They typically forge their own... but its the first time I have seen with S20C... must ask around...

A lot of people are going to like the 925 driver... it is small compact and pear like the Yonex 380 but with better feel and technology packed into it ie adjustable face angle, lie plus interchangeable weights. Srixon rivals Tourstage as the two biggest brands in Japan but it equipment wise it does not get much demand or respect from outside of Japan.

its the way we are required to list them in the pro shop. the AF models were adjusted for foreign exchange and are actually 20% below MSRP while the RF551 is at full msrp not taking into account the exchange. We will quote with the adjustments in mind when emailed.

there is no "techno" model, the comany's name is Quadra Composite Techno but Quadra for short. The FEX is simply the standard model. Steve I think you might find the original FEX a bit soft and opt for the Proto or WBQ. The WBQ has had a lot of design changes compared to the other two models, such as a new weave pattern to reinforce stability and the metal fiber tip section. The balance of the shaft is also shifted slightly towards the butt allowing for the use of heavier heads.

Yes that is correct, Epon and Endo forged irons use S20C

Another interesting note... these are not typical S25C Srixon forgings... they are JIS S20C... Hmmmmm.

You mean what works best for Stew out of the 14 shafts. People must keep in mind that each person needs to find their own shaft. Not Stews. (^_^)

A huge box of Srixon Z demos arrived this morning and I was very excited to get a look at them. When viewing pics of the line in previous weeks, I had already decided this was the best looking Srixon line of clubs ever and seeing them in person only reinforced that. I will be taking pics of all the drivers, FW and irons over the next few days and be posting in this thread. We'll start here with the irons, the 925 Blade, the 725 Compact Cavity and the 525 Pocket Cavity... all forged of course and all for the better player. Many of us had already seen the 725 Forged make an appearance earlier this year in top Srixon amateur Matsuyama Hideki's bag. The iron is muscular and compact and has a nice thick sweet spot. All the models of course have the laser milled faces and versatile cutaway soles with relief all around the leading edge, trailing edge, toe and heel. The 925 is a great looking forged blade. It is small with very little offset and a thin sole and top line. Looks all business. The 525 Forged is a pocket cavity but it is still quite compact. It has a tad more offset and a wider sole and that pocket cavity makes it the most forgiving of the bunch. Interestingly its the only one of the 3 that is completely satin finish while the other 2 models have chrome. I can't wait to get out with these and hit them and do a more detailed side by side review.

That is exactly what I said in my first post. The most obvious difference is the 103 is more pear shaped and more compact. As for the putter don't get too excited... it may be something we have all seen before... again.

End of October should be not a problem if we order soon. The PRGR set looks quite good and is made for players 120 to 140cm in height. Most junior brands are available in single clubs as well.

Thats correct if its head only it can be built to a variety of swing weights depending on all the factors Jeff mentioned.

Any changes to the mold will require completely new molds and for a high end model like TS we are talking tens of thousands for the molds. As far as I know Endo minimum is 1000 sets and that is even for big brands that do all their clubs with endo. This is one of the deterrents for smaller brands when it comes to working with Endo. While Endo has the highest quality and is the most technically advanced forger in the world, all this equals the highest costs. This is why Callaway, Titleist, TS, Yamaha, PRGR. Fourteen, ONOFF all have irons priced quite high compare to say Srixon's new Z series which Srixon are forging themselves. Also when it comes to Endo, what allows them to stand out from other forging houses. or should I say from every other forging house is that Endos own CAD/design team (30+ designers strong) are always involved working with the brands to create their designs. This is why you see many technologies like chemically milled variable thickeness faces with VL Titanium and multi piece embeded tungsten forged irons using asrolled and sup face materials common across many brands.. these are all Endo influences. And things that affect cost.

Day trip is tough man but it could be done if you go early in the morning and come back the evening. My wife and I arrived the day before stayed over night, enjoyed the local sights and food and hot springs. Went to the endo the next day morning with TSGolfer and Girl, toured the shop and the factory and facilities, had meetings and then out for a late lunch with the Endo execs then caught the train back to Tokyo mid to late afternoon.

The Niigata trip is a tough one. Its about 4 hours from Tokyo by car and 1 hr and 37min by train and there is not much in Niigata besides the steel industry though there are some very nice traditional Ryokans (Japanese Inns) and onsen (hot springs). I wish they would open up a big shop here in Tokyo! T

This is what I've always been saying about the 502... glad you agree! the purpose of the alpha gel is for vibration reduction but yes it kills the feel (at least for us).
