Best Place to get fitted in Tokyo?
I'm also going to be in Tokyo for the whole of next week. While my wife drags me around the boutiques for most of our time there, I want to reserve one afternoon to check out golf stores. Have been there before but can't exactly remember where I went except for Nikigolf. Any recommendations? I'd really like to shop for Paradiso clothes, cool accessories and maybe balls. Although I don't think I'll buy any clubs, I'd still like to check them out.

Not the Kabuki system. It does have this strap right below the mouth (can sort of see it in the pics) that says "Club Holder" but I have no clue how to use it. I assume it's just for wrapping around the clubs?

Agree 100%...I have other black Mizuno neoprene iron covers but these were taken quickly and I couldn't be bothered...

Mizuno Fan Boy Thread 2007!
Bought myself a 90% new set-up for Christmas Forgive the formatting but this was done (relatively) quickly! Driver: Tourstage 2007 X-Drive 460, 9.5* w/ stock XD-60 stiff 3 Wood: G-Field GFT w/ Diamana M73 stiff (old) 2 iron: Tourstage Airmuscle 18* w/ GD UT-95 stiff (old) 3-PW: Mizuno MP67 w/ Project X 5.5 Wedges: Mizuno R Black 52* and 58* Putter: Gauge Design Pro Series M2+ CS Bag: Mizuno MP bag Driver is working well. Irons were a risk since they're blades but I 'm very happy and playing well with them. The R wedges are good but can't say they're any better than my MP custom wedges. Putter is an old model Gauge Design which I came across in a store - feel is great. The MP bag is beautiful. I'll be getting a Tourstage X FW to try out along with a Mizuno MP FliHi. Otherwise, this bag should last at least 6 months

The TSG Official X-Drive Thread!
I never tried the EPON drivers simply because the looks aren't particularly attractive to me. All I can say is that the the 2007 X Drive is better than any driver TS has ever produced.

The TSG Official X-Drive Thread!
A further 3 rounds with my X460 at the Thai Country Club in Bangkok. Course just hosted the Volvo Masters so rough was thick and greens were rock hard. Didn't score cuz my swing is currently very inconsistent but I'm liking the dirver a lot. You can be versatile with ball flight/tee height no problem. Distance loss on mis**ts isn't bad at all. When you nail it, this driver is long and I love the ball flight. It's definitely staying in the bag and i'll now try a shaft upgrade. Very happy with this purchase and I'd also like to try a 430/P. I had recently also bought the Srixon ZR-600 but the new X Drive is far superior imo. Figure out which set-up is best for you and you can't go wrong with this stick. 460 may still be a little too deep for me so perhaps a 430P would work even better.

The TSG Official X-Drive Thread!
Feel and sound are very similar to the W505 I think (can't recall exactly). Pics that you posted are already great! As stated, launch angle is lower than my W505 9.5* w/ Red Diamana. Carry is very good, roll is hard to say until i play more, and sound is similar to W505 and previous TS drivers. I'm playing again on friday, then next monday, tuesday AND wednesday :tsg_smiley_yes: Will have much more detailed feedback end of next week. Of course I would have preferred an upgrade shaft but those aren't available just yet. Specs on the stock shaft seemed alright so I don't mind playing it for now. However, if I still like the driver after a month or so (I most likely will), then I'll look to upgrade but will most likely pull the Red Diamana from the W505 unless something else strikes my fancy.

The TSG Official X-Drive Thread!
Played one round with my new X-Drive 460, 9.5*, w/ stock XD-60 stiff. First impression is that this driver is extremely forgiving. Wasn't swinging particularly well but the driver never got me into trouble. My natural miss is a high push/fade which can send a ball or two in serious trouble when it appears. However, I hit a couple of drives which I thought might be in danger but the ball just hung and faded only slightly and stayed near the fairway. Also seems to play very true to loft in that this 9.5* has a distinctly lower ball flight than my W505 9.5*. Doubtful it's due to the shaft since my W505 has had both a Silver Diamana 73 and a Red Diamana 73 and the X-Drive goes lower than either. Stock XD-60 feels ok and not too loose. When flushed, the X460 is pretty long as well. At set-up I can't really notice the increase in size over the W505 (460 vs. 430). The X460 has a very deep face and you have to tee it up high for best results. The increased face depth took a little adjusting to and I did hit a couple of thin ones but they carried well and didn't really harm me. So my first impressions are that this X-Drive is a winner from Tourstage. Their drivers are usually more demanding than Srixons or Taylor Mades, imo, but this one is very easy to hit and very forgiving. I will post again after a few more rounds but I'm already thinking of trying a 430 as well. Didier

