Anyone play these? They are starting to grow on me with the looks similar (i think) to my old Mizuno EZ irons. I know the description says size is medium to small but the picture looks a little oversize so I am wondering what size they compare with. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have always played with forged irons with my bag now consisting of the JPX E600 forged irons. Recently, I hit an American TM Burner cast iron and noticed the impact was not as "soft" as my forged irons but it certainly felt like it came off the club face faster and did notice a slightly "hard" feeling that was actually pleasing. With that being said, I would like to see if anyone can comment on the differences. I really like the new Tourstage X-BLADE GR IRON but am just wondering what to expect with a cast iron. Thanks.
  3. Just curious on the comparison between both models and what type of golfer are they geared for. Never played Taylormade but these clubs intrigue me.
  4. I really like the idea of the higher heel in the back as I really believes it not only helps for a proper posture but also generates more distance because you are actually a little taller. This may sound silly but I have a pair of golf boots that I bought a few years ago that I use in the spring when my course is wet. The boot has a 2 inch heel, Its about a half size too big on me. I have 1.5 inch "lifts" that I put into the shoe which makes the golf shoe fit me perfectly. I am only 5'6 but with the heel and lifts that make me about 5'9, I feel I have much better control, posture, and distance with the extra height!
  5. I have played with Tourstage, Fourteen, PRGR, Callaway and Mizuno. All are great products. Once I play with Yamaha (V201 Driver), and Taylormade (Burner forged irons) I will let you know!! It is a very expensive hobby we all have!

begs the question...What are the high kick point shafts on the market and how is the stock shaft for Yamaha? I always wanted to try the Yamaha but I have always played with 8.5 loft and Yamaha starts at 9 degrees. I assume with the right shaft, it would not make a difference...

My assumption is that "low launching" means a lower trajectory. If that is correct, I am interested to see (without getting into shaft issues) what are the low launching drivers on the market. It seems that the the new Legacy Tour Drivers and the Tourstage X drive 701 Drivers fit within this category. However, it appears these are fade biased drivers. I am interested to see if there are more neutral performance drivers on the market having low trajectories.
  8. Just wondering how these compare in terms of "game improvement irons" with the old ViQ forged irons or even the JPX E 600 forged irons. Gocchin?
  9. Cannot find a lot of information about the new stock shafts for this driver. Does anyone have information about the characteristics and performance of the Tour AD B10-01W and Tour AD DI-6? Any information would be great. Also, some people are saying this driver looks like a Callaway. Has anyone seen this driver live yet and can confirm? Thanks.
  10. I have always played with forged irons (JPX) and find at impact, the feel is absolutly wonderful. However, I recently was on the range and I hit my friends US Taylor Made Burner cast irons (I think they were cast). Althought the feeling was somewhat on the "harder" side, it did have a much better "zip" feeling when hit. In otherwords, it felt like the ball rocketed off the club at impact. Is that the case on cast iron clubs or is this just the product line for Taylor Made irons. Would I get the same feeling with the new JDM Taylor Made forged Burner irons?
  11. I had for many years the Bridgstone J's Professional Weapon. Is this the same club? It was my first experience with JDM. Used it for many years. I remember it kept the ball lower with much more roll than any other club I had. Then went to the Callaway Driver. Have no idea why! Still have the J in my basement if anyone is interested....

That would be great. The only challenge would be sizes. I have heard it is difficult to relate Japan sizes to US sizes?
  13. I am traveling to SanFrancisco next month and will be staying near Japan Town. I have heard this is a great area. Just wondering if anyone has been around the area and aware of any shops that carry Japan Domestic Equipment or golf apparel.
  14. I have a set of the Tourstage ViQ forged irons 4-through pitching wedge from 2006. Still in very good shape. Have not had time to put them on the BST page yet. If interested, please PM me. Thanks.

