  1. Well if Australia is any indication on what we are going to see this year in F1 then I can sleep in on Sunday mornings when they head to Europe. I am sick and tired of Ferrari winning but was glad to see Renault have a good showing and BAR a top 6...I just wish JPM would not have had such a horrible start. Off tomorrow to shorten the sticks a half inch and scan that picture I said I would if I can find it. Good thing my best friend just got a mitre saw...saving a few bucks.
  2. I am also done...time to watch F1 coverage on Speed...later Mike..and to all have a good weekend
  3. I'm sure he will...I wonder if he comes down to the gutter to trool around for a bit? :D I am just glad he opened up this part of the forum for those of us who need it.
  4. Now there is an idea. But at the same time Chris might not want the competition.
  5. The pic of the boat by itself has not got enough boat out of the water. The more boat out the water the faster it is going. Well he will probably get some dumbass with more money than sense to buy it. I would love to email the buyer afterwards and show him what Chris is selling them for  . I would not do that...but it would be funny.
  6. The first two are not but the one pic that is by it's self is. Look at where the spray is coming from the bottom of the boat. The first two are going quite a bit faster. I guess speed is in the eye of the beholder. Qualifying is under way in Australia...guess who took pole in the first round of qualifying? (hint: he is not in a red car)

Try again Mike it took me a few tries.

    Oh lord...that is ridiculos.
  9. I fixed it and added another one. I will scan the pic of my father at the time trials I referred to and try and post it in the near future. This is a pic of a Norris Craft at a slower speed I would say this is going about 60 mph.
  10. This is who made the boats my uncle and father used. Also Allison Craft make fast boats. http://www.norriscraftboats.com/ http://www.allisonboats.com/ This pic is what you might be in for These are moving down the lake...I would say in the 75-85mph range...maybe a bit higher.
  11. On the back of a bass boat you find a section called the pad...after you get to a certain speed you get on it and the majority of the boat is out of the water plus the engine has been trimmed up to where less and less of it is under water. At 107 There were just a few inches of the boat actually touching the water but it is such a smooth ride. Just strap on your helmet, neck support, and racing jacket and it is quite smooth. The boat was a 17 1/2 foot Norris Craft (Manufactured in LaFollete TN) with a 2.4 6 cylinder Mercury outboard engine that was worked on quite a bit and just enough flotation to get the boat declared legal w/o the engine (if it overturned with the engine it would have sank). The boat was named Smokin Gold 2. I still get to see my uncle test props when he is getting ready to go on a trip in our cove. He ran some quarter miles in the low 12 second range. I used to love to just ride up and down the lake at 70 mph to 80mph. I actually can't stand to fish but if I had the right boat (need an extra $50,000) I probably would not be playing golf....just running up and down the lake.
  12. It's a totally different game. Faxon was unbelievable, the guy just did not miss putts. We're going around and I'm thinking he's not playing too bad today anyway I look at the leaderboard and he busted out a 63, 9 under. I thought Byrd had a bad day and he shot a 68. Two years ago he got to play with Micheel who was sweating keeping his card a little. Incredible ball striker and super nice guy, just couldn't make a putt to save his life. That's the real difference on tour, putting it seperates the contenders from the pretenders. That is great...it just goes to show you we are not playing the same game.
  13. Mike, I actually thought of going into racing boats. My father held the record in his division for a 17 1/2 foot bass(fishing boat) at one time in the 1980's. He was timed at 107 mph. This was a 2 run measurement average of both times. The time stood for a while until a group from Canada came down and broke it. He taught me how to drive the boat and at age 14 I was topping the century mark. This scared my dad because he said it came to naturally to me and he knows how dangerous boats can be so he would only let me drive like that with him in the boat. My uncle still tests for Mercury outboards. I haven't driven a boat that fast since he sold it and I hate to go out on the pontoon boat he has now...too damn slow. Thought about cars but at the time I was interested it was not an option.
