  1. After receiving the VG3 and seeing how good it looked I decided to walk over to the range and hit a few and snap some pics in the back yard... I am very impressed and I will tell you now I like this iron a lot. It's very well made and finished, typical Endo, the cavity and back face look awesome. I'm not a fan of the mirror finish on the back face but thankfully the top line, sole and face are very very nice milky satin. Once again Titleist Japan worked with Titleist USA and it shows because the offset is just right on this iron. This iron will appeal to the better player as it sets up well, very balanced and pleasing look. The top line is a little wider than say the V Forged or ONOFF Plus but it doesn't ruin the look, it still sets up great. Sorry I couldn't wait to post on the blog as I got so excited over these... I may have to order a set as the graphite Motore 60i is a great match. I have both 950GH and Motore 60i here and I really like the lightweight of the graphite, which turns this into a performance iron with awesome feel. Pics here before the blog!
  2. I have the iron here now. I am impressed. It loooks very good. I'll try and blog on it today if I can get out and hit it.
  3. I already got mine but I pre ordered in July!! So far feedback from those who pre-ordered first and received have been very good... The egg is also being featured in many reviews around Japan now and the feedback is very very good.
  4. Demand for the new egg spoon has been far more than PRGR expected especially with the Fubuki. They did not build enough at launch and we were pretty disappointed in the number we were allocated. So far those who have gotten theirs are very happy with the performance. S, sounds like you are as well!
  5. don't recognize that label, clearer pics of the entire club would definitely help. Thanks.
  6. Pretty much what stew said, it is like the stanard Fire Express except with the performance designed for 46" OR LONGER finished club lengths. The Standard Fire Express is a great shaft and much better suited for around 44.5- 45.5"
  7. Well it's time again to post another what's in the bag. Will go into more detail on the blog but in the mean time: I actually missed my spring edition which included the following: Maruman LX460 PRGR EGG Spoon 17* PRGR M3 Hit Tour 21* Epon AF-901 24* XXIO 2010 Iron 6-PW + 50* Fourteen J.Spec II 54 + 58 Bettinardi 360TR This bag served me very well and has took me to the next level so I felt it was time to make a move to a new set of clubs aimed at the improving mid capper. The new bag includes the following: Epon Technity 460ZR 10.5* 0.5* Closed Face Crazy Black 80LS 45.25" 307g D1 254CPM ONOFF PLUS 14* ONOFF PLUS 17* Royal Collection TRC 21* Royal Collection Td+ 25* Yamaha Inpres X V Forged 6-PW Tour AD-75 Yururi Seida Rupas 52 + 58 Fujukura Yururi Carbon Yururi Nantetsu Putter Very happy with every club, especially the irons and wedges which are both easy to play but wonderful feeling. I'm contemplating a 17* New Spoon but then I would probably drop both ONOFF fairway woods. The only club I'm struggling with now is the driver, I experimented going with the 80t Crazy but it came out much stiffer than I had hoped for even with Regular Flex. I like the putter a lot as well, very soft, almost too soft but rolls the ball great with a similar style and feel to the PZ milling. As always I still have the ONOFF Caddy bag... nothing holds more than this bag. Rain gear, extra clothes, food, drinks, shoes, balls, camera, you name it.
  8. It's the natural progression after the kai'li, 'ilima and now ahina. Softest butt and stiffest tip and center section. October 16th release date.
  9. Hi there, if you played the 2006 X-Blade and had no problems with the sole or forgiveness, you should have no issues with the C-1 which is a bigger head and has a wider sole than the 2006. The AF-502 is also a very good iron. In this range there are so many great irons to choose from. I would actually place the Yamaha V Forged and ONOFF Plus Forged ahead of the the Epon and GR C-1. Both have superb feel and control and are relatively forgiving. Slightly harder to use but also great on performance and control is the X-blade 703.
  10. Users can now close their own sale topics. Please note in the listing the item is sold and close the topic. Thanks, T
  11. Even in Japan there is very little info on that shaft, as for the head Miura Japan released that model nearly 11 years ago. Hollow inner cavity with forged face and neck, SUS body...
  12. A, it's about 10cc bigger than the Pro TP but the same traditional shape, high back and deep face design. It's already in play on the Japanese tour and feedback has been very very promising.
