Here's a few... Mizuno, Gauge, TourStage, Srixon, Hiro Matsumoto and I know I'm leaving some out...

If you want an R7, then follow their advise. I'd go with more loft rather than less.

Project X for me. Can't use them though. Brutal.
  4. My .02 is that you don't need larger iron heads for forgiveness. I've found that the smaller, thinner top line heads like the Mizuno's or the Tourstage Z's are as forgiving and easy to hit as the Pings or Cally's. You just need to adjust a little. Well worth it in the long run. No more shovels as you look down at your ball.

Sam, keep an eye on the Buy/Sell/Trade Forum here. There's usually one in there.

No selection on tip firmness. See the Aldila website for all specs on all their shafts and weight. http://www.aldila.com - Take a look at the NVS shaft as well. Personally, The NV's don't fit my swing... I swing pretty smooth and I don't load them well. They feel very boardy to me. Although I haven't tried the NVS or the very light NV's. I prefer either the Graphite Designs or Fujikura's.
  7. The 757 has a softer tip and maybe that helps you.
  8. http://www.gd-inc.co.jp/ It's a 2.2 Torque. That won't help you at all in closing the face. You can see all the specs on the Japan GD shafts at that link.

Right, Hi Fred! click on the post mode. Then hit the Img button, then add the complete path to the image. Like http://www.jsuhy.com/imagename.jpg and then hit the Img button again to close it. You will then have the proper html code to post the image. Hope this helps, Jim

Two things... You might want to reduce the size of your Avatar :-D and here's another thing... A Clubmakers report on the Differences between Rifle and Dynamic Gold Rifles are frequency (flex) sorted and Dynamic Gold's are weight sorted (Project X shafts are frequency sorted and a constant weight throughout the set. The PW is a shorter shaft but it weighs the same as the 3 iron shaft). His personal experience with all 3 (and some disagree) is that Rifles hit the ball higher than DG's. The rifle is a better shock absorber (not always a good thing), the sensicore is a plastic straw with a thin strip of foam wrapped around it like a barber shop pole. The sensicore does affect the shafts consistency. When you buy a set of rifle shafts you get a much more consistent set in both flex and weight. When you buy 8-10 DG's, you'll get a range of flexes. He bought 14 DG-S300 shafts a couple of weeks back just to get 8 that were the exact same flex. If you've got a good clubbuilder in your area, you can get the desired results with either shaft. It just takes a little more work with True Temper.

I have to say, there are so many killer Hybrids out there, why lock yourself into Clevelands?
  13. FAQ replied to easyyy's post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
A little thicker than the Z's but not a problem. Not as thick as the TourStage 202's.
  14. FAQ replied to HipCheck's post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I don't agree with this at all. This hasn't been my experience. IMHO

Best clubs I've ever played. I've been through many sets of irons too. Actually the offset is very minimal. It's less than the Gauge and about equal to the Z101's or other TourStage.
  16. That is really progressive Offset. Progressive can be defined in a variety of ways. :smile1:
  17. Here's are definitions from http://www.swingweight.com. Also, I should add that the Mizuno MP27's do not inverse their offset at all. I'm not sure where this is coming from, but they are traditional in their use of Minimal Offset. ____________________________________________________ Progressive Face technology: Generic term applied to any club face of varying thickness Progressive Flexibility: A shafting concept in which longer irons are fitted with more flexible shafts to promote feel and aid in getting the ball airborne and shorter irons utilize stiffer shafts for added control. Progressive Offset: Iron head design feature in which longer irons have more offset and shorter irons have less. The offset progresses in somewhat uniform increments through the set. More offset is featured in long irons as offset tends to eliminate slicing and helps to get the ball airborne, qualities that help most players hit the ball straighter. Progressive Torque: A set of shafts which exhibit a changing of torque from one shaft to another through the set. Typically the torque will be greater in the longer irons and less in the shorter shafts.

You might be thinking about the Gauge CB's. The 27's have minimal offset in the traditional (progressive) way. Look at the picture at the top of this thread. Concentrate on the 4, 6, and 9 irons, since they have the best view. Am I hallucinating or a victim of parallax? The lower irons appear to have less offset than the higher numbered irons. TSG; Can you shed any light on this? Thanks Congrats on your 100th post. They aren't built like that. It must be the acid. I agree that it's hard to see with photos

No college affiliation here! It's probably a combination of my cheap camera and the custom nickel satin finish.

I have three of them that I had reshafted and it's not a problem. Just tell the guy to use low heat which he should do anyway. I can't tell you if it's foamed or not, but it presented no problem at all.
