YAMAHA v410 driver head.
Really great driver head here guys - I'm playing it currently and it's got an addictive solid feel and perfect look at address. My brother also has one and loves it.

***** MY new driver builds THREAD ******
Supo, you are a true experimentalist mate. I love it. I mean, we all tinker on this site, but man you TIN-KER! Does the Diamana have a lower balance point than the Crazy? I just put a whole heap of lead tape on my Ryoma and it "woke it up" quite a bit. I enjoy the updates. Thanks in advance Darren

Looking to trade some gear - what have you got to trade for? **SOLD** Mint Ryoma V-Spec 10.5 head (198g, square face + headcover - currently has Accra SE80* shaft in it @45 inches) Epon Technity 3W (GD P9003x, tipped 1/4 inch, VGC) Am pretty good for drivers, but would consider 3w, mint wedge sets, putters or iron sets. Help me find a driver that works as well as my 3 wood :)
These have been around for ages - expensive shafts when they were new. Talks about 80 ton below. Anyhow - am giving the SE80* a run in my Ryoma 10.5 ACCRA SE 80* & 70* When you have created the most advanced shaft using technologies and materials that are at the forefront of design and manufacturing you can't sit still! The all New ACCRA SE 80* & SE 70* are the next generation of one of the Tours most accepted shafts. The SE 80* takes all of the benefits of the SE 80 and transfers them into a shaft designed for those with a slightly more fluid swing, a "bore through" head or a need for a slightly higher trajectory. The SE 70* brings the ACCRA SE technology to an all new lighter weight category. Using the same materials as the SE 80, the SE*'s slightly more active tip section and mid section creates even more power through impact and promotes an extraordinary amount of "feel" for a shaft with such low torque. The SE* series uses the same proprietary 80 ton material to create tensional hoop strength that maintains the "roundness" of the shaft through impact even at the highest swing speeds. If you are looking for the ultimate shaft to create high launching, low spinning launch conditions without sacrificing "feel" and "stability", the SE* series is the shaft for you. Ryoma D1 V
Sounds like you need a 10.5 in the Vspec. The Ryomas go low.....

Help me find a driver that works as well as my 3 wood :)
I have a Ryoma 10.5 with FEX Proto 75s. Has been a real fairway finder, does not launch too high but I am finding it spins a tad too much into the wind and I can overpower it if I have been playing a lot. Antz this thing is probably perfect for you - shame you aren't in Brisbane you could give it a try! Forgot I had a 79g ACCRA SE80* (M5 flex) in an old Titleist D2 driver. This thing has 1.6* torque, but tip was made for bore-thru heads so it doesn't play like a barge pole. Really nice feeling shaft for an oldie. They claim it has 80T carbon too! I am going to give this a try to see if I can maintain the launch angle but knock down the spin - in "theory" it should be perfect........

Advice on Ryoma reshaft.....
Thanks for the sage advice! - I have a P9003x and an AXIV V series shaft lying about - I know both will drop the spin down, so I'll see how these frequency out and leave the Crazy in the Yammie (yep it does feel good!) Cheers D

Advice on Ryoma reshaft.....
After a wrist injury earlier this year and a period of too much work, I've been playing a lot more golf lately. Pretty sure my driver swing speed is increasing and unfortunately the Ryoma/ FEX Proto 75s is starting to feel a bit soft now and flight looks too spinny.... I have an old original Crazy Red 80 7.4 in a Yamaha 410V head which is at the limits of what I can prevent "leaking right" (in that setup)......but boy does it keep spin down and fly/runout well. From what I understand, the shaft insertion depth in the Ryoma is quite shallow (ie tip of the shaft finishes further from the ground??), so you can play a stiffer shaft than you might be able to play in say a typical Yamaha driver head - is this correct? I am tempted to give the Crazy shaft a go in the Ryoma, but don't want to go but-trimming such a good shaft if it's not going to work!! Any prior learnings y'all could share would be appreciated Thanks D

Expensive shafts in cold(ish) weather.
OK - so now you're gonna show me a photograph of a shattered Crazy - right??? Thin tip walls in these does mean you've gotta be careful - esp. with the hosel junction.......BUT I maintain there won't be much difference in the fracture toughness at zero compared to "normal" temps.

Expensive shafts in cold(ish) weather.
Carbon composites operate in planes up in sub zero....... At the other end of the spectrum - if you leave your clubs in your car on a very hot day the adhesives holding heads and grips on can degrade. I've had heads and ferrules come loose after high temp exposure.

You are well, well below the "glass transition temperature" of the epoxy matrix (on either a hot or a cold day), so can only see problems with stiff joints and muscles at low temps. Now the golf ball has a polybutadiene rubber core, and the resilience of that IS affected by temperature!!!

new Epon irons.... RF-551
Hmmmmmm, Epon personals in this finish.......is that possible?

new Epon irons.... RF-551
WOW! I like that a lot.
-
name your top 5 iron makers in order
Here are my 5 fwiw: PRGR (most underrated forged irons on the planet, great design for "diggers") ONOFF Epon Tourstage Mizuno (nothing wrong with Mizzys) Plenty more out there I've yet to try - Romaros look the goods!

RomaRo Ray UT
Nope haven't tried those, but I bet thay are good based on my driver performance with the FEX Proto!!!. Diamana thump were the others I think sound good (I need to keep flight down). My favourite (and best performing) shafts are the Project X satins......but my left wrist just gives up if I play with them too much (unless on lush soft turf).
