YONEX VS400 SE+
Thanks for the info, non conforming makes me think it was Japanese version then or at least outside of the US. Are you able to hit it longer than your Titleist? (^_^)

Square Face Fairway Woods
Epon and G-Field will both have pretty much square faces. The Epon can even be open, I think Blader-X has one 2* open!

YONEX VS400 SE+
Welcome to the forum... did it look like this: http://www.bhmgolf.com/desc.ydev?prod_id=6806 I'm not familiar with that model as a Japanese market one. I think this was an American market release.

For the better ball striker.......which driver?
Oh so you did go for the MP Craft 425 after all. Awesome, let me know how it goes... definite feedback as I mentioned above is that it's for the good ball striker as witnessed by it's tour use for Mizuno staffers. ^^

Switching to Epon
Hi shepard, The lower numbered model Nippons, like the 850 and 950 and even 1050 have much higher ball flight than the 1150 tours, you won't have to worry about ballooning there. Type J's with PX flighted shouldn't be a problem I think. TSG should be able to do that for you. As you see, best thing about Epon is that it is fit the way you like it and want it. The Axiv V is know for tight dispersion, kick for distance and anti-left characteristics. It's ball flight is also lower than that of the regular axiv and roddio. Have you been fit in the fitting threads by Tourspecgirl? An 8072 or Roddio W7WA S flex sounds about right for your swing, but she's the expert for that.

Shaft Questions
Carl your game still sounds pretty good scoring 79-80. So the bad back is affecting your game. Do you find on those days your clubs feel heavier and you off center hits make it hurt more? Are you happy with the ball flight of the 950's? Steel is more economical but some have seen gains in distance with no deterioration of accuracy by moving to lighter graphite.

Shaft Questions
Hi Carl, welcome to the forums. The 750's are around 75-83g depending on flex and which iron. They are very smooth shafts and perform a little on the soft side in comparison to the 950 and DG. Like the 950 you have, it does help get the ball up. Superb feeling iron shaft with great performance. Are you planning on putting these in your MP60's? Have you considered graphite? Some of the Jpsec graphite available performs like steel but at much lighter weights (50, 60, 70g range) and with graphite characteristics (shock absorption, low/mid kick, feel). How fast do you currently swing your driver and what is your 5 iron distance? Flex on your 950's?

JPX E500 vs 2007 VIQ iron
Hi swingit, welcome to the forum! My handicap is actually similar to yours. Bottom line is we all golf for enjoyment and to hopefully get better so investing in a good set of irons that not only suits your current game, but can also take you to another level is always the right way of thinking. In this case, both irons could do the job for you. That said, the ViQ Forged is probably slightly more forgiving than the E500's. Both are forged by Endo and have good feel and playability. Both have pretty strong lofts which are the norm these days for many JDM sets. A lot of how they perform will be based on your shaft selection too. Are you a good irons player? Do you strike the ball well? Either way you could play either of these irons for sure. It may just come down to your personal preference. Good luck!

TourStage V-GT High MOI Driver
So Tourstage finally decides to join the high MOI craze with the 460cc V-GT, which claims to have an MOI of 5450gcm2! Will be available in 9.5 and 10.5 lofts and is an all titanium driver. It's definitely a step away from usual Tourstage design especially in the color choice!!

Equipment Warranty
Hi there, welcome to the forums! TSG stands 100% behind it's products. Thousands of customers and thousands of sales, authenticity has never been an issue even once in the 5+ years TSG has been in business. Everything comes directly from the Japanese manufacturer. In some cases the manufacturer's warrantly is not valid outside of Japan, really depends on the brand. However if something goes wrong or there is an issue with the clubs out of no fault of the owner, TSG will take care of it. (^_^) Hope you have fun here and feel free to ask any questions as there are many helpful JDM enthusiasts here!

The Ultimate Stroke Saver??
I was carrying 13 clubs so I thought I'd give this a try. I've never thought of using my hybrid before (^^). I'll carry it for 18 on Monday but so far it is indeed easy to aim right at the hole with a putter stance.

Gold's Factory Update 08/2007
For those of you considering getting a GF putter from Sasaya-san it can be a daunting task creating your own custom masterpiece. Remember Sasaya can do almost anything. Here are a few examples of his work in the past couple of months, quite a few of these putters were for TSG customers or designed by TSG. When I'm designing Gold's putters I use many of these images for ideas and inspiration. Some may look familiar cause the owners are here on TSG! (7th pic down is Sasaya's new sole logo design)

The J-Spec Way of Riding
As most of you know, most Japanese ride carts when golfing (which is one of the reason why lightweight carry bags are not common). There have been some high tech carts in Japan including 4 person, air conditioned, refrigerated, etc. Now individual carts, which may actually speed up play as each player can ride over to his or her own ball immediately. They include speed readings as well as how much power remains and a balance indicator so that the cart won't start moving until everything, rider included is balanced and stable... not sure about the helmets though... (^_^) These Segway carts are actually available worldwide but of course the Japanese have to roll them out for actual full scale use cause they are high tech. (^_^)

The Ultimate Stroke Saver??
So in my weekly search for new clubs to try. I was looking at the PRGR R35 "Chipper" wedge in the Pro Shop here: http://www.tourspecgolf.com/proshop/p780/P...oduct_info.html It's pretty much a 35 degree wedge built and weighted like a 34" putter at 547g. The concept is simple. You play it like a putter from anywhere around the outside edges of the green. It allows you to use your putting stroke for extra accuracy and create a low 25% carry 75% roll shot right at the pin. I decided to get one to try it out as reviews in Japan say, if any club saves you strokes, this is it. I brought it out to the driving range and hit the practice greens so I could try the club from all different lies and distances. PRGR says it's optimal within a 5 yard zone outside the green. This club is going in the bag. If you are a good putter this is the club for you. From 10 to 15 yards from the hole. This thing was deadly. After getting an understanding of how much much I needed to swing the R35 to get it going a certain distance I actually put a few right in the hole. It worked from rough, fairway, fringe, even sand (as long as the bunker was not deep. The key, control! Even shots that didn't go into the hole often ended up 1 or 2 feet from the hole. This club is a winner... it is impossible to fluff or over hit because of it's heavy controlled weight. Luckily I had a space for it in the bag. (^_^)

Gauge Design Wedge Experts : Quick advice please
Honestly, I'd recommend you get any of the other Gauge wedges, like GASI, GAS SBQT or GASII or even the GFT's. Those are amazing wedges and better developed than the older Type A and B. Or better yet buy Epon or Yuriri and you will never worry about another wedge... (^_^).

Gauge Design Wedge Experts : Quick advice please
Most of the Gauge Wedges use the Caliper logo. The Satin finish and dark hitting area were used for the G-Field GFT wedges but also for the Gauge Type A and Type B wedges. The difference between the A and B were the shape of the head.... apparently the A was a Japanese style shape while the B was more of an American Tear Drop type. Type A: Type B: Face: I'm guessing it is forged. There are some new ones for sale in Japan for around $60-70