  13. awesome stuff S! That kicks ass!
  14. The first generation spoon naturally launches higher which is one of the reasons it carries so much however high as your pitching wedge doesn't sound right. Definitely give it some more time and let us know.
  15. Welcome to Japan and to TSG! As a 20 index you fit right in the average golfer category and have a world of clubs to choose from as that is the biggest segment of golfers in Japan meaning the most choice of clubs. If you want to look at drivers, I'd suggest the Yamaha D201 series, the PRGR RED 505, even the X-Drive 703, and there are many more. These are new models. Golf5 usually has a lot of used clubs and you should definitely check out last years Yamaha 4.6D RPM as well as last years XXIO and PRGR GN502 and ONOFF if you are looking for used drivers that really perform at a better price.
  16. S you pretty much said it exactly... even if it does not have the best feel or sound the Spoon has the best length and are dead straight. The Fire Express will be an interesting combo as it will help the spoon launch lower and spin lower you'd probably get even more run and control out of it.
  17. Depends on which model. The standard 703 could and the GR models definitely will though the GR are starting to get a bit larger head size wise. Tourstage typically makes their drivers with slightly thicker sweet areas than other brands and this appeals to the faster swinger and results in soft feel which the 703 does have.
  18. Yeah I have 1 10.5* left and its a rare Hi Cor one. I think I will put in a Quadra or Crazy. Isn't your last one from me? Between the two of us we must have owned more than 10 of them. The newer D201 is the shallowest yet. The 4.6D RPM from last year is not quite as shallow. All Yamaha drivers are know to retain the high back design which is why their heads are not stretched out and overly large like newer shallow back design heads of today. The Kamui is also like that as well, more compact at address.
  19. corky is pretty right with his assessment of Tourstage drivers. The standard 703 is not big by any means but it is not a pure pear shaped but rounder. The 703 Limited is more pear shaped. The 460ZR was not only pear shaped it was and still is one of the longest and best feeling drivers made. Perhaps I should take the last one I have in the closet out and play it!
  20. If I'm not mistaken the GS tour which is the same model as the RC cV Pro is 0.335"
  21. Do the pics I take look oversized? They are in fact between mid and small. Thin top line, rather thin sole. Very nice iron. I actually very much like the feel. Most Japanese publications rate them as a players iron but with some forgiveness and top notch feel. Shingo Katayama plays the same irons though slightly modified to have new grooves. (his bag is a great representation of forgiving clubs for the better player) If you want to compare to a US spec iron size wise it's probably similar to an AP2 in size. A lot smaller than most average golfer models like the ONOFF Red, XXIO etc and even smaller that say the X-Blade GR C-1 and AF-502.
  22. I was all set on getting an ipad however after seriously thinking about it, the ipad is an awesome gadget but has its limitations for what I need it to do. I need a machine to take on the road and oveseas and still be able to do all my duties for work including managing the site, store and server as well as the blog and running photoshop and dreamweaver, dealing with customers etc. I came to the conclusion I would be better off going with the 8" Sony Vaio P series as replying to 60 emails a day on the ipad seemed daunting. The P Series features a powerful Atom Z560 processor (2.13ghz) and a silent 256gb solid state drive. The screen is also a huge 1600 x 768 which is crazy for 8". The P series also features wimax and 3g as well as gps and all the usual bluetooth and bgn. One amazing point is its weight 595g for a laptop capable of running windows 7 and pretty much any windows app (it can run OSX and Linux too of course) Lower base models are on par cost wise with the ipad.... it's so hard to pull the trigger here in Japan with so many toys... gonna drop by Yodobashi tomorrow.
  23. Jack that looks pretty good. If it's google and android then it'll be on docomo... gotta check it out. http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/19/droid-incredible-review/ Edit: I found it, it's called HTC Desire in Japan and damn it is on Softbank... again.
  24. I've got a brand new 2009 46D and 46P sitting here that I can't decide if I will put in play. I really liked the 2008 model which was very tinky but easy as heck to hit. We'll see if the RED 505 and Fire Express 55 work out otherwise one of the ONOFF drivers will go in with a Crazy shaft.
