We have to keep in mind here that the Brill and the B330 are meant at different crowds. No one on the Japanese tour plays the Brill as it is primarily meant as a distance ball first, spin second. The Brill was probably the top selling ball for recreational players in Japan especially the average golfer. A better comparison to the 330 balls would be the X-01 series which is about to be relaunched with new models. These balls are heavily played on tour even by non Tourstage players including Ryo Ishikawa before he switched to the Z-Star XV. These balls are meant for faster swingers and much more serious spin control and performance for the better player.

PRGR EGG Spoon Video Review and Sound at Impact
gocchin replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I tested the Yamaha at their product test day and I found it harder to hit as it was a full inch longer than my Egg Spoon. Because of this I hit my Egg Spoon further (I had it there at the range at the same time). Feel is good but definitely different on the Yamaha as it is more typical high pitched tink sound you get from FW's. I find the EGG's more forgiving than the Yamaha FW's though the Yamaha's are very good and always among the best selling. -
The GR has a touch more offset. The 703 fits between the GR and the standard compact X-Blade models.
-
Any 2010 model released from any Japanese brand is 2010 conforming including models released towards the end of last year.
-
Similar in size, slightly less offset to the 703, perhaps slightly thinner topline. Feel is "different" as the 502 has that alpha gel insert but both are soft. 703 is geared towards the better player yes.
-
At the moment only the anser No2 FE or SUS303 and the GF00A SUS303 are available. I am going to check with the Master though what heads he can still do.

PRGR EGG Spoon Video Review and Sound at Impact
gocchin replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
It's most likely louder as I was so concerned about capturing the true sound that I had the camera 20" away from the ball and less than a foot high off the ground. So the sound that was captured was much closer to the ball impact than the players ear would be. -
PRGR EGG Spoon Video Review and Sound at Impact
gocchin replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
You guys really think the sound is terrible? (^_^) I did find it odd at first but I don't know about terrible. I found the EMB more terrible as that sounded like the head cracked open. I've grown to like the sound but like you said, performance is the bottom line. Maybe bad sounding clubs are long? (^_^) Even my playing partners started liking the sound. Whenever I hit it they knew right away it was the Spoon. I'd love to have showed the ball flight but this is the range in my backyard (in the community here) and its only a 100 yards long! -
Hi A, The TJ-46 SR would be a close. All the LY series are higher launching and have good feel. As a matter of a fact there really are no low launching Crazy shafts. They all launch mid to high with low spin. The LY have the most feel and kick while the 50 and 80 have strong control (less perceived kick).

Taylormade R9 TP Forged Iron & TP Burner irons
gocchin replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The Burners are a TP model and aimed at single digit players. Not a GI model. That would be the standard Burner or even the inbetween Burner Forged. The Burner TP has less offset even than the R9 TP Forged. -
My first ever video review for TSG.... It's a work in progress but I hope to get better! Check it out and the sound at impact for the PRGR EGG Spoon on the blog! http://www.golftoimpress.com/

Are you referring to their all new TE100 hybrid iron set? It just came out and we will be getting demos in soon to try. Looks pretty good actually. I'll scan a pic later to put here.

Taylormade R9 TP Forged Iron & TP Burner irons
gocchin replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
All the TP models should be 0.355" but the Burner Forged might be 0.370" because it is also offered with Bassara graphite which is 0.370". The Burner TP is 0.355" even though it comes with Tour AD graphite as Tour AD is 0.355". -
A couple of months ago, I was having a real bad day with the driver so I switched to the Spoon as well and my playing partners swore I hit it longer than my driver as I was still matching them in distance but was far more accurate with the Egg Spoon. I can change all my clubs in my bag for this year... in fact I did... but not the Spoon.

TS X-Blade 703 vs Fourteen TC1000 vs J spec Rapture
gocchin replied to Randy's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Great info as always Randy. The 703 are indeed one great looking iron and I actually prefer the standard 703 to the Limited model. The cavity of the 703 looks strong and refined and is the best looking of the bunch design wise in my opinion while the TC1000 is the cleanest looking. -
It depends on the bag really. My mini Titleist is also shorter, but my dwd is taller as is my ONOFF by an inch. It could be a Titleist thing.

Fourteen lists the grips as FoCH Rubber M60 size.... now to figure out what FoCH is...

TM Burner Forged versus Callaway Diablo Forged/Legacy
gocchin replied to golfware's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Hi R, As with all TM clubs, no heads only. Burner is available though for custom shafts. -
None of these drivers are available as heads only from the manufacturer, not even to us. Are you getting them as heads only? The XXIO does not really match in this group. Shallow face, long head, very closed face angle, aimed at the very average golfer while the others are for better players. The Legacy and Z-TX probably have the best feel in my opinion. The 440 has a very hot face too though and very good trajectory. All three are in my real loft test article. (actually its the Legacy Type S) and as the specs show, the 440 is actually the most penetrating launch.

TM Burner Forged versus Callaway Diablo Forged/Legacy
gocchin replied to golfware's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Both are very good irons. While the Diablo forged is the Legacy Forged in disguise, to me it looks like it has more offset (I would have to check the numbers to verify). The Legacy Forged is in fact smaller than the Burner Forged but has a slightly thicker top line than the Burner Forged. Feel on both are unmistakenably forged but both will give automatic like performance. The Legacy technically has an undercut but you don't feel it as it has a vibration damper in it. The Burner Forged also uses inverted cone technology and has a very cool pearl like satin finish. The Legacy actually has an interesting almost beads boron like finish as well. -
Sorry for the delay! My PRGR Tour 440 review is up on the blog and includes video from GDO's Kanatani Pro. http://www.golftoimpress.com/2010/03/prgr-...-driver-review/

Same here... I hit my EGG Spoon as far as any driver. Lately I have been using it off the tee as I am far straighter and accurate with it than a driver at a longer length. I am considering getting a 13* just for off the tee.
-
It's not high pitched actually. I will record the sound for everyone to hear. I have gotten used to it and like it as do the people I play with. They always know when I'm hitting the EGG.

The other is just Kamui and they offer completely different line of products ie Typhoon line. The one we carry (though we can get the other one too), is the original Kamui Works which makes the Asiri and Silver and Gold lines.