It's always fun to get reaction from local reps when you show them something they have never seen nor get from the company they work for. The place where I play golf had a Mizuno demo day yesterday. Since I am now playing the JPX E600 forged irons, I happily went over to the tent to show off my irons. After introducing myself, I showed my 4 and 8 irons. The rep knew about the JPX line and the fact that the japanese market gets so much more than we do and said great, wonderful, etc and then seemed to have no further interest in these clubs (why should he) and went back to his area. After about an hour of hitting balls, the rep came back to me and asked if he could try and hit a few balls with them. After hitting about a dozen balls (rep said he is a 3 handicap and he had a great looking swing), he wanted to know more about these clubs and how I got them. After all said, his impressions were that feel was much better and softer compared to the MX line. I also had to "educate" the mizuno rep as to the SR shaft (Not avaiable in US) and the stronger lofts. The rep finally concluded by saying he wished he could get his hands on these baby!
  16. I use to collect old putters when I was younger. I probably have 7 or 8 Tommy Armour Silver Scot Iron Masters Putters and about 5 Spaulding Cash In Putters as well. I remember when I was in Hawaii in the early 90's, I was in a golf shop where they had a bunch of these putters with the Macgregor's selling anywhere from between $1000 to $1500 each. However, I think if you check ebay now, you are lucky to get a few hundred bucks for these putters. Let me know if anyone wants me to post some picks.
  17. Had a chance to hit about 20 shots with my 5 iron. I have it with the stock NS Pro 950HT in SR (Stiff/Regular shaft) compared to my ViQ Forged NS Pro 950 in R shaft. Initial impressions of Mizuno are softer feel at impact, higher trajectory and distance gain with the stronger lofts.
  18. I just received my JPX E600 Forged irons yesterday. Its always interesting to open up the package and to see how the actual irons compare to images and pictures you see. I typically will not buy anything until I try it but something about JDM equipment lets me ignore my instincts! I use to play with the Mizuno Comp EZ irons and liked them. However, I switched to the ViQ Forged 4 years ago and enjoyed playing with them. ViQ are great irons and since no new version has come out, I thought I would go back to Mizuno. I wanted an iron that compared to the ViQ visually so it was a gamble to buy them with only seeing pictures. I am pleased to say the top line is about the same. JPX appears to be a little longer toe to heal and possibly a little taller from bottom to top. I think it has slighlty more offset. However, at address, they look about the same. Very pleasing to the eye. You do see the cavity back at address with the 4 iron but after comparing this to the ViQ 4 iron, I would say you see the back of ViQ as well although it is "hidden" better with the ViQ because it is a solid cavity back if you know what I mean. I initially thought this would not be pleasing to the eye but it is no big deal. Overall, the JPX looks just as good as the ViQ! So far, so good! Snowed last night but should warm up this weekend to play a few holes. Will report back this weekend with my initial review. Stay tuned!
  19. I have the PRGR M3 Hit Tour FW in a 3 and 7. Chris is correct. Best fairway woods I have hit to date!
  20. Were the V3 forged?
  21. I presently play the V3s and just ordered the V4s. Should take about 3 weeks to get them in. I will post my review next month.
  22. With all things being equal, how much distance would one lose if you go with 1/2 inch shorter length shafts. I have been club fitted with 5 iron being 37.25 length at 58.5 degree angle. I do understand that ultimately, my average distance may increase because of consistancy but I am just wondering if there is a measure given for distance loss by going with a shorter shaft length.
  23. I see you went with the JPX line. How do you like them?

I have a Tourstage X-Drive 405. Excellent condition. If interested, PM me. Thanks.
  25. I live in an area that hosts an LPGA event every year and always enjoy looking at how many foreign players are on the tour and play with JDM equipment. Its exciting to see someone play with clubs and a bag from Tourstage. I was just thinking (have too much time on my hand) with what happens to these players if they break a club or a club needs fixing. I never see a Tourstage Tourvan, for example, on site. Anyone have an idea what happens?
