SQ Shaft Shootout AXIV!
Great post. There is no "honeymoon" period with me and the Axiv. The thing flat out bombs the ball and feels so smoooooth. Even my regular group has noticed the change - much, much more carry.

Guiren Rife 2 Bar Putters
AA - I have one and it's really fantastic. I have yet to put it into the bag, but it is very confidence inspiring. Honestly, the thing I like best about it is not the weight but the lie align tool that lets you bend the shaft at the hosel to fit your eye at set up. It's like you just started putting with glasses on or something. Set up feels more natural which seems to yield better putts. I'm still toying with it but don't be surprised to see it in the bag soon! SFG P.S. - I have the 2 Bar mallet and solved the impact issue by dropping a BC counterweight into the shaft. Smooth as silk now.

UST Frequency Filtered Putter shaft
A lot had been said about it so a search of the Forums may be in order. I've logged many, many hours with it. My initial impressions stand. http://forum.tourspecgolf.com/index.php?showtopic=19044&hl=frequency

Nice rig.

To the left and it's killing me
When that happens to me, it means I'm going straight back on the takeway (too steep).

Axiv or Diamana Red?
6.4 sounds good for your swing speed. I play the M which kicks a little higher than some M IMO, but I think that's because the Axiv is a true M--as opposed to a M/L. This makes me think the H will kick like the NV or, perhaps, even a little higher.

Axiv or Diamana Red?
'06 is going to be my year of the driver. I've had great success with the 6564 in my r5. However, I would like to try the M73 and the V6 as well. Between the r7 425 and some of the new TourStage products coming, there should have plenty of opps to mix & match.

Ai Miyazato's Swing Images Step by Step!
sfgolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearThat extention at the top is sick! If I had someone holding my hands in that position I couldn't get that vertical. No wonder she hammers the ball with such a small frame.

Ernie Els has got a smooth swing,...lets check it out!
sfgolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearWhat I love is that clearing of the hips. Hard to tell with the black pants but look at where his butt is at impact (as evidenced by the fact you can see the yardage book in his right pocket in picture 9). Totally cleared at impact.

How to hit the ball low
Hard to argue with that. To knock it down (i.e., play in the Bay Area in the winter), I: 1) take one extra club 2) put the ball in the middle/back of my stance 3) swing in control and try not to let my hands go above my waist on the follow through

swing weight
Henry, if you shorten a club by 1/2" the swing weight will decrease by 3 points. However, as always, I’ll be the guy leaning off the other side of the boat :tsg_smilie_whistle: and ask why you care about getting them D0. Generally, people get way too hung up with swing weight IMO. Use the club that feels best, don’t look for a swing weight. SW is a static measurement relating to feel (determined by the aforementioned ratio of weight concentrated in the grip and weight in the head). It’s a static measurement, not an empirical statement of a clubs performance characteristics (i.e., flex, torque, etc.). I can make a fence pole D4 or C2 or whatever you want. Who cares? I’m not saying it’s not important, I’m merely reminding us that the real question is what club feels the best to swing. For the same player, that might be a blade a D6 or a players cavity at C9. Dialing into a swing weight the way one would loft, lie, length, and grind often times seems like putting the cart ahead of the horse. Again, MO.

Puring v.s. FLOing
IMO, it's like a lot of other things - it removes a variable which might build confidence. There have been a number of tests on things like Puring that seem to indicate it does help. One thing I feel very confident of is that spining your shafts will not hurt the shaft's performance (i.e, no down side). Why not remove the variable? If you are a member of this site, I think you already know what I mean. :tsg_smilie_cool:

Puring v.s. FLOing
SST Puring is a patened process (i.e., machine and software) for finding the hard side of the shaft and spine matchign the club against the target line. This Fall, I had some of the clubs I play SST Pured to try it out :tsg_smilie_money3: as I'm a believer intuitively in the "hard side" concept. Having said that, difficult to know what method is most/more effective. I think it comes down, as usual, to who you are workign with - not what. My guys at Bay Golf can feel the hard side of the shaft really, really precisely per the above, and I've loved every thing they've done for me. But, like Joe, they've been doing this for decades and what they can do by feel might require a machine for someone else. Interestingly, I've talked to a lot of people who didn't want their shafts aligned because it would potentially throw off the look of the shaft by not orienting the logo on top

Axiv HELP!
Ari - I have a SS of 105 and went with the 6564M untipped. It's PERFECT if anything, it might play on the softer side.
-
Shafts - Axiv or graphite design ?
+1 is really much better at this than I - but it sounds to me like the Axiv 6564M would be an excellent shaft to try. It's a very easy loading and kicking shaft. In fact, if I had to describe the Axiv in one word I would struggle between choosing LONG or SMOOTH.
