Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearDamnit I pick Daly again for this week but do not activate him and what do you think...he is three under. I am kicking myself...may activate him for the second round but my other choices are steady. Oh well hope everyone is having a good night.

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearHadn't really thought of the Rac MB irons but you are right they would probably make a good mix. I would keep my 300 2 iron no matter what set I have. I love that club. I also want to get my Scotty newport 2.5 refinished and I want the offset gone maybe the slit in the sole also would be nice. I might look into the RAC mb's thanks for the reminder they are an option. But like you said why do that to the scotty when the Monza was all I have used for every round except one since early last june.

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearI'll keep both but I have always wanted blades so I might look into them into the future. The guy that does all my club work sales the KZG irons and I have also considered them. He let me take a blade three iron two years ago shafted with a ust tour weight graphite shaft and I was killing it. What a fantastic feel but I still needed a cavity back (or so I thought). I was thinking of doing the combo set in the kzg maybe. the reason I shifted toward the 680 is that I have read a lot on the web that they are better for sweepers and that is me. I have always picked the ball with a small divot. We will see what happens but if the baby bee does not step it up soon it will be off to a new home where it can be more productive. I still like the monza a lot.

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearWell I am real close to selling both. I know I can get most if not all back out of the betti but I will take a little hurting on the rescue. Oh well. I talked to Mike earlier about some 690's but I think I am leaning more towards the 680. I have heard the 690 has a higher ball flight and the 680 lower and I lets just put it this way I have to call NASA for permission to launch before I hit an iron shot and I would like to bring it down. I have always wanted a set of blades but after today i think I need some Callaway Big Bertha Irons...I know it was just the clothes and cold weather but it is discouraging.

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearWell s**t here I go again. I went to the range today and hit my vsteel three wood and was nutting it and was not hitting the rescue very good. Then to beat all I went to the putting green and had the betti and the monza both and the monza felt great. I hate this. I guess I just need to figure out which ones I want to keep and get rid of the others to resist the temptation of switching them in and out. I know this has nothing to do with anything but he thats what this is for. I need better weather for more practice....this winter is getting old real quick.

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearMy swing plane was a little flat and my hands have always been quick but all in all I think it was my lie angles. Got them bent a little flatter and now the irons are better but when i get flat I start hooking the ball. Still working on a swing change from last year and it is hard to be consistent when you only get to play once every three weeks. I shot everything from a 74 to a 98 last year during this. Lets just say I am streaky.

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearGood idea on waiting Pete...my wife and I dated for 6 years (4 in college and then 2 when she lived in Columbus OH and me here inTN) before we got married. I told her I lived through one divorce (my parents) and did not want to go through another. My parents are down our back all the time about grandkids. It doesn't help they live about a 5 iron away. That would be a 3 for you pete :D

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearI know how you feel Mike...right now my game is not good enough for blades but when I get to swing a club more often than once every three weeks it can get in the groove (I'll think about the 690's...if you do decide to let them go let me know). I am hoping some of my recent rounds will get my handicup up so I don't lose my ass too bad when I go to Florida in april. I am at 6.4 index right now. Those guys down there with the 20 caps will kill me. I did play Friday and hit the ball decent but the mind was not into it and the back started hurting so I quit after 15 holes. probably would have shot 80 but had too much s**t on the mind.

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearI am using a regular NV105s wood shaft but tipped. I like the shaft in this club good weight and feel. I just have to remind myself to back it up a little in the stance than a normal 3 wood. If I get to where I can't live without a set of 690mb I will pm you Mike. I think they are beautiful looking blades. Do you like yours? Where in the hell has Pete been? He hasn't chimed in for over 24 hours...we might need to send out a search party. :D

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearThanks Mike I appreciate it. Every once in a while I take the 8813 out for a round. I just like putters. Although I do have my eye on some 690.mb irons. They are sweet! Oh well I will just keep my reliable 300 for the time beign. The wife and I are saving for the house...no more equipment for a while. I'll try to get some pics up of the new items. I have added a 14* tour rescue also with a nv105s so my pics are a little dated.

