It's a hard call as this is an all new shaft from ONOFF and they are touting it as a very high quality quadaxial multi ply shaft what is supposedly very stable and possesses minimal energy loss. As it hasn't even come out yet, its going to be a little hard to judge, but I don't see anything wrong with trying it first then upgrading after if it's not to your liking... stock shafts are getting better and better.

xxio is right S25C is technically the same as 1025 Steel.

I have graphite in 6 of the wedges I own right now. All 75g Graphite Design Tour AD and Axiv 758M, I love the it because I think the graphite certainly enhances the feel and especially since they are a progression of the graphite in my irons. It wouldn't have made sense for me to go from 65g iron shafts to 100g wedges shafts which would have made my wedges 60g heavier than my short irons... I am a digger as well and I feel if my shafts were heavier I'd come down even more because of the weight.

So many amazing wedges out there.... I am still wanting to try the MTI wedges Here are my best of for this year Best Easy Wedge to use: Fourteen MT-28 J-Spec - larger than most, still a good feel and still good looking at address, does everything well Epon Copper X Mode - No frills grind but very versatile and also great at address Most forgiving grind (for me - I'm a digger): Tour Seida: Just gets under the ball while minimizing digging XXIO 45 Wedge: This wedge does not dig... just slides along the any lie Best Compact Wedge: Sky Dream Jump D-Tour/Royal Collection 6150TG: Even as a mid handicapper this tour level wedge with micro milled face and compact size with an M grind is virtually unbeatable Best Spinning Wedge: Sky Dream Jump D-Tour/Royal Collection 6150TG: Half swing to full swing, even after a seasons use, it destroys balls but stops then dead on the greens Epon Technity Wedge - Crazy Spin Yururi Raw - Another Ball destroyer Epon AF Wedge - Near right angle grooves just spin the ball like mad Best Looks: Epon Copper X Grind Studio Prototype Sky Dream Jump D-Tour/Royal Collection 6150TG All of the above have great shape, setup wondefully and just look plain rocking!! Best all around: Epon Copper X Model Grind Studio Prototype Sky Dream Jump D-Tour/Royal Collection 6150TG The above do everything well and are very very versatile, chipping, approach, sand.... you name it! I'm really wanting to put the MTI wedges through it's paces... I may have to get some now that Chris has been raving about them.

Not only that but almost ALL japanese brands golf or not are use the english alphabet. Japanese katakana too is essentially their attempt at sounding out the english alphabet. Very common indeed! (^_^)

epon460 vs. fourteen jc707 : how am I supposed to choose?
gocchin replied to EdChoi's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Oh sorry Ed when you said old and new I automatically assumed the EMB (^_^). Yes the new and old as AJ said are exactly the same except for graphics. It was rebranded for the global market. If you do want feel the the Epon 460 is tops. However you said you miss towards the heel, interesting enough, that usually calls for a more shallow, longer heel to toe MOI type driver which minimizes distance loss and spin on off center hits towards the heel and toe as CG is spread out deeper and flatter. -
Swing Speed Conversion - 2.24 is the majic number

Thanks for posting B! That's the magic number I always use too! (^_^) -
2008 Black TourStage 445cc Driver w/ PICS!
gocchin replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
D, maybe it was just the one you saw? The 445cc is supposed to be square according to TS. -
Yes the V90 is for the ViQ series only and is in use by Ai-Chan. It has a slightly firmer feel and lower ball flight than the 950GH.
-
We have to remember they do look nice but their purpose is to serve the pros they sponsor... they are mobile for good reason, to perform on the spot service like repairs and tweaks for their players and yeah it has to be quick, they can't tell their player, "it'll be ready in 5 days" it's more like 5 minutes! (^_^)

epon460 vs. fourteen jc707 : how am I supposed to choose?
gocchin replied to EdChoi's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
There are quite a few threads on the new Epon EMB driver and as they all state, they look nothing alike as their designs are very different. The EMB is quite a bit shallower and longer heel to toe and is a high MOI driver and looks that way. The 460 is traditional shaped and deep faced. The EMB will be very forgiving and straight. Also not to worry about the torque numbers for the ali'islei, they are higher but the technology is better and they are getting very good feedback in Japan for performance. Ed, what exactly are you looking for in a driver. What's your handicap and swing speed? -
The only difference is 1 degree stonger loft as far as I can see.

NeW TourStage X-Blade Cavity Back Irons XCB 2008 w/PICS!
gocchin replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
There are no tungsten inserts in these irons but CG is placed really low instead to promote higher ball flight. Quite an increase in MOI over the 06' model according to TS, not that we could tell the difference! These may have slightly higher ball flight than the epons but a lot will depend on shaft choice as you know. Chris can probably confirm shot trajectory. -

I pay through my nose in taxes... 35-40% of my income, nearly $6000 a year in property taxes... 14% retail tax on all purchases... and I get raped on any out of Canada shipments that come in... I had three golf shirts arrive from Japan today... value of $100 Canadian total for all three. Was hit with Duty 18% = $18.00 GST: $7.08 PST: $9.44 Handling Fee: $8.00 for a total of 42.52 or 42.52% The other day I had a golf headcover arrive that canada customs converted to $20.32 CAD. Duty: 1.42 GST: 1.22 PST: 1.63 Handling fee: 8.00 Total 12.27 = 60% I am calling tomorrow to bitch about the 18% duty on my golf shirts (clearly declared as golf shirts)... talk about excessive. Sorry had to vent cause I'm pissed.

NeW TourStage X-Blade Cavity Back Irons XCB 2008 w/PICS!
gocchin replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
According to Tourstage Bat, the magnesium is mostly for feel, impact absorption and soft feel on contact. I think it's a nice looking iron, satin would be pretty! -
I just got a batch of magazines from Japan and several pros are playing this exact wedge (with custom grinds of course) and guess what, the paint fill is removed....
-
That looks so much better without the paintfill... I could get used to that especially if it performs like you say!

NeW TourStage X-Blade Cavity Back Irons XCB 2008 w/PICS!
gocchin replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
It's definitely for a specific crowd... low handicappers and great iron strikers... the compact size and minimal offset is definitely something certain players will like... like AJ or B (Blader-X).... (^_^) -
2008 Black TourStage 445cc Driver w/ PICS!
gocchin replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
We have to remember that the profile of this shaft is for the hard swinger with a quicker more aggressive release. I bet C, you'd do better with an SR as what you were hitting was the stiff, good up to 110mph -
Yeah it's not quite as red when outdoors and really standing above it. Bat does that mean you're getting one? (^_^)
-
So the X-Drive is getting rave reviews everywhere.... and it's not as red as I expected in real light. I know chris has one and should be posting some awesome pics here soon but in the mean time here are more pics off the web.