  14. I've gotten to do some cool stuff in golf, like caddy for my boss in the Las Vegas Pro Am for a few years now and last year we made it to the weekend playing with Faxon and Byrd. However, playing the big A is every golfer's dream. I'm just having a hard time grasping how incredible it would be to walk that hallowed ground. First off if I got the chance to play the A place I would have to take a change of pants because I would probably have a mess after I got to the first tee. I wouold love to caddy like you have just to see how they play this game we call golf.

Call CCC if you can sometime. I spent about 30 minutes on the phone with Jim Russano and this man was very informitive. I was thinking of sending either my Laguna 2PP or my Newport 2.5 SS in and he educated me. Give him a call. As members of the forum we also get a better price!
  16. You aren't the only one that fights a draw . But for me it doesn't happen on every shot :? And that has really got me confused . I also have never been able to hit a proper fade , only thing I can do so hit a push cut so I don't even try anymore . I figure since I play to a low single digit playing what I have I might as well stick with it and not try and change my swing again cause all it ends up doing is driving me crazy :) And I play like crap :( Mike I think we were seperated at birth. You could not describe my situation any better. I am just coming up and out of it right now but like I said after about 175 balls I think I have dug my swing out of the dirt. I don't think it helps taking swings in the yard and not wanting to take a divot but sometimes you can't help but go out and swing when you can't make it to the range. Chainsaw thanks for adding to this...I am going to cut my clubs down. It is a good thing my best friend has a brand new compound mitre saw. Save a few bucks. Well one never know's do they . I read somewher else that you are also a F1 fan correct ? I am as well . Was at the very first Canadian GP way back in the 60's . Now be nice and don't ask the question you want to . Down with Tofosi from me  Go whoever :!: :!: . I would love to go the US GP sometime. If Minardi could beat the prancing horse I would root for them. I can't stand Ferrari (mainly their team orders). I hate it JPM is leaving Williams...I think he is one of the stars of the future not Ralf. Did you see the trading paint last year where Jeff Gordon and JPM switched rides? I thought that was great...I would love to see what Tony Stewart could do in a Formula 1 car. I used to be a NASCAR fan when I was younger...partly because my grandfather owned two cars that ran the circuit in the early 60's and my family was into it but after Davey Allison got killed I lost interest. Nascar is rigged from the standpoint the manufacturers dictate finishing...my grandfather ran pontiacs and he was told that if certain Pontiac drivers from the time were still competitive he was not to finish ahead of them if he wanted to continue to recieve their support but I still love watching the Bristol race. nothing better than watching them go 125 mph in a cereal bowl but I am very happy the F1 season has begun.

  18. I think it creeped in when I was at myrtle beach in the wind and was trying to hit a low slinging hook. I used to hit that shot a lot but after I have worked on the swing and tried to get it on better plane it made the ball flight higher and less curve. When it gets cold and windy this creps in. I am just glad I got to hit today and it went good. I then come home and dumbas me I forgot to activate a player in the first group for the first round of Doral. What a week.
  19. Well Mike after 175 golf balls at the range today...it is 75 here today I finally got my swqing back on plane and that sweet click sound of a forged club hitting a ball came back. They felt great but if you look at the face afterwards everything was on the heel side of the sweetspot. I could not swing any better and i was still catching the heel. I am so glad I read your post b/4 i went because I started off hitting it like s**t and then I thought of your post and I forced my hands up and it helped. The low hand/flat swing gets me stuck behind the ball and it sucks when it creeps back in. Now my back is screaming for ice but I wanted to ingrain the swing so I just kept hitting...I will pay for this tomorrow.
