yamaha inpres x d ute or ROYAL COLLECTION 2011 NEW TRC UTILITY??
gocchin replied to Spoon's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I already reviewed the TRC briefly and did pics on the blog. I gamed the previous model for 2 years. More forgiving than the Yamaha, better feeling than the Yamaha and for me longer than the Yamaha. Stock shafts are pretty good, they feel much more stable overall than the Yamaha set up. They also look much better at address. As a matter of a fact I can take side by side adress pics of the previous gen Yamaha and TRC as I have both here. The new models have a similar look at address. -
Ryoma Premia 8.5 + Crazy Hot Black 7.4
gocchin replied to Jerry in China's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Jerry I just merged your other topic with this one, may as well keep all your feedback in the same topic. You should have tried the Ryoma in the tournament! You said it yourself the Ryoma was very controlled and with good trajectory. Maybe it might have been too long for the short course? (^_^) As for CPM it depends on the finished club. I should check to see what yours was. -
Forgiveness is certainly subjective but there is no denying that technology and designs have a huge effect on how easy an iron can be to hit. Chris mentioned 2 piece irons but in fact, in Japan, some of the most high tech average golfer models consist of many pieces even up to 7 pieces (an honor shared by the Tourstage ViQ and Yonex NanoV Nextage) In the end a lot comes down to personal preference, what works for an individual and what that individual is willing to pay. 1 piece, 2 piece, 7 piece, Kyoei forged, Endo forged, China forged, for some people it makes no difference and for some people it means a lot. In the end its great to have choices, traditional ones, high tech ones, cheap ones, expensive ones. Something for every player and budget.

You can buy the Fourteens individually this time around... but they are ultra limited. Very very few in stock. T

I love RC wedges, to me they are always one of the softest feeling and best shapes around. They always have been. This years model especially since they are forged by Endo. There is no doubt they should be the best feeling of the three. Great post B!

Ryoma Premia 8.5 + Crazy Hot Black 7.4
gocchin replied to Jerry in China's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Also if you are going with a draw, then that is okay... if you are too much left, you might have had to go with my other suggestion for you which was the CB46. -
Ryoma Premia 8.5 + Crazy Hot Black 7.4
gocchin replied to Jerry in China's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Maybe you can't see where it landed because it went too far? (^_^) As for the trajectory, thats what you wanted, a more penetrating ball flight and the Crazy certainly has more control than your DI right? It is 460cc by the way. I guess it does not look huge which is a good thing again? -
Ryoma Premia 9.5 with Crazy CB-46 First Look
gocchin replied to bogeydog's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
5 rounds is a pretty good test I would think! It sounds like a very well rounded performer for you and I guess thats more than what anyone could ask for. I'm tempted to try a CB46 myself... feedback has been very good. -
This club will also make a stop in the 808 state for those who are interested!

Ryoma Premia 8.5 + Crazy Hot Black 7.4
gocchin replied to Jerry in China's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I will tell Ryoma that they should make magnetic covers instead. Zipper is very rare these days. Let me know how it goes Jerry! -
Frank you seem to want to go lightweight as you said you liked the AD-65, if that is the case you should go with the Quadra 652i Stiff which is 73g. This offers a great combination of feel and performance. You might alslo want to be looking at I-6 or I-8 from Roddio or the Longest Yard Stiff (though very expensive). The Crazy are the most stout but still provide smooth feel.

Shorter shaft is a good idea and it does keep you in the fairway. There is a loss of distance with the egg Impact driver and I did not like the feel. In the end I just could not game it. There are many other alternatives like building a heavy head Epon driver to 44".

RC FW's and utilities simply have great pop to them. I prefer the feel over any other FW. I actually did not like the feel of Yamaha FW's and utilities as much as they felt harder. RC, ONOFF, Fourteen much softer yet crisper. Egg is just a completely different club when it comes to feel (especially the first gen as we all know). (^_^)
-
I love the TRC, and I actually only game RC utilities cause they are simply awesome and not many utilities come close in feel and performance. I'm glad you like it B. I am waiting for your post on wedges. (^_^) C, sonartec used all RC designs albeit with a 2-3 year delay before they went under.

