extremely fascinating seeing that it had very little to do with actual maintainence...at this point in time I might even try practicing for a cure :surprize: :-) then of course I read Pete's post that he hasn't played in 9 weeks and realize that playing badly beats not playing at all...it is after all a game .... :spit: ...ah well...I gotta get it together cuz I need to make some :money: :money: and I have a money game coming up with a pair of pockets I need, make that NEED to get into in a very DEEP way....back to school clothes and all time of the year... later gentlemen, enjoy and be grateful we're not ducking shrapnel for breakfast shoe

shoe295 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearPete...welcome to the land of enchanted nut jobs..oh sorry that would be radio shack...$40 munis would kill me..sorry for your woes but I'm sure they are only temporary... last 2 rounds I played where in 25=30mph winds...fun fun fun cuz I love making stuff up...unfortunately I kept mis**tting my punch shots and my sand game was MIA...frightful front nine...absolutely frightful..but it was a hoot in that wind...line the ball up to putt and it starts moving with the breeze... :surprize: ..so of course I'm blaming my irons for this miserable failure...which leads to plotting their replacement...a visit to the clubfitter before the year is out to get correct lie angles and lengths determined, then a daydream journey thru the import forum followed by major plotting on how to liquify my assets when I have no assets so I can come up with the :money: :money: for this thing...there is no fool like a man in the midst of fooling himself...but it sure can be fun...

What do you drink after a round?
shoe295 replied to Godfather1's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearNice taste you have indeed...when I was a drinkin' man a nice single malt scotch, neat would be the choice..Glenfiddich, Glenlevit...one of the few drinks worthy of taste alone rather than effect..you, sir, are not alone rather a beacon of quality in a room of bud light consuming fireflies

Jerry's also in his 30's..just because he'd like to gnaw someone's leg off does not constitute spoiled...I don't know anything about this kid...but it kind of amuses me how labels get applied...I'm curious as to why/how he gets the spoiled tag? Nice pic's Patrick..thanks

shoe295 replied to nearfall152's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech Gearthe thing I don't like about "scary" movies is that I've lived so much of my life in abject terror of my real life I prefer other genre's for my entertainment...just me tho