  20. "For me AK , being 6'2" and having gator arm's I need the extra length just to get comfertable over the ball . Then I have a flat swing on top of that , so it kind of balance's it out in the end . Example +1/2" = 1* upright , clubs are bent 2* flat . So in the end they are basically 1* flat . At least that's how it has been explained to me . :) If my clubs are to upright , my swing starts to change to a more upright swing and then I start hitting Chinese hooks . Due to the fact I bring it back too far on the inside which cause's me to bring it back down even further from the inside . Causing a real big inside to out swing . Then no one is safe standing to my right :) Or I just end up topping the ball." This is me also Mike. I am 6'2 and I also fight having to flat of a swing that goes to far inside to out. Like you said when it gets bad I don't want anybody to my right. All of the wear on my clubface is on the heel side and I fell a little flatter and shorter will help with this. We will see...I have been known to tinker with the equipment a bit. We will see how things go.
  21. I am also 6'2 but my swing has changed over time and I feel my clubs need to go to down a half of an inch and need to be a degree flatter with the swing change and posture change. Damn this has taken too long...I have been working on this nearly a year and sometimes I see improvement and then I have a down month. Oh well...I do see some lessons in the coming weeks.,...something just feels off and I can't figure it out and my wife who knows my swing enough can usually spot problems can't see it either.
  22. Just thought I would let you guys know that I typed out my course reviews. Mike, I am also going to shorten my clubs because I am still hitting on the heel side of the sweetspot...lets just put it this way if I was any closer to the hosel I would be hitting el hosel rockets. I am going to go to a half inch long instead of a full inch. Still am undecided on the three wood....have no confidence in either the vsteel or rescue so a decision to come....I wish I could find someone to flatten the rescue because I feel it is too upright but no one will do it. The baby bee is gone soon...will more than likely sell here or ebay if I do decide to part ways...never can tell...I may keep it like all the other putters I no longer use. I am going to contact my pro and some lessons are coming. Lost a lot of confidence at the beach but I think it was due to lack of concentration. The weather was beautiful though and the courses were fantastic...cannot go wrong with them. If you do go make sure you go to Alligator Adventures and see the 20 foot long croc named Utan.
  23. Orange Crush Stoli Ohranj, Triple Sec, sweet and sour, orange juice and a splash of Sprite. I think this is basically the same drink. I would love to have the recipie. I am looking but alas no luck yet. Guess I will just have to resort to trial and error. WOO HOO!
  24. I have edited my original post so make sure you go back and read it...reviewed the Tour Trailer experience. The Florida-tini has the following ingredients...Stoli Ohranj Vodka, Mandarin orange, and a splash of sprite and sour mix...( I think some Mandarin Juice in it also). I like screwdrivers so I thought I would try this and it was great. Not a screw driver but along the same line. The sprite and sour mix really give it a good flavor. I will be attempting to make some of these thisweekend. Could be a long and great taste testing.
  25. I'm back. Myrtle beach the past couple of days was great. The weather was beautiful...especially Monday and Tuesday. The wife and I had a great time and I enjoyed the golf. I will be posting a full review of the Dye and Fazio courses at Barefoot Landing tomorrow. I am too tired tonight after driving the 390 mile drive in about 5 hours and 45 minutes. Let me also say that if you have or vacation anywhere with a bonefish grill go there and eat. The grouper was great and I also found a new Martini that I like called the Florida-tini. If I would have only been home to manage my Fantasy golf I could have be giving Pete some competition. Also I will review the golf tour trailer experience I had...it was a positive one. I went to the fitting to see if my suspicions were right and they were I am cutting my irons down a half inch and maybe flattening the a degree. Did not get to hit the mizunos but that was all right. I did get to use the vector launch monitor with my driver but b/4 I could hit it the guy ( can't remember his name but a great guy) took a peek at the driver and noticed it was tour issue as well as the rescue and my numbers were perfect. Ball RPM's in the mid 2000 range ball...it said I hit it 283 on the first lick with the launch monitor. All I can say is that I want a vector launch monitor...no flash...that thing was great. The club prices were a little higher than I had hoped through tour trailer but that is okay...I am not sure if I am getting the Mizunos...need to tinker more with the 300s. Overall I would grade the experience as positive. I really liked getting on the launch monitor and also seeing where I was with my clubs after some work done on them over the winter. All for now....more to come.