Inpakuto: Live Pics of new X-Drive 2007
Man that's one deep face. I did order the 460 but would rather have had the 430P. However, I definitely don't want any fade bias. Have never owned a 460cc driver and certainly hope I can hit that thing although it's hard to imagine missing the sweet spot with that head! :tsg_smiley_yes:

I feel so much BETTER as a NON-smoker!!!
taipanli replied to TourSpecGirl's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearWhat if you want to quit but actually really enjoy smoking??? Makes it kinda tough... I have smoked 2 packs a day since I was 18. At that time, I had an accident in an elevator and snapped my tibial plateau clean (the top part of the bone just below the knee). I was an obese youth and weighed 275 lbs. at the time (i'm 5'9"). Had a 5 hour operation and stayed in hospital for 3 weeks during which time I was bored out of my mind. Most of my friends being middle-eastern and smokers, one day I just took one when they visited and tried it out of complete boredom (there was no VCR, DVD or internet back then in 1983). Physiotherapist told me that if I didn't drop a lot of weight during my rehabilitation, I may develop a limp from having to support all that weight on a weak leg. Over a couple of years, I dropped to 165lbs (now 180 :tsg_smiley_yes: ) and psychologically, I attribute part of that to my smoking helping curb hunger. So i've shed almost 100lbs and kept it off for 23 years which to me is a huge achievement. Then with the numerous accounts of how you automatically gain weight when quitting smoking, I'm afraid to even TRY quitting for fear of having to struggle with weight issues again. I'd rather stay a slim smoker than a pudgy non-smoker. Some may say that a little weight is no big deal and that quitting smoking will prolong your life but unless you've been an obese teen, you don't know how torturous that can be. Regardless, I would like to quit but I have a mental block over the potential weight gain. On top of that, I'm half chinese and half french - the two heaviest smoking populations on earth! lol Just as with weight loss, there are NO special cures, remedies or medecines that can help you. It's 100% will-power and you have to make up your mind to quit and not quit for a day and hope it lasts... I'd prolong this post but gotta go out for a smoke :tsg_smilie_whistle:

Japanese Magazine (Alba) ball test
Could you give me the figures for the older XXIO ball? Thanks.

Japanese Magazine (Alba) ball test
The TS V10 is a crap ball, goes nowhere. I play the Srixon Z-URC and like it a lot. As the tests show, it has the distance and the softness I like. Surprising to see the Miz T301 being so long - I had tried a couple of Cs and Ds and thought they were horrible. Could you check on the results of the XXIO and new XXIO DC balls?

Srixon 2006 New Club Releases
All new public releases have been in pros' bags for a while. Don't think the drivers are that similar at all - different head volume, deeper face, square face angle, internal weighting.

Srixon W-606 and I-606 Irons
I have no doubt the driver and irons will perform just as well as any of their previous lines. From 302s to the 505s, all their clubs have been solid. However, I really dislike the lines of the i606 irons - they resemble the i506s currently available in the US. Also on the Srixon topic, those looking for a top-end ball should try the Srixon Z-URC. Much better feel than the Z-UR, longer than the Z-URS, it's the perfect balance between the previous 2. I also like Tourstage X balls but the Srixon win me over because their cover is much more resilient. I assume the Z-URC will eventually make it to the US as I believe it's the ball that Furyk and Webb currently play.

PRO DIVISION FORGED L by G-Field - 370G Head!!!
My older Forged L was sold a while ago. The Pro Div is exactly the same aside from the weights. Will know tomorrow how I feel about the putter. IMHO, the JAT sucks compared to a Del Mar 3.5 or the Forged L - no comparison.

PRO DIVISION FORGED L by G-Field - 370G Head!!!
The JAT is actually more face-balanced and has more mass in the heel than the Del Mar 3.5. The Forged L is very similar to the Del Mar 3.5. I received my number 8/10 and it feels very nice. Won't know whether I really like it or not until my next round - hopefully thursday!