I've tested both the Onoff 2011 Forged as well as the TR500. The Onoff (whose shaft is the MP711i here in Japan - 7 for 70g range and 11 for 2011 and i for iron) is very good feeling and rather forgiving especially comparted to the TR500 which is aimed at pro players and single digit handicappers. The ONOFF forged has always been known for soft feel and more than every this year with the new model being forged at Endo (The TR500 is as well). As a 12 handicap you are much better off with the ONOFF or a set of Yamaha V Forged (simply awesome). You should be getting more distance from the ONOFF than the TR500 as the lofts are a touch stronger on the ONOFF and the design is geared more towards distance than the TR500.

New Kenmochi Products Official Topic
gocchin replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
More like 90% (^_^) -
Duffer has my former I-6 shafts and yes, very good feel and very accurate. The problem with the Tour AD shafts is that they have been around a very long time and have not really been refreshed in design. I really like the Roddio as well as the Quadra and Crazy shafts. Both the Quadra and Crazy are as everyone knows very high quality and like the Roddio offer great feel, distance and dispersion but at a pretty high cost. I am all for putting good graphite in a nice forged iron as it provides very good feel not only at impact but also with the swing.

You'll certainly need a sleeve for every shaft if you just want to swap in and out at will. We will have to check with Kenmochi on cost. -
Ryoma Premia 8.5 + Crazy Hot Black 7.4
gocchin replied to Jerry in China's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The looks are simple, without a doubt, I had mentioned this many times. I actually dislike the look of the sole. The workmansh and quality is very good though. Looks are also very subjective, I much prefer the black Crazy shafts over the orange Tour AD shafts with distracting rings. If looks and flashiness matter so much to you then you should be buying Honma (^_^) Its the performance that counts, don't let the headcover and its plain looks influence you so much. You give the sense you are disappointed because of the looks but then you said it sounds nice, feels good and flies with good trajectory and the shaft is like a knife cutting through air.... that all sounds pretty good to me. I don't think Jerry was disappointed at the range C, he just could not see. -
Will, sounds great. I am very excited for you. Thanks for the great feedback and I bet you can't wait to get your new irons too!

Ryoma - Field Testing w/Joe Average Golfer(S)
gocchin replied to idrive's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Hi Jodokus, Thanks for posting the feedback! Yes I guess in our emails you always know me as Tario but yes gocchin and I are the same person (^_^) I'm glad the Ryoma is working out for you and in your case I think the key is control as you mentioned to me in emails even bad shots are always in play. for some reason I thought you also had a Crazy in the epon. The 46 is turning out to be a very good shaft! -
Ryoma Premia 9.5 with Crazy CB-46 First Look
gocchin replied to bogeydog's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The performance is certainly from a combination of both head and shaft. I am glad I was finally able to chose the right shaft for you B. The 46 is an amazing all around shaft. Your feedback on it is right on, great kick but also great control. Can't wait to hear more! -
Craig thanks for the feedback and I'm glad that you are still getting along with the driver. I thought you deserved your own topic as the other one is getting long and harder for people to sift through when looking for feedback. I have asked others who will review the Ryoma as well to start new topics. I have to admit we were lucky in getting your driver done so well considering you were not involved in the fitting and selection process. 45 holes and only 2 missed fairways with the Ryoma is superb. Even though you "only" gained 5-10 meters in distance, considering you are always in the fairway that equals even more net distance overall. For the wind though perhaps you need a second one like I have made for lower launch (^_^).

Welcome back Stew! I of course as everyone knows did not leave and I am glad I didn't as there was no need to. Things are very normal here these days and even TV is back to normal in other word not the round the clock reporting on quakes and shakes and radiation. Back to normal programming. Of course this does not mean that anyone has forgotten what has happened or people aren't still suffering from the disaster. It is just not as bad now as many overseas news outlets seem to report ie Tokyo is a ghost town, all the foreigners have left (only one I personally knew who left is Stew (^_^)) Yes CNN repoorted a 6.3 quake just a couple of hours earlier, we felt nothing here. 6+ are normal here in Japan and always have been! I'm glad you are back Stew but yeah you should have come back earlier. (^_^)