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearDon't have the Futura...kept it for 2 weeks and unloaded it. Never could line the damn thing up. Between the other two I like the Studio Stainless the best I just wish I could have the hosel of the Laguna 2 on the Newport 2.5 head. I would probably get rid of the Monza and the Baby bee if I got that. This is the pic of my putters minus the baby bee. I wonder if gauge could do something like that. http://www.tourspecgolf.com/modules.php?na...cat=10026&pos=3 The monza is a great putter and I think it will share time in the bag with the baby bee. I really like the look of it and the baby bee. Maybe the Mezza monza would be the perfect blend of the two.

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearThe original Winn grip on my monza, the leather grip on my 8813, the titleist/scotty cameron cord grip on my laguna 2 pro platinum, the Scotty grip on my newport 2.5 Studio Stainless, the baby T on the Futura, the Ping Fingerlock, royal pebble grip, and I know there are more but I seem to gravitat back to the pro only/ping grip that came on my studio stainless. I just cannot bring myself to put a scoty grip on a bettinardi putter. I would like to try the gauge design Ion grip.

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearWell an update on the search for a grip for the putter. I finally broke down and just slapped a golf pride pro only grip on it. It feels pretty good. Just in case you do not know what I am talking about it is like the grip on Scotty Studio Stainless or think of the ping grip that has been used for years. Will have to wait and se how it performs. I am still leaning towards the gripmaster standard putter grip. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearIt is a baby bee. It is silver in color and instead of the hogan sunburst on the face it just has RJB in cursive on the heel side. it also says bettinardi along the back of the putter. Basically the retail version of what Furyk won the open with. Here is a link to a current auction that has pics of what I have: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...5&category=1518 As for the turf I like the idea it has rubber mixed in it for the shock absorb. I talked to them for about 30 minutes today. I also asked about effects on forged irons and she said that she had not heard any complaints. The only complaint she had heard was having to sweep up after you hit off of it. Some people had installed this out side and were having to buy new bags of the crushed rubber and they were not happy with that. But since I am putting this inside on a concrete floor (with extra padding between the mat and concrete) all I would have to do is sweep up. No biggie to me. She was very informative.

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearThanks for asking Mike. I am going to take the Baby Bee out tomorrow or Ssturday for its first round. I love the head and feel but damn that grip is huge. I haven't had time to get it regripped yet but I may do that tomorrow and then play sat. Hell my scotty Newport 2.5 SS is feeling pretty good right now. Damn this putting on the carpet...makes all my putters feel great. I just saw a putter exactly like mine going for about 265 on ebay so I am almost contemplating selling it and using the money for a set of 680's or 690's or a set of 300 NS grind. When we build our house I am getting a mat like the turf used at Lambeau field for the basement and I want a new set of sticks and use my 300 for pratice on the mat. This is the mat I am thinking of getting: http://sportnetting.com/fieldturf.htm Oh crap if I do this I am a ho. I mean selling a putter without really using it. Pete I will gladly buy one of the hats...hell two if I could get a white one and a blue one (if not I would get the black one).

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearMy gap wedge is in need of some serious TLC and I do not want to get rid of it since I got my first hole in one with it so I am going to send it to them when I get the chance...too busy right now with other stuff. I will use TSG refinishing for this.

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearYou know I like the idea of the tourspec refinishing. I just do not feel like they are being shoved down my throat like it is on the other site. If CGC does great work then fine but do not come over to this site and piss on the arrival of some competition and then try to flatter it...saying he respects Joe K and then at the same time say that he charges more. I mean this site is better than this and I do not like someone coming over and trying to bring it down.

My uncle has a pristine 79 trans am. I mean about 30,000 miles completely chromed engine, painted all parts...absolutley perfect paint. It is beautiful. Now all I need to do is see Cannonball Run again and I will be ready for anything.

Alcap26 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearI did not do s**t this weekend. Sat around the house and felt great about it. Watched Deliverance saturday night when I caught it coming on at 1 in the morning. Buried my grandmothers dog and then started watching Smokey and the Bandit 1 last night before falling asleep. It was cold enough to not go play golf but not cold enough to snow. Oh well hopefully this weekend I will get away from the redneck movies...I am allowed to say that (look at my location) and maybe play some golf.
