M, I'm going to request some demos. I've been wanting to try them as well since they are endo forged and previous Yamaha wedges have been pretty good.

Better is very subjective. There are many many good forgings from Japan and it all depends on what you are looking for. Gold's are also forged at Kyoei. One thing to keep in mind when it comes to feel as well is not only does the quality of the steel or the forging effect the feel but very much the shaft, the grind and head design as well as even the player will vary the feel.

Please save me with my Egg Spoon 15
gocchin replied to Jerry in China's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
For swing weight the simplest thing is to add a much lighter grip. Every 4g lighter the grip is you will gain 1 swing point. You can easily bring the Egg up to D3 or D4 doing this though the problem with this is the static weight decreases. If its a heavier club you want reshafting with a heavier shaft and as other users said adding tunsgten to the tip area will help or of course ugly tape on the sole. -
Apex driver was already posted on the blog http://www.golftoimpress.com/2010/10/new-2011-callaway-legacy-apex-driver/ The Razr line is not coming out until March in Japan, as always if the models don't differ from the US models (ie Japan only models) we don't carry them. As for the Octane Tour Black, isn't that a US model?

Images and a preview were put on the blog a while back here http://www.golftoimpress.com/2010/12/new-miura-giken-mg-hybrid-debut/ I didn't get a chance to test it as I sent it off to Tourspecgolfer who noted above he'll have a review soon!

Rather old models from more than 4 years ago... I don't think they have ever come out with new models. They were quite nice wedges and we did carry them at the time.
-
It all depends. The Tour AD typically play stiffer than the Bassara followed by the softest Speeder 60i. Personally Roddio and Quadra may best those three for very tight performance matched with good feel and distance.

No relation at all manufacturing or brand wise. Geotech carries Crazy and their products and thats it. J-beam is another completely different company which makes the 435 head for Crazy.
-
As some of you may have seen I've been testing the Quelot's on the blog with pretty good results. They excel especially for players who swing under 105mph and battle the right side. You can check out the reviews and updates on the blot at www.golftoimpress.com And feel free to ask any questions here or in the comments of the posts. T

Why is epon not promoted more in the US
gocchin replied to rjklein4470's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Epon has always kept a low profile and yes, Epon/Endo makes all or some models for Bridgestone, Tourstage, Yamaha, Fourteen, ONOFF, PRGR, Titleist, Callaway, Honma, even Mizuno and Nike in the past as well as a slew of other JDM brands. Another reason is price. Epon is not cheap and they prefer to keep themselves as a high end premium brand/boutique type brand. It is said that Endo forgeds 60-70% of the world's top irons and I believe it. -
I tried contacting him a few times over the last couple of months but received no response. Tourspecgolfer should be able to get in direct contact with him. I'll ask.

I didn't mind the sound even though I'm usually pretty picky about sound. The EMB is so straight and long that all the sound does is warn the group ahead that your ultra long drive is coming. (^_^)

Stew, the BBD's Type H is not that old! And also keep in mind here we are talking about RoyColle which is a premier fairway wood maker... they are known for their FW's especially the for being great feeling, accurate and versatile. I always have at least one RoyColle in the bag at least whether it be an FW or UT, they are superb! Technology certainly helps when it comes to performance but sometimes technology can mask traditional feel which the RoyColle certainly have.

I spoke to Geotech today and should have some demos on the way for some TSG testing later this week!

I saw the ratings gate review and I'm thinking of trying the driver. It's the Quelot RE10. The only issue I have with it is it's light weight. It's meant for longer builds so the head is only 190g. I've asked Geotech if heavier heads can be spec'ed out. Right now the RE10 is available in both conforming and non.

Is yururi gekku confirming with 2010 new rules?
gocchin replied to Jerry in China's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Each listing clearly lists if its conforming. The Tours are available in both non and conforming and you can still get the old Seida which is non. The Gekku raw are non. -
I haven't had a chance to get out with it yet as I'm finishing my testing of the new PRGR clubs plus I have both new ONOFF drivers here and the new ONOFF forged iron and the X-Blade 705 S and M models... I will soon though. (^_^)

No comment on the Superio's as they still never replied. But if you've read around on the forums here especially 3 years ago, the older Axiv shafts are legendary. They were favorites of many players here especially the V for the faster swinger and harder hitter. 300CPM sounds way too stiff for the V 7080, it must have been super tipped. The V was known for being very smooth, very controlled and able to keep the ball out of the left side with a penetrating launch and reasonably low spin. Yes it is possible the Black 50 is even better as it has similar characteristics but better grade carbon and even lower spin.

Duffer19 hit them so he might chime in. He told me they felt pretty good.
-
It's not actually a shaft that is offered individually, it's like the old ROMBAX J, it's made just for that Yamaha model. I don't know much about it though I do have a tester X-Drive 705 here with the new Tour AD DJ.

Where is the New Titleist 910 Japan driver made?
gocchin replied to suheric's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
the 910's for the Japanese market are made in China as well as they don't feature a forged head like the VG3. Many manufacturers now write made in Japan/Made in China depending on the parts and the 910's shafts are all made in Japan (especially the upgrade shafts) but alas the head is made in China. -
Where is the New Titleist 910 Japan driver made?
gocchin replied to suheric's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Titleist has a very tight relationship with Endo, and Endo makes the VG3 driver as well as forges all their irons here. I'll check with our Titleist rep and Endo and find out. -
Hi ant, it's not MOI but the CG position in relation to the shaft. The larger the gravity angle the more draw biased it is and the smaller it is the more fade biased it is. On english sites its not a concept thats discussed often surprisingly though PRGR and Honma use it all the time. I did find one site that briefly describes it here: http://www.purelygolf.com/E/CG.htm I have a bunch of data on the g angle of many of todays models including images I can dig up.
