New Mizuno JPX E600 Forged!
Thanks for the initial review. I am leaning toward puchasing these irons (if the ViQ forges dont come out soon!) and just want to confirm that you cannot see the pocket cavity at address with the 4 iron.

FOURTEEN Fairway Woods
My PRGR M3 Hit Tour 3 Wood is fantastic. I am not a tall person and the 2 degree flatter lie angle helps me keep the left out of play. It is my understanding two much of an upright lie angle for the shorter player causes the ball to go left if you dont compensate with your swing. When I hit the wood pure, the ball goes like no other 3 wood I have ever hit before. Does anyone know if there are other JDM that carry flatter lie angles for woods?

FOURTEEN Fairway Woods
Just noticed in the pro shop PRGR is also 56.5!! Head size on the Fourteen is a little bigger. I dont think you can go wrong with either fairway wood!

FOURTEEN Fairway Woods
now I am curious..I play with the PRGR M3 Tour Profile because of the very fact it is 2 dgree flatter lie angle. However, I cant find anywhere the actual lie angle of the 3 wood. The Fourteen 3 wood says lie angle is 56.5. Anyone know what the lie angle is for the PRGR?

New Mizuno JPX E600 Forged!
With those that have played with this iron (gocchin), can anyone tell me if you can see the pocket cavity at address on the 4 or 5 iron. The pics are hard to visualize whether this happens or not.

TSG BEST OF 2008 CONTEST!
Best JDM Driver in 2008:Has to be the Callaway Legacy Driver. Big improvement over the Hyper ERC, easier to hit and looong. Best JDM Iron of 2008: Never played with them but Mizuno E500s look sweet. stronger lofts mean more yards without telling your friends. If Tourstage doesnt come out with the ViQ Forged soon, I am going with the new Mizuno E600 for next year! Best JDM Wedge of 2008: Always a fan of the Fourteen 2008 MT-28 V3 Forged Wedge. Can't wait to try the new version for next year. Best JDM Shaft of 2008: Has to be Graphite Design TourAD Quattro Tech MD6. Kept my ball flight a lot lower and kept the left out of play for me. Best Course you played on in 2008: Oak Hill in Rochester, NY. As Tiger said, "it is the toughest and fairest golf course I have ever played." That says it all! Best shot you made in 2008: Played in a Nationwide Pro Am with Greg Chalmers. It was a down hill Par 3 with strong gusty wind against you. Chalmers hit a punch to within 10 feet. I did the same but I was with 3 feet of the hole. Got his attention and put a smile on my face for a while! Best Pro player in 2008: Even at 50% capacity and one hand tied behind his back, he still is the man to beat in 2008.

CALLAWAY LEGACY AERO DRIVER
I see Callaway is promoting a new Legacy Aero Driver for a February 2009 release date with the head size being wider. Pictures look great! Since Japanese does not translate well, can anyone (Gocchin??) Give us a synopsis of this Driver. I am interested to see what type of golfer this Driver is geared for and what the characteristics of this driver will be. Since the Legacy line appears to for the better than average golfer, I am assuming the same holds true for this Driver. Any help would be appreciated.

New Mizuno JPX E600 Forged!
Silly question but is there a customer service email on the Japan website that you can email this question and see what the response is or would it be one of these things that you ask 3 different customer service reps and get 3 different answers on where the clubs are produced?

New Mizuno JPX E600 Forged!
Are the JPX forged line made by Endo? When you read the website, it says "Made in China, made in Japan" What is made in China and what is made in Japan?

New Mizuno JPX E600 Forged!
Just noticed a lot of Mizuno new offerings starting next month! The JPX600 series will be replacing the 500 series. Always wanted to try the JPX irons especially now the JPX E600 Forged irons. If I am correct (gocchin?), the 600 forged competes with the new Legacy irons by Callaway along with the ViQ forged irons by Tourstage (still waiting for a new version). So many choices! Will be an exciting winter to figure this out!

Odyssey "Black Series" Putters
For those interested, I asked in an email question the US customer service for Odyssey if the US market will get the new Black Series Putters offered only in Japan. Exact response was the following: In response to your inquiry, at this time Odyssey Golf has no information regarding the possibility of offering our Black Series I #6 putter through our US retailers. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Additionally, Odyssey putters can be custom ordered with 32" shafts. Can never understand the "We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."!!

Odyssey "Black Series" Putters
Can anyone tell me if the new Odyssey "Black Series" Putters that will be released in Japan in Mid November going to be a Japan only product or will they be released in the USA as well. Nothing on the American Website that discusses these new putters. Really like Odyssey "Black Series Insert # 6". Can Gocchin or TourSpecGolfer advise me if they will be available in the proshop? Thanks!

Callaway Japan Legacy Forged Iron for 2009!
Al, Did you get to see what AI Miyazato was playing? I believe she plays with the ViQ Forged but just wondering if you saw anything different or a prototype ViQ Forged she was playing. Sorry to get a little off the topic.

Best Pull Cart?
Just wondering if there is any high end Japanese pull/push/speed carts on the market. All of my friends use the Sun Mountain Speed Cart but I want to be different. Let me know if there is anything on the market that you think may be better. Thanks!

Tourstage X-Blade 2009 Irons Models and Specs
Still no word about ViQ forged irons coming out any time soon??
-
any new Tourstage irons in the works?
Your right. When watching the Women's British open, they did have a quick shot of Ai Miyazato's bag and I did notice she was playing (I think) the 2007 version of the ViQ Forged.

Callaway Legacy Driver
Just got off the course and have played several rounds with the Legacy. In my opinion, the impact "sound" of the Legacy is much more pleasing than Hyper ERC, much less tinny, hollow sound and much more solid feeling when hit dead on. This is my first experience with the MD-6 upgrade shaft. It definitely keeps the ball lower and I definitely get much more roll gaining about 5 extra yards with the Legacy. For me so far, it is a more difficult shaft to control. With my Hyper stock shaft, I could certainly get away with bad shots. I could not go right with that shaft and my misses would hook and left would come into play on a bad day. Just the opposite is happening with MD-6. This shaft will not let you hit it left so my bad shots stay to the right. This shaft forces you to have a good swing. When hit off center, ball still travels with only slight distance loss. Still learning to get use to shaft but it is a shaft for people who want to keep left out of play and wanting lower trajectory. Overall, great club and definitely an improvement over the Hyper ERC!

Callaway Legacy Driver
Just played a quick nine holes with Legacy. Initial impressions are as follows: 1. Definitely more muted sound that Hyper ERC. Does not have the tin, loud, explosion sound that ERC has when striking ball. 2. Face appears to be deeper than ERC, at least it looks a little deeper in my opinion. 3. Head shape a tad longer from face to back of club. 4. Sole (bottom) of club looks just like the ERC. 5. Sticker on the club says it assembled in Japan so it looks like the entire club is made in Japan! (I have seen other clubs that say assembled in China when I thought it was a Japan made club) For me, what makes this club is the MD-6 shaft choice (with the help of gocchin). The MD-6 keeps the ball flight much lower for me than the stock SR shaft I had with the ERC. It took me a few holes to get use to it but definitetly much more piercing. As a result, I have gained a few more yards.

Callaway Legacy Driver
Just received my Callaway Legacy Driver with the upgraded MD-6 Shaft. Will be playing tonight so I will give my initial review and comparison with my Hyper ERC that I have. Question..If you look on the G-One-Golf website for Callaway clubs, it shows a picture of the bottom of the club with a "bore through" hosel (I think thats how you would describe it) yet on the my club and the Callaway Japan sight, it does not show this at the bottom of the club. Have any idea why or do they make two different versions?
