In this case it's a monster beetle and I have no problems swinging a mosnter that goes straight and long...

With my bad shot being right as well I know I want an EMB!!! Shallow face with the soft epon feel... and straight and long? Besides the looks which I'm still getting used to it's like the driver of my dreams!

Fourteen's New Irons TC 550 & TC 1000 w/PICS!
gocchin replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Chris told me today that he's been focusing on testing these irons (which is why he hasn't hit the EMB yet). He said that they simply perform amazing... perhaps not the most workable irons but in feel and performance, soft and straight as he put it... I can live with that. (^_^) -
I'd have to guess that the feel would be close to the Zodia's... I doubt they would be Fourteen soft as Fourteens are always exceptionally soft which is why they are at a premium... one has to remember... even forgings of the same type of steel are done at different quality levels based on the budgets of those requesting the heads. I would expect still quality heads with good feel but not premium forged levels like Epon, Tourstage or Fourteen as reflected in the price.

This is very strange indeed as I inspected all my Tour Ad shafts which is like more than 10 pieces... they all still look good after a summer of use. Also this attitude you were getting from GD, is this GD USA?

I know Chris is swamped and hasn't had much time to hit the EMB yet. Perhaps sarintr or Spoon can provide more info on feel and trajectory?

The Titleist J-bags are definitely very popular, people are excited about this Ping because as far as I know it's their first Japan only model bag.... decided on after the popularity of the Rapture-J's
-
I've checked around and as far as I can see the price is based on color options and limited availability only... I don't see anything that stands out spec wise from the standard Tour AD 65-95 models.

In Japan they rarely use the term "Cart" bag.... Almost all bags are pretty much cart/caddy bags as everybody rides in Japan. Also the higher tech larger carts they use can all accomodate even pro sized caddy bags which is why they don't really distinguish cart bags regularly though some models may be named that way. The way bags mount in Japan on carts is on a close to 45* angle with the opening facing back and out so all clubs are easily accessible no matter what the design of the bag.

It's hard to say what level MOI in an IRON is considered forging as for irons there are so many factors that affect forgiveness including sole, offset, materials... That said 2350 I'd say is average, the AF-301 is 2115. The AF-501 is 2437 and the AF-701 is 2399. As you can see the 501's actually have higher MOI than the 701's but the 701's are slightly larger and more forgiving overall.

So that means you not only need to have a J-spec putter but it also means you need to overhaul that entire bag my friend!

Gosh G, you've been a member here far longer than me!

Unfortunately that's the only pic that Ping supplied us with but let me see if I can dig up some more.

Sorry LC, just noticed you wanted me to translate: "Order from a candian customer! A repeat customer! This SUS303 is very cool, the shaft is a Frequency filtered shaft, grip is Iomic Mid White, vertical milling lines and stampings were done with no paintfill and a sus303 glass bead blast with a bit of pearl like white (custom beads boron).... it's a whole white theme with a black logo... very sharp looking... NICE! This time with the FF shaft, the head weight is 350g along with the tungsten inserts it becomes 370g. The FF shaft is very cool isn't it? The shaft is usually more suited I think for the mid length putter not usually for shorter putters. The headweight is a little heavier so if possible a cartridge should be added to balance. Like a car's rim you could make it as one piece but a two piece design increases the design quality which is what makes the FF shaft very cool. Unfortunately the carbon section of the FF shaft is very light and thin which makes it difficult to balance for short putters. For a test, I'm thinking of using this shaft for shorter putters but replacing the carbon portion with aluminum."

If that's the case gju, you better double check as I'm assuming most steel shafted lower handicap models are usually taper... Chris would know for sure....

I have two sets of Tour AD iron shafts here and 3 Tour AD driver shafts... they are doing okay still though. BigBen what is the issue exactly with the shafts, is the paint rubbing off or chipping off. Can you take a picture for me? As for the Drev, they are still considered great shafts and will be officially added to our pro shop soon. Still very much on the high end and for the better player/harder swinger (most of the shafts but not all), wonderful finish and very tight.

The insert is a soft SUS303 but it's not just the material but the way Sasaya-san mills and grooves the insert that provides the soft feel. He took the design of the PZ insert and perfected it!! LC, I envy you... for being stuck in this situation... many of us can only dream of having two such awesome putters to be stuck between!

Should be Taper tip 0.355"
-
G, but LC is up on me man, he has Gold's Factory putters... I still don't have mine! If anyone needs design forms, please PM me and I can send you templates for making your golds design.
-
According to Sasaya-san with the tungsten and face insert, it's close to 370g, nice and heavy!
-
C, I am in the same boat as you. I even have two different Gold's putters designed already, I just haven't pulled the trigger. LC, what are the specs on your new putter? Headweight? Length? FF shaft?
-
LC, those look amazing! You need a little putting green in your office or at home.... trust me it's fun. Have you tapped any balls yet with the insert?

Gauge Design Putter Experts : What putter is this?
gocchin replied to wmclarenf1's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I was never a fan of the Vol series and there are not that many floating around as they were not too popular. I haven't seen many Vol 1 S's mostly Vol 1 L's. I just don't like the awkward shape so much personally. The one in the pics here went for around $42 in an auction. -
Yuko played in the Visa Taiho Masters charity tournament over the weekend. This picture of her escaping a bunker made the Sponichi News site. Gotta give her a thumbs up for fashion!
