  1. Hey Gocchin, any idea why GDO does not sell PRGR or Epon? I notice when I surf a lot of Japan golf websites selling clubs, these manufactures are not typicalling on them. Great information. Thanks.
  2. can anyone advise me what type of stock shaft is used for the PRGR M3 Hit? The PRGR Website does not give any information on shaft specs other that its available in r, sr or s. Can you get custom shafts?

Anyone have any information or picks of the 2008 ViQ Forged irons. I know they are coming out next March but there has to be some picks somewhere!!
  4. The PRGR M3 Hit looks great. The web site indicates this model is 2 degrees flatter and also has a fade bias. Can anyone advise me what that means? Since I am not that tall, a 2 degree flatter lie angle probably would benefit me but I like to draw the ball so I am not sure if a club having a fade bias would help me out.
  5. Anyone have the RC Pro TP woods? Looks like a lot of custom shaft options. Comments on them?
  6. love the looks of thr PRGR but I go with the 4 and 7 woods and it looks like they do not offer a 4 wood.
  7. Any thoughts on the Srixon Z-Steel. How is the size of head compared to others?
  8. As I sit home and watch all this snow fall in my front yard, cant help but think about next year. Presently have the Callaway Hot fairway woods. Like them but for the large heads. Previously had the steelhead plus which I liked very much. Looking for a smaller head fairway woods that have a similair performance than my Callaway Hot in terms of easy to hit but still able to work the ball. I play to an 8 handicap. Suggestions are welcomed.

I just came back from Southern California from a private opening celebration of a golf school (if anyone is interested in specifics, please pm me and I would be happy to share) in which Callaway sent out their big guns to showcase their line of clubs to attendees and to have one on one consults with tech people to be club fitted. I was very impressed in the devotion these Callaway employees had on discussions about Callaway products and why they truly believe they are the best clubs on the market. The only new club that I saw was the new Hyper X Driver. I hit a few balls with it. I do not know if its on the market yet but I believe it is coming out next month. Club head looks like a sidways U. In my opinion, better looking then the square drivers by Callaway. Sound at impact is muted and not as loud as my Hyper ERC. I believe Callaway will have more shaft options available next year as well. I did meet an individual who was part of a team for product development for Callaway womens line of equipment which Callaway will put more emphasis on in the coming year. Unlike my local Callaway rep who had absolutely no interest when I showed my Hyper ERC, this person was excited to see my driver and called over some of the tech people to show. Some of them requested to hit some balls with it and I gladly obliged. They did state it is extremely hard even for them to get to see Callaway Japan equipment. One even commented to me that, "Japan always gets the good stuff!" Really nothing new to report on the differences between the American vs Japan market (I am always fascinated by this) as the tech people did confirm the heads on Japan only drivers and woods are a"little bit" hotter than the american counterpart with shafts being a little softer compared to the Americam market. I did ask why some equipment like the Hyper ERC is only sold in Japan and not in the US and the response was basically the Japan market is extremely unique and can support the pricing points the market bears over in Japan. Since I am not familiar with the Japan market place, maybe Chris or anyone who is familiar with the Japan market can share some thoughts on why its so unique. Overall, I had great time meeting so many Callaway employees who had so much wealth of information. It was a great experience to test equipment with people who knew what they were talking about!

Hey Gocchin, I think that was my post of this summer. I did play with a local Callaway Rep who really did not know or care about Callaway Japan. I will be curious about these club fitters knowledge and have to assume they would have much more knowledge about product lines especially if they fit Callaway pro's. I will let everyone know.

I am traveling to California next week and am attending a golf event where I have been told Callaway will have club fitters available to demo clubs etc. At first, I thought it was nothing more that another "demo day" but I have been told Callaway will have the same club fitters who do all the club fitting for its pro's who are sponsored by Callaway (I am assuming there is a difference). I will see if I can get any additional information about upcoming products including any JDM equipment. I am curious to see if these club fitters have any knowledge about new callaway products or even Callaway Japan.
  15. Hey Gocchin, Using your best translation skills, can you tell me what Callaway is saying about the Legacy Driver and how it is different than the Hyper ERC? Any help would be great!! Thanks.
  16. Chris, do you think Tourstage will come out with another version of the ViQ Forged Irons or any other products soon?

The ball flight with my ERC Hyper with stock SR flex is very high. Trouble is I am not sure if its too high as the initial ball flight starts off high which I think is ok. It certainly is not ballooning in nature but I think if I can get the ball flight lower, I would hit it longer with more roll(not sure if that is true). Therefore, without the ability to be able to test all different shafts, my question is do you go with a stiffer flex or heavier shaft.

With all thing being equal, does a stiffer flex or heavier shaft make the ball flight lower?

I have been playing with the Titleist Grand Z golf balls for a while and really enjoy them. I was able to purchase these at my local golf retailer like others have done for a while. They seem perfect for my swing. I am interested in purchasing other Japan balls to see how they compare but am turned off with the pricing points for these products. Just curious on other users of Japan golf balls to see whether its worth the price? Are these balls superior in terms of technology compared to the US market or is it what the Japan market will bear for its customers resulting in a higher price for us to purchase them. Thoughts are appreciated!

I just played in a golf invitational tournament held at a local club and was paired with two Callaway Golf Reps. Since I play with an ERC Hyper Driver and X fairway woods, I was intrigued by what they would think and say about my clubs. After our introductions, I showed them my clubs. One rep did not even realize his company produced these clubs and showed little interest in them. I know the reason is $$$$ but I was kind of surprised of the lack of interest in my beauties. The other rep did show some interest, took a good look at the clubs and "authenticated" them by showing me the seriel numbers listed on them. He said that Callaway USA will not ever show these clubs to them. Both reps had little interest in hitting these clubs or asking me questions on how I got them. I find it kind of funny that $$$ appears to be the driving force behind reps and what they show and sell. I am proud to be part of this great web site and know more about clubs than most people!! Thank you TSG!
  22. anyone try these? Opinions?

I assume the MP-57 would be a Japan only product?
  24. Still find it interesting from what I have read that my 9.5 Hyper Driver may actually be 11.5. Would Endo tollerate a 2 degree variance in forged drivers? Also, after 4 months with this driver, the honeymoon still continues!!! Best driver I have ever hit, hands down! Still have my Endo Technity Driver with Axiv shaft for sale if anyone is interested, please pm me.
  25. Tourstage ViQ Forged irons fit into this catagory as well
